I had this camera for 5 months for just $25 on Amazon. I can listen when I am at work, motion picks up even a fruit fly, night vision is great and I can speak also. I just had to do a rest because it suddenly stopped connecting to wifi, but it is fixed again. I bought to make sure no intruders, and so far I learned I had a mouse lol. Its clear also. Definitely a great lil camera. Its best to put in a location where outside shadows do not trigger it. My phone was going off constantly in the evening when headlights would pass.

@@TheChaptersofOurLives I never got a memory card because i was satisfied with the short clip it records with the motion. Its just a few seconds. If you want to record longer you need to purchase an SD card. I think its cheap
Good review which prompted purchase. All set up easily - must admit another persons review showed the Camera without the Power Lead so thought it may be Battery operated but it's still worth finding a Power Point closeby to get such good quality and functions. Cheers.

Stephanie On the Yi Home cam thats on this review you can turn the top part of the mount to the left slighty and it will pop/snap off and there are 3 mounting screw holes and once you find your desired mounting place and screw in then you can twist and pop/snap mount back together..it takes alittle strength and almost scary when twisting/snapping the mount apart so becareful..hope that helps..

I have this cam for about two months now and I can tell it's a decent cam especially for the cost of it. However the night vision when the lighting is very low (night light in the room) it's not as expected, all you can see is shadows moving and if if the object is close to the night light you can barely see the silhouette. The other thing I am disappointed about is the sound. Although I set the sound sensitivity to the lowest dsb still you can't hear on the recorded video people talking on a normal voice.
I'm trying to figure out what detection I should set it up on I don't understand the decimals or however they put it on that little scale for sound I want to hear as much as possible

I just the YI Home Camera, I connected it to my home wi-fi, but when I leave the house, it disconnected. How do I watch the live stream from my job, to see what is going on in my home?
So why can you NOT view activity without alerts on the SD card anymore? One older camera is set up that way. My newer 1080p will not just record activity. It has to send alerts to my phone. Also, appears YI is really pushing the Kami cloud service at a cost. Seems set ups changed since the latest update. I own many of these and they worked well for my needs. Now I wish I purchased another brand. YI support is useless as they only know how to keep replying with the same set up instructions. I know how to perform that!
WORST CAMERAS! I have 4 cameras and IF it stays connected to wifi and doesn't tell me it's offline constantly it is a useless camera. I have an SD in each one of my 4 cameras and not one of the cameras allows me to see what was recorded but only to watch a live view. Who has time to sit and watch live feed all night?? Switching back and forth between cameras because i was not going to PAY to watch live feed of multiple cameras, is SÒOOOO SLOW uploading and connecting to cameras. Like I said it's constantly not connected to wifi or "offline" and it takes a rigorous process of resetting the camera and Most of the time I can't get it back online without leaving it power free for days. These are the WORST cameras, the absolute worst I have ever encountered. I read so many mixed reviews and did so much reasearch and now I understand why peaople let bad reviews.i can understand having one camera being a dud but ALL 4 of my cameras are duds and the "YI HOME" system is sad at best.. Save your money and buy something else. Daytime camera footage is nice but as soon as the sun goes down expect to see nothing but shadows unless you have outside lighting already set up.

@@TotallydubbedHD the camera arrived and I placed it in the hallway and connected it up and for the money the Video quality is really good and the audio is clear enough, I like that I can set up detection zones and have it record to the sd card and I can also have it record to my iPhone via the app and it will save in my photos so it’s easy to upload, share or backup. Setup was so easy and user friendly which was great. Thank you very much, very happy with the Yi Home camera to record for our own safety. Thanks 😊

Something is wrong with mins, I have it facing my balcony, I know when I check my video it will flip on its own to show my blinds and then flip black insurance outside that's creepy..do it supposed to do that? Or what's going on??
Like mine for the $$ but the Motion Detection is horrible. On high you need to have a fast moving object in order for it to go off. Then the video is only 6sec. I want to see at least 10-15sec before, the clip itself and then 10-515sec after.
Kino Zomby YI Home Camera status light is on by default, but can be manually switched off on the app. Select the camera on the app. Click the settings icon in the upper right corner at the video page. Select basic settings. Turn off the status light.
How do you view the recorded content? I get it its on the SD card. You need to take out the SD card out every time you need to view the recorded content?
I set up the camera but I went to delete them on the appt and could not get them to reset and added back on the app, do you know how to get them back. I tried to reset them to reconnect and there is nothing I can think of to get them to reconnect.

i had an issue with that and called them i had my network set to 5.0 and 2.5 i used 5.0 would not work so i put it to 2.5 and they synced hopefully this will help
What happens when Yi shuts down their hosting server? You throw the camera away! They don't tell you when the EOL is scheduled. This is a major problem with these inexpensive cameras.
Wonder if anyone can help. I bought a SD card and just now put it in the camera. I just dont know how to use it now. Does it just automatically work? I went thru the settings and saw nothing. Will it just record more minutes when the motion is triggered?

That's odd the night vision from memory was really good. You sure you've enabled the right settings?

Not sure about recording to Mac, but it saves your recordings on the cloud

Aaron Browne lag is due to your internet. Watching it back, you need a microsd card in order to watch everything back :)

what's that tiny light for? can it be shut off, or can you put a piece of tape over it so people can't detect there is something there?
don't think it can be switched off, but yes a tape over it would do the trick

cloud storage, as far as I'm aware is to access it anywhere - if you got a microSD card it'll still record

Can I view the stored footage when outside the house with my phone on LTE when I get alerts for motion? I presume I only need some sort of Yi account and no subscription?

Hi, Do the motion Detection alerts only show up within the YI app or are they pop up alerts on the phone so that I can then open the app to see them?

totallydubbedHD oh. Lol. I honestly thought I'd get sort of an email alert or something like a pop up notification without having to always open up the YI app to see if I have notifications. I'll keep looking around in the app .. thanks for the reply :)
Ha no worries, yes it comes via the app, but that shows up as a notification on your phone :)

i had an issue with that and called them i had my network set to 5.0 and 2.5 i used 5.0 would not work so i put it to 2.5 and they synced hopefully this will help

They don't tell you when the EOL is scheduled. This is a major problem with these inexpensive cameras.

Belden is an example .... here one day ..... gone the next! Had to toss my Belden cameras in the trash.

My cameras night vision doesn’t work and place it’s set the room is complete darkness any help??
Not sure, sorry. Might be faulty?
It automatically changes to night vision mode when it detects darkness in the scene.

Wonder if anyone can help. I bought a SD card and just now put it in the camera. I just dont know how to use it now. Does it just automatically work? I went thru the settings and saw nothing. Will it just record more minutes when the motion is triggered?
That should do it from memory, just set your notifications etc and you're done. Try testing it out - it will record (on loop) to the microSD card
@@TotallydubbedHD I see how it works, i was able.to find a video and even though it alerts 6 secs I'm still able to rewind from the live view . I have a mouse I'm trying to catch haha! I just ordered 2 more cameras because I've moved this one around so much trying to find where the mouse goes🤣
