hi my friend has an account with over 1 million followers got lot viewers on the videos but only making 300$ a month😢 any suggestions？
The big piece of advice here is not to include *too many* ads. Yes, having more ads will generate you more money but *too many* ads will annoy your audience. Be smart but also be considerate to the viewers. 👌🏻

With ads in the middle of a video, a great deal depends on the quality of that video. That is the point where I often turn off and go elsewhere.
This is very helpful and so many creators need to know about the strategic placement of the ads. Nothing more annoying than advertising popping up in the middle of what someone is saying.

This was a good informative overview. As an ASMR channel I think the only place ads can go is before the video. Is there any way to control what types of ads are shown on your channel?
Great video! I can't believe how hard it was to find one on this subject. Almost all of the other videos talk about how to get to the point where you can start monetizing--not how to actually monetize your videos optimally for creating revenue.

I don't enable mid-roll ads on any of my videos because I can only assume that people find them obtrusive. I know I do when I'm watching videos on my TV or my phone and I don't want to hurt retention or watch time. Oddly, I haven't seen anyone talking about whether this happens or not. But I guess I don't want to risk it.

I made a commitment to myself to NEVER enable midroll ads because I hate them with a passion. I have another channel that’s been monetized for a year and I have and will continue to keep that commitment.
So where do you prefer your ads?
@@diyallthingsit doesn’t matter anymore because RUclips disabled that feature. It’s now their call if there are or are not any midroll ads.

I'm not monetized yet (super close just 500 hours to go) but there are ads on ALL MY VIDEOS! It's so discouraging because I feel like they turn viewers away from my videos and I'm not benefitting at all from them.
not true bro if your giving value to your audience theyll watch it all the way through and skip over the ads, im sure you do this when you find a video that interest you, so always focus on your content and how you can make it better, you got this!

I had a question that I can't find an answer to. It has been frustrating since RUclips now allows commercials anywhere in videos even if you aren't at monetization status. I make meditation videos and it is killing me when ads pop up part way through.
Does anyone know a way around this? I don't care if the ads are before or after, but in the middle it sucks. When I reach monetization status, will I be able to change this?

Selecting place automatically on my 8-10min. videos puts 3 ads in, which I think is way too annoying for viewers. I'm going for manual placement for now PS I notice you ignored the 'Place Automatically' option - any thoughts on that? Thanks

i have a question related to live streaming ads. on you tube i have observed that during a live stream youtube put automated ads only for 2 hours. if the live streaming longer than 2 hours there is no ads after that. so its happening with me or its policy of youtube longer live streaming only having ads for 2 hours.please help it can resolve or not

Yes i normally adds ads break and that's how have generated higher revenue in youtube
It took from a Thursday afternoon, when i applied for monetization, until Monday morning, to get the approval.
Can I choose what kind of ad play on my videos?
Is there a way to avoid certain types of ads. I'm working in a niche and my videos were full of my competitor's ads. At the moment I just turn the monetization off to avoid this but I'm not really successful because YT runs ads anyway most of the time.

I believe youtube now manages the ads for the creator. So there is no creator control but they claim that they will make more money while its under their control.

Very informative.... though my channel is yet to be monetised...I have two questions...hope you take out time to answer them.
1) I typically post wildlife videos of 90 to 150 seconds duration. Is you tube going to put ads in between it, if I opt for that.
2) I am at 929 subs now...I think within couple of months it will cross 1k mark....shall I outright apply for monetisation once 1k subs and 4k hrs is reached or wait for some time and then apply.
All these recommended settings were on already by default for me...
is there a way to bulk turn off options like "Sponsored Cards"?

I need advice!!! I keep seeing ads for RUclips growth companies that will give my videos thousands of views and likes and shares. They claim to be organic. This is tempting. Should I try or avoid at all costs.

We have the same settings you chose in the video but yet we only got about $208 off of 187,000 views. Why did your video get less views and over $2,600 in ad revenue? RUclips shouldn’t have this large of a disparity between channels. I know we make LGBTQ videos but that shouldn’t mean we’re paid 88% less on every video. Can someone explain this because right now it feels like we’re getting undervalued.

One of the most annoying things is finding an ad has been inserted just where I'm jumping forward to a chapter I want to watch, because that means I'm watching ads far more frequently than I really can tolerate, and I end up muting the volume for a minute or so and check my Facebook on another screen while I'm waiting for the ad to end. Which cant be good for the advertiser. I can tolerate an ad every 15 minutes or so, but any more frequently than that and I go from watching every video to just watching an occasional video. Ads are a necessary evil, I understand that, but maybe a better way to double ad revenue is simply to produce twice as much content.

Overlay ads are THEE WORST!! I have never seen a useful one....well maybe once in years! They always block the content. Just turn them off
What's the hack to get to 4,000 watch hours? There probably isn't one.
Left the RUclips Program just as soon as I joined. They didn't lift me off their blacklist, so what was the point.
Plastering ads on your videos is the fastest way to drive viewers away from your content.
Worse, even though I left, they are still plastering ads on my videos for some Toenail Fungus cure, charging someone some pennies tod o so, and then giving those pennies to someone else. Just what I don't want.
