Love this content best out there - because Mark doesn't give you a fish or two - he gives you the Rod with tackle to thrive and sort your issues.. Thanks Great work!
Awesome video, thanks. I have exactly the same spec as you and was getting very annoyed with the lack of quality. I watched and followed every minute of this video and ONE SETTING completely changed the whole experience. The dynamic settings frame rate target. I had it the opposite way round. I had it set really high. Thinking it performed its task that way. Changed it to 10 and Chicago was fantastic. Then I came out of there crossed my fingers and reloaded into ELGC which has been pretty diabolical this week. I was amazed at the difference in quality. Also using the FPS counter window showed me that none of my issues have been bandwidth. It’s always been well within my range. Also with excellent performance great graphics and a general frame rate well over the 100 mark. Thanks for the videos 👍👍👍
Lots of helpful info and explanations, Mark! Nobody else I'm aware of is explaining exactly what all of the various settings do and how they work. I use MSI Afterburner primarily to adjust my GPU fan speed for VR flights; taking it up to 85%. Adds a bit more noise from faster air motion, but nothing annoying. I notice your GPU temps are about 10-15 degrees higher than mine in VR. Mine are a steady 64 degrees or so at the 85% speed in VR. But I'm on a 3080Ti still, and you're on a 4090, so those run hotter, I suspect. Cheers!
After watching your video it too k about 20mins of testing using your methodology to set up my graphics to give a good performance which also looks great. Just used central London instead of Chicago:) Thanks Mark.👌
Excellent video Mark. Clearly explained and demonstrated. I picked up a few tips, that’s for sure. I’m hanging off trying 2024, even though I have a game pass, just too buggy for me at present based on reports. I’m not seeing a massive difference in visuals either and the fact that VR performance is a bit worse than 2020 is a big issue for me. I’ll wait for another 6-12 months and see what the consensus is then. Photogrammetry has never really worked well for me whether in 2D or VR and that’s with a 4090, 14900k cpu 64G of RAM and a WiFi connection speed of 400mbps.
Another stellar video and instructional help as always Mark! I was at a loss with the sim and you have made it so much more enjoyable! I did find that I had to uninstall the Nvidia app as its settings over rode what ever I changed in sim itself… now I simply run default NCP settings and your settings in game and what a hoot I am having! I did find also that I had to turn the turbulence setting right down in VR as realistic was making me very ill… anyways, thank you my friend once again!🎉🎉

Ground shimmer is sunlight refraction off evaporated humidity. Mirage at its worst. Very rarely across an airfield on a sunny day is there no refraction distortion.

Really great video, glad I came across your channel. I have 14900k and 4090, been tweaking my settings, including following your settings here the best I can but I'm really struggling to get much above 40fps. DLSS set to Quality, settings set to High End (left to the default configuration for now), even flying out in the countryside and not a city, getting 36 - 41 fps. Anyone with any ideas on how I can achieve more? Thanks in advance. Edit: Also to mention I am using the Reverb G2
@SimHangerFS Thanks foe you reply and your suggestion. That's something I've already done, I'm on the latest version. Almost seems like I'm not quite getting the most out of my hardware, been doing a lot of research, done some optimisation to help with the CPU, benchmark testing is giving reasonable scores, it's just not translating that way in terms of performance in MSFS and no idea why.
No DLAA ? In the last DLSS upgrade (via DLSS Swapper) my MSFS2020 in DLAA was performing extremely close to TAA in VR. Will only be able to check out MSFS2024 in mid January after touring down to Cape Town with my Turbo Centurion (real life).
Any tips on what the Nvidia control panel global/program settings should be? Ie picking msfs 2024 in the Nvidia control panel settings. I know if you tweak that it can disable or change what you chose in the sims graphic settings
Mark, when I fly low over the landscape with the Spitfire or a Hawk at full speed, the scenery passes by slowly. I don't feel like I'm flying fast at all. Both in VR and on screen. However, I have a high-end computer with a 4090 graphics card and 64 GB of memory. Could this be related to some setting in MSFS2024?
Nice video.. Not sure What I did wrong or what is up with my system. When I turn on AI Frame gen my main thread MS jumps from 15 to 50. I noticed yours does not change much. I'm running a 4060 with latest drivers and did change to new DLSS 8.2.0.01 in DLSS swapper. Any idea what is causing this? Thanks.. I'm also running a 7800x3d with xmpo running in bios.
@@SimHangerFS I'll try that, but I also noticed you are pushing over 10gb VRAM consistently in 2024, much more that my 8GB in my 4060. Do you see this being in issue with 2024? What did you push in 2020? Thanks again
They are at the last quarter or so of the video. He didn't go over each one in as much details as with monitor settings.
