  • I've been shooting the Black Gold Pro sight for well over a year now and it is the best multi-pin sight I've ever used.
    The Pro Sight is available in a number of iterations, including three and five-pin scopes and either the Wing Truss dovetail mount or direct mount.
    The Black Gold Pro sight is loaded with features I've come to appreciate, including micro-adjustable pins and vertical and horizontal gang micro adjustments.

    Love my BG verdict ascent assault 3 pin sight

    I have this sight and have also owned a premium level axcel with the same tooless pin adjustment. I would say the accutouch is a bit more refined but the blackgold isnt far from it and its warranty is unmatched. Both amazing sights though

    Excellent review as usual. I have the exact same sight and everything you have said is bang on!. The quiver mount you can get it sent to you or your dealer (pro shop) free of charge, its almost like M.B.G forgot to include it in the packaging. The pins are extremely bright, however if you are in a blind you may need a sight light from M.B.G (blind mans light). I had to use one.

      I haven’t used it in a blind. But pins have been great everywhere I’ve shot it.

      Does the whole photo chromatic housing light up with the sight light? From what I've seen it's extremely bright and seems like it would be visible to the deer outside. Has that been your experience?

    • @stevew3718
      @stevew3718 4 года назад

      @@KA-lm6sp yes it does light up the housing, however i couldn't tell you if it would be visible from the outside looking in.

    Does the windage bar cut into the sight picture or scope ring? It always looks like BG sights have that square bar cutting into the scope ring so ive never tried them.

    I love my fx on my hunting bow. The only thing that scares me is there are too many screws that can loosen up. Black gold recommends not tightening up the pin screws too tight. I had one come loose the other day

    How does this compare to the axcel accutouch carbon pro?

    Any thoughts on using this sight, or any Black Gold sight in a hunting blind? I really want to try their sights but if you need a sight light hunting out of a blind, I think that whole photochromatic shell lights up, right? At that point the light is escaping into the blind and you'll have a harder time seeing outside or the deer might see it?

    Great review. So once you set say, 20, 30, 40, is there a good chance that they will have a tape the goes to your 60 and would just require a test at that distance to verify?

    • @ArcheryTalkVideo
      @ArcheryTalkVideo  4 года назад +2

      Yes. After I set up my 20/30/40 pins, then I build my sight tape. I usually start by putting a piece of masking tape on the sight and make a mark on it so I can move it back so my 20/30/40 pins are in the right spot. Then I shoot at two distances to find the right sight tape. I said 40/60 in the video, but I misspoke - 30/60 are my two distances. First i put a target at 30 yards and, using my bottom pin as a floater, move the sight until I am hitting in the right spot at 30 and make a mark on the tape. Then I move the target to 60 yards and move my sight down until I'm hipping the spot consistently and make another mark on the tape. Then I go through the Black Gold sight tapes (or whatever sight tapes you have - Axcel tapes also work just fine) and find the tape that lines up with my 30/60 marks. Then put that tape on the sight. Just make sure you go back to the 40-yard mark you first put on the tape first so your pins are in the right spot. Then rip off the masking tape and put on the new sight tape and go out and verify that you've done everything correctly. If you are off by a little bit, then you may need to go down or up to another tape.

    How would you rate the sound and vibration of this sight? I have an older BG sight Pure Gold 75 and its has lossened up quite a bit and is vibrating and making noise during the shot and driving me crazy.

    • @ArcheryTalkVideo
      @ArcheryTalkVideo  4 года назад

      No issues for me so far. But keep in mind I shoot a lot of bows, so damage to accessories is kind of spread out.

    I have the whitetail sight rn, is the upgrade worth it? Also I'm wondering could i mount the single pin scope they sell to this?

    • @ArcheryTalkVideo
      @ArcheryTalkVideo  3 года назад +1

      I have a Whitetail as well. Both are excellent sights. The only reason I'd want to jump up to the Pro is for third axis adjustability. The dovetail design is nice and the way the pins can be adjusted is great, but I'm not sure that is worth the price jump, as the Whitetail works just as well.
