Oh no, Suites 3 & 4 have disappeared!! I hate this, not only because I really liked them, but also because all of your hard work lost...
Any chance of bringing them back somehow?

TheRichrocker Shoot, you're right... that's disheartening. I might have a few ideas to try soon. I'll also see what it would take to put them up on Vimeo too. I might need others to reupload them if they ever try to shut down my channel. 😕

This Soundtrack reminds me of a simpler time. When being a teenager. And your idol was Kirk, Picard, Sisko and Janeway. People who fought for what is right. Not was is ordered. A Series that was trying to teach things... I think Star Trek was the thing that taught me what is right and wrong. To not go into violence but talk with people. To listen. To always believe we can be better than we are. And whilest playing space engineers I brought on that track just to give me space vibes... Now? Well, I am all in my star trek phase again. With the new Picard Series. But more into watching the old again. To boldly go. These are the voyages of Star Trek. And its so deep in my heart, that I listen to this with goosebumps. Live long and prosper. Thanks for the upload man!

    • @nicholaslong2251
      @nicholaslong2251 4 года назад +9

Very well said!! I feel the same way, might (violence) does not make right, listening and understanding is what make sustainable peace possible. In addition, the humbling effect that outer space brings to a person to realize how vast space is and how small we really are. Definitely miss that type of SciFi that brings a sense of wonder and mystery into a life. Keeps your imagination running for weeks if not years, wondering what is truly possible in this great cosmos of ours.

26:38-27:28 - Captain Jean-Luc Picard: This is a story...a very ancient one, from Earth. And, um, I'll try and remember it. Gilgamesh, a king. Gilgamesh, a king. At Uruk. He tormented his subjects. He made them angry. They cried out aloud, "Send us a companion for our king! Spare us from his madness!" Enkidu, a wild man...from the forest, entered the city. They fought in the temple. They fought in the streets. Gilgamesh defeated Enkidu. They became great friends. Gilgamesh and Enkidu at Uruk. - Captain Dathon: [faintly] At Uruk. - Captain Jean-Luc Picard: The...the new friends went out into the desert together, where the Great Bull of Heaven was killing men by the hundreds. Enkidu caught the Bull by the tail. Gilgamesh struck him with his sword. - Captain Dathon: [laughing] Gilgamesh. - Captain Jean-Luc Picard: They were...victorious. But...Enkidu fell to the ground, struck down by the gods. And Gilgamesh...wept bitter tears, saying, "He who was my companion, through adventure and hardship, is gone forever." - [Captain Dathon dies] - :'( Shaka, when the walls fell. :'(

Essentially, Darmok represents what Star Trek means in one episode: The frustration about the inability of every human to communicate properly has to be replaced by the compassion and empathy to realize that someone on the other side is also struggling with the same issue.

18:17 Probably one of my favorite moments of "Best of Both Worlds", if not out of the entire series. That moment when Picard puts down that tea cup realizing that he was just carrying on like everything was OK, but in reality he just went through one of the most horrifying experiences of his lifetime and he almost lost everything.

+clydesight Its not just an American treasure, its an international treasure. I am 16 and I come from Bulgaria. I started watching star trek a year ago and tell you what: I have never seen something so good. It changed my views for the world. Now I am a tolerant and understanding person, but only two years ago I was a man who totally disapproved of things such as gay marriage (and on top of that I was racist towards the gypsies, because everyone in Bulgaria hates them and they teach us to hate them just because they are poor and live in misery). Now I am a totally different person. I think that if Star Trek was shown to the kids in school and they were taught about the Star Trek philosophies, the world would be a completely different place nowadays.

Tyrannicus, I have listened to your suites, musical compilations that are made with real feeling for the mood of the suite theme that you have pulled together. I have to say, you are capturing the very essence of these themes with the music you are pulling together. You really have an understanding of what it takes to move people with your work. I just wanted to say thank you for taking the time to do all of this. It's simply amazing work and the results are spectacularly superb.

Tyrannicus, I don't know if you're still here after all this time. Anyway, I wanted to let you know that your suites refresh my study and work time. I'm a huge Trek fan and they give me some comfort while I deal with sometimes uncomfortable tasks. I'm able to point down most of the tracks to the moments where they were used and they almost always bring up memories of me watchting Trek in different phases of my life. Kind of emotional sometimes for me. Thank you for your effort, you maybe can't imagine what a gift you made for me with these suites.
You truly belong in that uniform!

Funny thing, as i was reading the description and i got to the "inner light" paragraph, the iconic flute piece from that episode started to play as if rewarding me for taking the time to read the description :)
I think Star Trek has always hed some of the greatest composers in the business.

    Hi Tyrannicus, Great work!
Could you please tell me which tracks of which movies include the first 4 minutes of this Star Trek Suite please. Thank you!!

Well the exact tracks change depending on which TNG album(s) you have, but the first 4 minutes come from the episodes "Encounter at Farpoint" and "Skin of Evil". The tracks on mine are called "Stardate", "Departure" and "Tasha's Farewell"

Is there a way to get this same playlist on iTunes/Apple Music? I don't/won't pay for RUclips Music, but this is an amazing playlist/suite!

What is the theme from that's at 18:55-20:40, leading right up to the Inner Light flute theme? I can't quite place the episode/moment it's from. Specifically the melody that starts at 19:50.

Ovrkyl NVM...duh, it's Picard's revelation at the ending of the episode...and I'm fighting not to cry again.

+Ovrkyl Not sure - but for the "Inner Light"? I just give into it and cry. It's one of the most beautiful things I've ever heard. That one song, like the "tears in rain" soliloquy in Blade Runner just hits the heart like a sledge hammer.Knocks down all your defenses.
