msinvincible2000 well Craig is in America but still seems to retain the accent but Gerard probably doesn't spend a lot of time with other Scots so that explains a lot of the fact isn't as thick as when he was younger because when you spend time around people of your same country it helps the retintion of the accent .
Yes! I'm Scottish and the Americanisation of their accents from the first video to the last was sad to behold. Guess they have musical ears, as that's apparently what makes people acclimatise to accents. Sean Connery must be tone deaf. 😂

My great granddad Patrick Kennedy who was from Tipperary retained his simply because he was spending time with other Irish people ! keep me with other Australians and it stays strong whereas if I'm around people of other countries it gets weaker. But these two were joking around the American accents were fake !
That's not always the case. Some people retain their accents years after migrating and being surrounded by foreigners. I would say most, however, have the traits you describe. Being with fellow natives definitely makes a person's accent broader, but then people's accents and manners of speech change every day, depending on to whom they are talking.
