    One of my favorite new channels that I've discovered. Keep up the great work!

    I have the GB Aravis, Ti rails and I adore it ! It’s 2 years old now and is so comfy ! I must say it was nice to start with comfort wise , just getting better. Ti rails help with dampening road noise. Will get another for my next build too.

      Have you ever ridden a Brooks saddle? I have a B17 and I get perineum pressure but otherwise its so comfortable on my sit bones. The C17 is great to relieve my perineum pressure but its too hard for my sit bones after a couple of days on tour. Im wondering if an Aspin open would be the saddle for me!

    • @weatheranddarkness
      @weatheranddarkness 26 дней назад

      @@pbskater3 could be, the Aspin is a tiny bit wider through the middle, but it is narrower towards the rear. The Path Less Pedaled video compares exactly those two and you can see the silhouettes directly side by side.

    What I like about Berthoud over Brooks is that is fully servacible you can take it apart since it's bolted not riveted. Also your. It sitting on the rivets which preserves the bob shorts which are not cheap.

    Fun that you put the leather grease on top. It is supposed to go underneath. 😉

    Damned that's a super sexy saddle, this coupled with their leather bar tape would look amazing.

    I have had the Galibier for about 18 months. You are spot on. Fit advice I read was tilt nose up slightly to take you off the nose and into the cradle when riding. Love my saddle. Anyone would. 👍

    Yes. it's obviously a nice looking, and expensive leather saddle which makes you feel special etc, but what about the amount of setback possible? It's an important thing to consider. With a Brooks I need a 30mm setback seatpin to get a balanced position on the bike, because the rails are quite short. I've heard that the rails are even shorter on Berthouds.

      @Dvids85 2 года назад +1

      I've heard they were longer on the Berthoud saddle's.

      GB rails are longer - look for the video on Brooks vs GB by Russ on Path Less Pedalled; I think he measures the rails.

    I really like the look of this saddle. And of course Ted King rides the Ti rail version for many miles after coming from plastic road saddles in his Pro road career. I want a narrow, long and flat saddle to replace my flat, long and narrow Fizik Arione. Will this one come close to that profile?

    thanks for the video ! im having a gb galibier and the nose of the saddle for me is quite lets say rigid espesially after a normal saddle ...actually trying to get used to it and playing with adjustments. generally it's sure that it's not a plug n play saddle ..

    Been looking into Brooks saddles actually. I am currently using a 144 size specialized power saddle. Would you think that the sizing matters for these leather saddles? I've heard that these leather saddles are wider than standard saddles and it's ok.

    • @thisishowiedewitt76
      @thisishowiedewitt76 4 года назад +1

      Yes of course sizing matters. Like regular saddles, there are many different sizes of leather saddles. Look at a saddle like a shoe. Regardless of the material it's made from you still require the correct size for a comfortable fit.

    For me, interestingly, the narrow the saddle, the better. What triangle bag is that?

    Bike seats are incredibly difficult to recommend a "comfortable" one. Quality is easy, comfort is definitely a personal thing. I have done just about every recommended method to picking one out and the only thing that has worked was to go wider than the recommended sit bones width. For Brooks, I'm supposed to be on a 15 width seat, 19 is what finally worked out. However, 15 is what was recommended for my son, and he says it's perfect. The only method I recommend now is to find a LBS that will either let you try out a bunch or has a good return policy.

      Leather moulds over time to the rider’s shape, so long as it is decently close.

    Brooks reminds me of Doc Marten.. There was a time (15-20 years ago) when they would last almost forever but now the quality is not quite the same. I still love current Brooks, just a little less

    I recently ordered a Berthoud saddle and I have a question that I haven't found an answer to yet. Hopefully you know something about this. Using chamois creams. I always use chamois cream with my saddles on long rides because if I don't I will get saddle sores. I notice my saddles at the end of my rides always look greasy from the cream bleeding through the bibs. I use a premium cream from ASSOS so it is not oily but still I have a concern about the compatibility with the leather and how it is going to affect it. Do you think I should not use chamois cream with the saddle?

    NEVER sell a broken in Brooks saddle! Just sell the bike with another replacement saddle as the buyer will likely replace it with his choice anyway.

      After reading several opinions on "Brooks chromed frame fails" I became interested in SS/plastic frame. Polymers can be really strong and have long life, yet GB saddle can be dismantled and serviced myself (vs permanent rivets). Go figure!
