I'm so glad you talk about how reptiles have personalities. People think I'm crazy when I say that my leopard gecko gives me attitude when I put crickets on the other side of his tank so he has to come out of his cave to get them. They really do have strong personalities.

have you ever taken a look at solar heating? you can set up a system that basically works as underfloor heating. you seem to get a lot of sun, even in winter, which could allow you to set up warm ground areas or warmer ponds. might ease the winter worries and depending how you set it up it could save a fair amount of money on heating.

Tortoise eggs seem quite calcified in general. They make a hard sound even when you are placing them down.
They aren’t like typical lizard eggs.
