Dude you are literally the only videographer and tutorial person I am now subscribed to. I absolutely hate when everyone talks for the first 4 minutes of the clip about their day, what they want to accomplish, then they start the tutorial without me knowing what the fuck the end result is.
The sheer fact that you start the videos with the end result to give me an idea of what to expect is one of the main reasons I am subscribed. It lets me look at the title, and within 30 seconds see if it's something that will be important to me. Thank you so much for doing that.
You also keep the length of the video and appropriate for what you're trying to do, like you aren't trying to hit that 10 minute video mark for something that can be explained in 3 minutes.

@@JamieFenn Hi Jamie, could you possibly tell me, when doing anything regarding this method of (Background + Paint + Softglow), is it possible to do write-on? I know I can do it manually masking and keyframing, but can it be done like normal text?
In Fusion, under the Inspector tab when Paint is selected, 'Stroke Controls' has Write On but it doesn't seem to do anything - would love for your help if possible!!

Thanks for the awesome video! I've been trying to recreate this but I'm having a problem. With the planar tracker, when I hit track til the end, it goes about 5 frames and stops. I have no idea why. If anyone can help me resolve this it would be much appreciated!!!🙏
Appreciate the knowledge share, that's a cool effect. I found a really high contrast edge is required for the tracking to work so a polaroid is a good choice.

Bryan Francisco (to whom I’m sure you’re subscribed 😜) had a similar transition about a month ago. It involved more camera work, and less time in the edit. iPhone instead of Polaroid, but same idea. My first shot at it was pretty successful, and I was able to stay in the Edit page. 🙏🏽

A question: How do I soften the edges of the video appearing on my picture. Right after I flicked it. With my own material it looks a bit unrealistic the way the new video is sitting in the polaroid frame. Thanks!

Hi Jemie, i tried this polaroid transition in the video i have clicked but when i put hte planner tracker and click on "Track to End" it traacks only for few 3 to4 seconds and thereafter it does not track till end.. can u help like why it wouldbe..?

had to login to subscribe! great videos, im learning how to use davinci resolve and you have some great tutorial videos, keep it up! pity it doesnt run very well on my SB2 13 inch i think the 2GB GTX 1050 is too underpowered. using optimised media and trying to use the timeline to 720p doesnt reallly help, it crashes quite frequently.
Ah i find out why it doesnt utilise my GTX 1050 as davinci resolve has restricted hardware acceleration for any GPU which is under 3.5GB, kinda sucks for me to buy it and find that out after...

This video is amazing! Unfortunately when I connected my second media to the planar tracker, the video just doesn't seem to appear :( Can't seem to pinpoint what exactly is wrong because I followed all the steps.
Make sure your'e connecting the nodes correctly. (foreground and background)

So from what I’m understanding, the fusion page is only necessary for tracking. If I don’t need to do any tracking most of this can be done by masking out the picture in the Polaroid and doing the effects in an adjust clip?
Any type of composting should be done in fusion!

For the planar tracker 1 mine only shows one white Keyframe instead of all those white keyframes you have. is there something I missed?

Same Problem here, did you find a solution?
Just found the solution. There was an error message, a yellow triangle. The points of the square had to be adjusted for better contrast. Try playing around with it, make it a bit bigger. The error tells you how many corner points are bad.

Hi, i followed your guide, but my fusion video into polaroid is taking way too much time, i intended the video to show up after the flick but it takes like 3 seconds after the flick before it showing up. Any advice on this? I pretty sure i click the set at the right flick second
what do we do with operation mode if our background is round. u can't use corner pin on something round. can someone help me out?

Hey Jamie, nice tutorial once again. I´m also using Davinci since quite a time now and I was wondering if there is any option in the fusion tab to round out the edges of the planar track when using the corner pin option. Haven´t found a solution for that and I thought you could help me out with it.

I love watching yor turtorials however when trying to follow along with this one I noticed that when you created the new fusion clip and went into fusion somehow the merge node just disappeared

All I did was delete the merge node. Nodes will connect automatically to the next node if you delete the ones in between the points.
Can we corner pin in a Hexagon or Pentagon or Anyother shape?? Becaz the Corner Pin in the Planar Tracker has only Four pins. Is there anyway that we can Make many more points,so that we can make it any shape we want!! Can u please tell!! Thank You.
Not as of right now. But there are other ways to do it.
