Carpentry is still real carpentry when you use a cordless drill or an air hammer instead of the hand tool equivalents. Drifting is still drifting if it's AWD, FWD, or RWD. The methods to do it are different, the result is the same
I can't figure out AWD drifting for the life of me. It feels so unnatural. Rear entry gymkhana is easy, but drifting zones is crazy unnatural. Have been drifting RWD in games for years, as well as dabbling in real life a little bit, so I've gotten so used to how a car responds by throwing the rear end outward using only the rear tires and handbrake. I have topped my friends lists on every zone in every applicable Forza Horizon title, but only ever in RWD builds. Beats me how people master AWD so well. Kudos to you guys. I can't even get close to the top 2,000 AWD scores in most drift zones.

I’m new to the forza franchise and have been looking at a bunch of drift build videos and guides to make my own solid drift tune. Yours is the only one that has vastly improved my RWD Deberti Drift Truck by applying some of the tuning variables in the video. The higher gears with the extreme alignment is what did it for me. Now I can finally drift around any roundabout with ease. Just subbed and liked.
this video is a year old.... i just found it today.. i hated drifting in FH because i just could not make it work. a couple of weeks ago, i told myself i had to learn how to do it. RWD just still doenst seem to work ( yet) but awd i can handle it a bit more. i tought myself just the way your made your video... roundabout forst, to get to know the car, then the motorway switch over to end up at the huge mountain drift zone.... if only i had found this video when you released it, i would have enjoyed drifting a lot longer by now lol

I was having a hard time taking what i got comfortable with in horizon 4 as far as AWD drift tunes and transferring it to horizon 5. It felt completely different but maybe what your showing us here will finally work for me. I have spent a lot of time to make some AWD drift tunes in horizon 5 and im totally discouraged but maybe this will help.

I'd seen your channel appear more and more in the suggestions so gave it a view. It's pretty much how I tune my drift cars in FH5, except for the gearing, I prefer 3rd/4th gear. I only really used to be a "good enough to get by" drifter, happy enough to 3 star the drift zones and leave it at that, but content like yours has motivated me to start aiming at leaderboards. Another super weird thing to recommend but great for more experienced drifters. Try max positive camber on the rear while leaving max negative front. Helps a lot especially with lower horsepower builds as it keeps your rears more slippery like bike tires.
I used to “drift” in awd but now I swapped to rwd it’s completely different. On some awd drift cars I didn’t even have to control it just accelerate and it would drift for me it’s easy imo
I’ve turned assorts into drift cars thanks man I’ve found putting off-road suspension makes it feel more substantial when transitioning idk if it helps but I feel it does thanks 🙏
After a certain point, you already easily beat my all time pb of 1.2M... I need to work on my tunning 😂 The car I used to get that was a bone stock AWD formula drift Ferrari using only the first and second gears...
The breaking is still reversed in forza 5. If you want to break more with rear tires put the slider on the front (to the left) and you will get more break pressure in the rear
Idk what is different with horizon 5 vs 4 but something is. I had the Toyota 86 tuned out and I could chain drift all day long so easily. I haven’t came anywhere near close to that in 5. I will try this in the morning lol
I've been tuning the gold leader for my 1st drift tune and it's tricky with no guide except the descriptions in the tuning tabs, I got one to be decent but I'm not completely satisfied with it

@@MaDRocK_Gaming yeah sure wish they would change it back. All the drift zones are different now. Some are tight when drifting for points and some you can go outside of the flags pretty far and it will keep scoring. Ridiculous I did try your snow tires they worked great. Thanks for the info.
Basically just the same thing, throttle control, use handbrake to hold longer slides, use brake to get more angle. Start going passive on corners and work your way up to higher speeds, a great way to get used to snow tires

I usually use this setting as a basis on other cars. Change some things like the gearbox and some small things maybe. Depends a bit on the car and how it feels. Test what works for you. :)

What do you mean do more with awd vs rwd drift? Is awd more stable and easier to maintain the slide? Whenever I try awd drift tunes it just feels too grippy, but then I am not used to the style as I am primarily red. It does seem like awd can maintain a high speed thru curves.
as you say you can have a higher speed through curves. think it's easier to keep a good line. in my opinion it is easier to keep the drift in AWD than RWD. but it's all about what you think is fun and your style of drifting in the end. :)

@@MaDRocK_Gaming 100%. I’ve been awd drifting since horizon 3 from the hoonicorn. From motorsport 3-fh5 I’ve been drifting and awd 100% give you the cleaner line. I always feel I get more control on how I initiate the drift and what angle I can enter the corner. Finding the balance of the dif is where a lot of people go wrong. I tend to go 85% to 92% for drift builds and they always end up being insane at keeping speed throughout the line, and I don’t feel at any point stressed🤣 rwd now to me feels way to unpredictable 🤣

Drifting is basically a balance control technique. Your initial entry = handbrake or weight shift. The second state is counter-steer to hold the angle, Throttle to keep it sideways. What the heck is that? Aim and throttle and magically the car move sideways without counter steering That is totally nothing to do with the sport of drifting. Call it whatever your want, its fine but stealing points with your exploits and ruin the fun for everyone who just wants to drift normally. That's such piece of shit thing to do. To hold that kind of angle, you need special medication to your steering arm or install a knckle extension. The anti-Ackerman steering as people call it.
Didn't even watch the video. BUT, just tune the rear diff to 75% - 85% bias to the rear wheels. Experiment with it. (This also builds the fastest AWD race cars)
Man you must be using cheats or hacks...because I've been hitting the same corner over and over and over again trying to get 130K but can only get up to 100K for the last 8 hours. How are you getting all those points???? ?? I'm using the #34 supra FD rwd and highest score I can get is 121K. And I don't understand how players are getting 1.5Million w/o cheats....it makes no sense.

There are some differences. 1 of the differences is that the cars feel heavier in 5 than in 4. :)

Try putting the brake balancing to 48 and the brake pressure to 60. Front tire acceleration to 55 and rear to 75. Center balance to 85.

I say no. Manual gearbox is a must. Automatic gearbox does not allow you to hold the gears. it "decides for itself" :)

@@brianv3ntura if you want a lot of points, you should drive AWD. Speed has a factor. in Forza, AWD is the best for points. :)

To hold that kind of angle, you need special medication to your steering arm or install a knckle extension. The anti-Ackerman steering as people call it.

Didn't even watch the video. BUT, just tune the rear diff to 75% - 85% bias to the rear wheels. Experiment with it. (This also builds the fastest AWD race cars)

Man you must be using cheats or hacks...because I've been hitting the same corner over and over and over again trying to get 130K but can only get up to 100K for the last 8 hours. How are you getting all those points???? ?? I'm using the #34 supra FD rwd and highest score I can get is 121K. And I don't understand how players are getting 1.5Million w/o cheats....it makes no sense.
