    Dude, I love your content, the dry humor about apple juice, kids, parties etc, never minding that lens as a Lumix s5 user. You are the most hilarious reviewer!

    Should I get this lens if I already have the 20mm 1.8 for my A7Cii? My issue is when I use the 20mm for photo its too wide and distorted with not much background separation. And my 35mm sometimes feels not wide enough. I feel like i need something more in-between and feel like I'm missing out by not having the 24mm. That or I have GAS 😂

    Hey Mark! Do you get even more crop-in factor if you use both Focus breathing compensation and Active steady shot at the same time? What I mean is, do you get a tighter shot using both than you do if you only use breathing comp by itself? Thanks!

    Probably you would like 20mm g even more from what I see you will use it. I just ordered to have one prime and it will be 20mm 1.8. I use 16-35 gm as my main for mid low light situation

    • @MarkBennettCameraCrisis
      @MarkBennettCameraCrisis  2 года назад

      I’m sure I would like it. But really love the look of the 24. I’m sure I’ll end up with both 🤣

    • @Donbros

      @@MarkBennettCameraCrisis hahaha 24mm is nice option too just that I have 16-35 gm and it fullfills my bokeh needs (when its af 35mm 2.8) and I wanted something lighter and more close focusing (as 20mm g is one of the closest focusing lenses). Probably it will have exact same bokeh at 20mm 1.8 as 16-35 at 35mm
      If my bokeh needs will even extend more I am looking to max it out with 85mm f1.2 gm (if rumours doesn't lie) which is almost out. That 50mm gm looks cool but having 50mm lens is like betraying 35mm focal length

    Non-fan of the channel here, man, based on the last video, I've really been thinking about the idea of a very high end APS-C, that would just make a lot of sense. Interestingly, Kasey has been suggesting the same thing. Perhaps you and I are just clairvoyant?
    Off to California next week! New videos coming to ideally both channels. Really looking forward to some travel and being around 100,000 people at a trade show :P

    Since you have the GM 24 1.4 also on the ZV E10, does it breath a lot on it, since it does not have breathing compensation?

    Mark - can I ask a question about catalyst browse. Camera Conspiracies says it degrades the footage so 4K looks worse than 1080p, do you find that's the case.

    • @MarkBennettCameraCrisis
      @MarkBennettCameraCrisis  2 года назад +1

      I do not find that at all. I saw that episode - he may have not had the right settings or maybe just cropped too far. I crop at 10 percent and use optimal settings and I don’t see any degradation.

    And back to the lens. For me I found that the outside shots had too much Bokeh. Why did we change from saying a shallow depth of field to Bokeh or Toneh? I don't mind a bit of blur but that was a bit much.

    • @MarkBennettCameraCrisis
      @MarkBennettCameraCrisis  2 года назад +1

      Oh yeah - it was - like I said - it was too much - that why I stopped down to f2. But it is useful in lowlight and specific circumstances. You can blame Kasey from Camera Conspiracies for Toneh 😂

    Would it eliminate jellywobbles if used with an A7C?

    • @MarkBennettCameraCrisis
      @MarkBennettCameraCrisis  2 года назад +2

      Then lens itself doesn’t have wobbly corners, but the overall jello effect is the result of the readout speed of the sensor in the A7C, so that rolling shutter will remain regardless of the lens. However, Catalyst browse eliminates most of the rolling shutter

    I own both the 24mm g master and the 20mm g. I think I grab the 24mm more often, but I'm also not run and gun vlogging that often. Maybe I grab the 24mm more often because I know it's the more expensive, higher quality one and it's a subconscious thing. They're both fantastic lenses. But at times, even the 20mm can be too tight for hand held vlogging. There is an 18mm by Samyang, no where near the quality of the Sony 20mm, but man is it light. I tested it out here on my tertiary channel. ruclips.net/video/6b3QtOGPYJI/видео.html

      Definitely- it’s great for lowlight, but way too much for blur for vlogging. I stop down to F2 usually
