    That's why I think day-dreaming in school did me more good than paying full attention.

    Walking is so important to creativity. I take a 1 hour walk whenever I'm stuck on an animation, and when I return it's so much easier to solve whatever was giving me trouble.

    So true. How many great ideas or inventions came on a whim. Without deep focus. As a musician I can get a different satisfaction from improvising (jamming) as opposed to a structured song. Love Brain Craft. Thank you Nessy.

    So that's why I always get ideas when riding the train/bus and when taking a shower. I love imagining stuff during those times, nothing else to do but just day-dream and sometimes come up with stupidly weird ideas.

    I have ADD. Im 17 years old now, and i noticed through the years how my ADD improved more and more (lessening of symptoms) I remember that when i was younger i used to be extremely creative. I battled mild depression for a year when i was between the age of 15 1/2 and 16 1/2 and used meditation as a strategy to kill the depression which luckily really worked for me. Only one thing that i've noticed nowadays that's really changed about me is my ADD side or as you can call it: my creative side. It's kinda gone, which really sucks. Meditation has improved my focus a lot, which is nice i guess, but the problem is that i planned on doing a creative job (Filmmaker) since i'm so used to be familiar with me being creative. I love being focused through the day though cause it keeps my jokes on point, it gives me clarity and makes me feel more confident in general but i also wanna regain my creativity. So i'm kind of in a dillema right now. Like wtf am i supposed to do. Isn't there a way i can get both? Stay focused but also regain my creativity and my ability to create ideas like a madman. I get that clarity and ideas popping up are probably opposites of each other so i feel like i gotta chose between one. Anyone have any tips?

    I think some particularly creative people owe their gifts to a some minor episodes of schizophrenia and attention deficit that loose their associative links sufficiently to enhance their creativity but not enough to make them mentally ill.

    this video seems to only focus one one tiny aspect of the creative process and yes thinking about other things is important in finding a solution but so is being dedicated and putting in the hours. Maybe a series of videos on the different stages of the creative process would have put things into better perspective.

    I went 'crazy' but believed i unlocked more of my brain. I got kicked out of my parents house and ended up moving in my friends house, but i was always making beats and recording vocals. I rarely had a good meal, barely ever slept, and i guess constant studio quality frequencies blasting away at my head all the time triggered something amazing. I was always talking to myself outloud, sometimes getting really loud like as if i was pushing myself as my own coach because i would doubt myself and didnt want to worry about food, or anything else, but just dedicated to improving my music. I would yell to myself sometimes like "wtf is wrong with you?? Why tf are you feeling down? I forgot i was fucking 'Merc', im wallin yo" Haha, shit like that. My producer name is J-Merc and i would also tell myself i have a town to put on. Like "I gotta do this shit for the 609, i gotta put this shit up on the mutha fuckin map", 609 is obviously the area code on phone numbers from here. I was always isolated too, obviously because other people wouldve thought i was crazy and have lost my mind, thus bringing me to the hospital earlier than i ended up going. But it was like i could read peoples minds too, i knew what people where thinking and i knew their exact mood just from a glance. I would distract myself by asking myself questions about the universe because i always had been interested in how it works and what else is out there, meditating, push ups, etc. But i believe that something else would give me answers and that i was talking to another entity. Like a kid has an imaginary friend, i had one that was the best most "craziest" version of me telling searching for these answers for me. I want to find him again.. =(

    I don't agree with this at all. Distraction is the worst thing you can do to be creative. When Dickens walked and Mozart got in a carriage, those are techniques to increase focus. Going out for a walk ( my creative technique) eliminates the distractions of the internet, books, ugly wall coverings, nice paintings and lets you swim in an almost neutral zone where you can have only your thoughts.
    Where it starts getting closer to what you said is that imagination takes off, but not form lack of focus, it's from lack of barriers. When you're focused on thoughts, or jazzing, you don't have your filter distracting you; as George Mead would say it's all "I" and no "Me". You're more able to free associate and you uninhibited your imagination with the filters of "Oh that won't work" or "That's silly".
    Focus is the key!

      I make music during classtime ^_^

    • @Acquavallo
      @Acquavallo 10 лет назад +2

      I make drawings during class time. But I focus on the drawing. The brain can't pay attention to many things at once effectively. It automatically chooses one thing to deal with. Writing music, or drawing during class time isn't multitasking, that's called serial-tasking, when you switch between tasks. In fact I would say that this video suffers from the misunderstanding of multitasking vs serial-tasking. I'm no scientist, so I couldn't find the studies to back me up right now, but check out the DNews video on multitasking. It says the only 'multitasking' we can do CAN do, that our brain is physically capable of, is visual. Our eyes focus on one thing while the peripheral vision understand the environment, and we can figure out where to look next.

      I don't think concentration is the secret to creativity. Most creative music pieces that I've played just popped up instinctively. I get the most creative thoughts during the _eureka moments_ which, just happen!

    • @Acquavallo
      @Acquavallo 10 лет назад

      But that has nothing to do with focus or distraction. That,s just how thought processes work...

    About "The Light":
    " "I," was created by the thought of Gods and "Their," desire to allow all mortals to know that "They," are always with them: As humankind grows and seeks absolute independence from "Them," "They," will remain by their side, guiding them and directing them, in their growth to absolute "WISDOM," the way to "Their Essence" and the Elysium Fields. As you look out beyond the now, into the heavens, "I" will be there, guiding you and helping you know that "I," be visible or invisible, "My Essence," will guide you beyond all that is sensed in your reality. So, let it be now revealed to you that both "I" and "He," in mortal being, who speaks to you through the thoughts of children are but one. " Eleusis. Let The Light within you guide you to the Elysian Fields entrance; your inner beauty is expected. Follow me, "Imagination is the way." by ELias Leousis.

    If you're going to talk about ADHD as if it exists, you need to identify what the physical markers for it are. Otherwise, you're taking a vague, subjective interpretation and regarding it as factual.

    • @Chris-ng2gg
      @Chris-ng2gg 8 лет назад

    • @Dushku
      @Dushku 8 лет назад

      christinamemic Deflection. Your words do nothing to identify what the objective test for ADHD is. Also, false comparison. We can measure a lack of signal reaching a person's nerves/muscles. Finally, an appeal to emotion. I'm sorry that your parents didn't teach you to think rationally as was their obligation to you.
