Sometimes a brush is enough to remove the old burnt sponge, and sometimes the headliner shell has to be cleaned with nitro thinner. Thanks for the comment. Greetings
@@VDEdition1 Confused......I removed the lower part with the upper part and the vent snapped off because it fits into the vent tubing behind the trim. The vent needs to be pulled towards the back of the vehicle to clear the inner tubing but the pillar trim that it's connected to must be pulled straight away from the side towards the center of the vehicle. You cannot pull towards the rear to clear the vent because the trim is still wrapped around the pillar in the front. If you pull far enough away from the pillar towards the center to gain clearance to pull backwards the vent breaks.....it's a stupid design. The vent should be removable from the trim before you attempt to remove it but it's permanently attached to the trim piece.
It is best to disconnect the battery just in case, although it is almost impossible to activate the airbags due to the removal of the pillars and headliner.
I don't know which country you're from, so search on the most accessible sales sites. Search for Auto Headliner Fabric and Auto Headliner glue. I saw that there are also on Ebay.

How do you remove the B pillar trim without breaking the rear air vent?
The lower part of the B-pillar must be unhooked together with it, so that it can be removed without breaking it.

Yes, there are side airbags in the pillars..
How long did you do it for?
I finish everything in a day when I only repair the headliner. And if I have to upholster the pillars as well, I need two days.
