Yes ALL pups have faint stripes when born. Some are more pronounced than others but they ARE there. I grew up next door to my Uncle who bred weims for hunting. I've seen many different breeders pups as he was well known and had good lineage. I had 3 raised as family/personal companions. I currently have a Blue female. The blue is now currently recognized by AKC as my girl is registered. She is 4 years old. I've only had 2 female dogs. I usually prefer males. Females are a little more serious and tend to be more inclined to pick one person in family they like over others and can be more intense in protective instincts. Definitely more stubborn and harder to train/housebreak. They are a breed that is female dominate meaning the female is generally the boss of the two genders. But once you and your girl are on the same page mentally, she will be the most loyal for sure. Very good maternal instincts and she absolutely loves my kids, thinks they are hers as well. She follows me everywhere and velcro to my side as much as I allow it. She is friendly and fun and Goofy. Weims in general are very high energy and do not do well with too much time alone. They love to be close to their humans or pack. They do very well with pairs like male/female in a family. But you definitely have alot of competition that can get out of hand if you pair with same sex. So it needs to be done very early and always monitored for aggressive behaviors toward eachother. The occasional exception I've seen is if it is done with a parent and their own pup. Like female with female pup or male with male pup. I love this breed of dog and the versatility they have. They are extremely intelligent and that includes emotional intelligence. If they are acting out, you are not paying attention to them or what they are trying to convey to you. They do communicate in behavior and in non verbal action. And I haven't met one yet that doesn't just speak to your heart when you sit and look in the eyes. They are truly man's best friend in every sense of it. Very fast skilled natural hunters and trackers. A nose like a bloodhound. My male could smell snakes. He HATED them and would alert us whenever he knew one was around. He was very good at catching rabbits. And would leave them as presents for me on the porch regularly. Lol Sometimes still twitching. Not mangled or chewed up. Whole rabbit with puncture marks usually from his teeth. I don't know how he was able to catch them. They are so fast. My Aunt had one that could smell cancer. The dog knew before anyone else and had been telling her months before she went to the Dr. She I will always love this breed and have a special place for them in my family and heart. Truly amazing dogs. I think they could be taught to do most anything if done right by a good handler. They are sensitive to cold tho. And the have webbed feet! They love the water!!

I know they are not recognized, but I kind of prefer the dark coat on the blue Weimaraner.

Not all true. What my friends called my first wife, never been on a leash. They will save your life. Love right they'll love and protect you 😢
So sorry for your loss. Nico passed a few months ago, we miss him 😢
Never seen stripes on my puppies
The gray ghost
It’s grey that is a colour
It's pronounced Veimerener because It's a German breed and in the German language, V's sound like W's and W's sound like V's.
Yet another video with rubbish title.
