It’s also a monetization problem. Like The most recent example is max raids being too tough and instead of nerfing them, they introduce a new pay to win item to monetize it, when I’m 99% sure it was released too hard on purpose. JUST to monetize it
They're not even too tough, people literally aren't even trying to strategize and simply spam attacks and no-boosted Pokemon like in regular T5 raids and think they can get carried through when you need 8~12 decently prepared players to beat an GMax raid consistently.
@@DarkKerialstrazdifficulty isn’t my point. And talking about how easy they actually are makes my point stand even more because they’re not needed then. My point is the principal that the thought process for updates or “fixing something” is to put a pay wall up, while the quality has gotten atrocious.
@@DarkKerialstraz I agree with this take. The conversations I had with larger groups is that there might be a core of people who had the stardust and candy banked to max out the new mons, but the previous season didn't do much to prep people for the candy xl requirements, or even explain to them how to unlock their non-attack max moves or how they work. You gotta keep in mind that up to this point, you could show up to any event with any old mon and random abilities unlocked, go with the recommendation, and you could still get carried if you had 4 or more people who were actually prepped. So it wasn't just that the design changed, it's that it didn't account for the average raid player's nonoptimized behavior. That being said, people could still farm the one star dynamax as much as they wanted up to the max point cap. But if they ARE actually engaging with the feature, you don't want to gate them out when they actually take the time. I feel like I should point out you don't lose max points for losing a match, unlike losing a raid.
@@Scarryo The only time GMax raids were too hard was on release, where people got slapped so hard they not only hotfixed, but also reduced all other GMax encounters HP. Next to this the main issue was powering up Pokemon for the encounters, which for veterans (even though the feature was intended to be Endgame for them) wasn't worth doing having already a ton of maxed Pokemon of that species. Hence the 25k Stardust which is incredible. Mushrooms don't fix people being stingy about playing the game consistently OR powering up the right Pokemon (you have no idea how many times I've heard that in even 15~20man GMax raids where counters matter). They help out semi-decent teams that could clear it with 8~10man and it'd be too tight, because 1 mushroom only equals another person. How much do people want GMax raids to be nerfed? They already are like regular T5 as long as you can tank and tap the screen. The only monetization that is valid criticism is the lack of particle gain adjustments, so they'd gain way more from P2W players. Mushrooms ain't one of these things.
As seen on your Discord server, but posting here to a somewhat different audience, my favorite suggestion for how to fix the GBL league problem: All three of Open GL, UL, and ML every week, plus one limited cup each week, with past cups that were fun and balanced for two weeks, and new experimental things for one week (and then bring them back for two weeks in the future if they work well). That lets you play whatever vanilla Open league you want all season; and if you get bored of that, try a limited cup for a week or two; and the limited cups that are actually fun and engaging, you can have two weeks to play with teams and try things before they're gone. And even a new cup that turns out to be a total fiasco (a) only lasts a week; and (b) let's people play Open that week if they want. Even one single totally new cup per season would be a huge improvement; and people would complain less about the repetition of other limited cups if they had other good options during the weeks where they personally were bored by the limited options (while still letting new players who aren't bored yet enjoy the tried-and-true fun and balanced limited options). #hearusniantic
@@Bean._. Ah, I see what you mean. You may be right; on the other hand, I'm not sure that "fewer people would do this thing if they had a choice" says anything very good about the thing. :^/
I could be as simple as Sunday Monday Weds Fri GL, Saturday Tuesdays UL, Thursday ML. Having people skip for 3 days a week seems better dropping for weeks every time great league isn't around. It might also make people feel better about dipping their toes into the higher leagues, because the playing field gets more level (less time for metas to stagnate, less risk of massive elo loss )
Really makes you think more about Michael Steranka’s famous phrase: “We want our actions to speak louder than our words”. So far their actions have mostly shown that they only seem to care about pushing out more tickets and making events and bonuses less exciting to see how far they can push players before they start having a noticeable decline in player activity. I guess essentially what Steranka is actually saying is, “We want people to give us more money while we give them the bare minimum in return because we genuinely don’t care and we know you’ll still play anyway.” God I wish that dude would just fuck off so the game would at least be somewhat decent again.
One of my biggest gripes with the max system is having to build the same pokemon again just to not be able to finish a Gmax raid. In the MSG, you could use ANY pokemon you had without it needing to have been from a raid. And you could go out and collect max mushrooms to make an item that gives a pokemon the ability to Gigantamax. They could have done the same thing in GO on the overworld, but instead they wasted the easiest solution in their pockets on a simple power up item that gets monetized after the first use
there was something interesting that happened last week where all the new mcdonalds spawned kyurems [by accident] and i think that was the best thing that happened in a while lol especially because latios/latias are so annoying to defeat and catch .. considering black/white kyurem may be the big catch of the tour coming.. A surprise shock raid is exciting especiallly with a meta relevant raid boss .. the surpise raids got people to actually coordinate and plan raid hour but it was only a mistake and one day only
Even as a player who’s played for a year and this is only my second Christmas event. Even I’m bored. The only new thing is a mouse I can’t farm for without spending loads on raids. I can’t imagine how bored the OG players are…
Everything you said in this video is spot on and a lot of peoples' comments here are too. I come from a business and marketing background and Niantic has and continues to keep making the ridiculously huge mistake of simply not listening to their audience and communities which is what they should obviously do to improve the player experience. It's also obvious that they're trying to be safe in their approach to marketing events and community days from previous events but they're making it much too stale and repetitive and are again simply not making events tailored to the community. I saw and filled out a short survey yesterday on my POGO experience and it appears that they are getting the message that people are unsatisfied and want some change, but hopefully they are actually going to implement the wanted changes, and they have more than enough suggestions here from the community in the comments section to vastly improve it.
Could definitely use less events, less paid events for sure, and just more meaningful pokemon releases or events. They are just throwing out a million half assed things and preying on people’s fomo to get more money
I have been feeling the same way. For all the new elements in the game, they hardly have any staying power. I rarely bother to do the daily incense anymore, I haven't done any max battles recently, I stopped caring about routes and stickers, I haven't played with my buddy or increased a pokemon's mega level in ages. Ultra Balls seem nearly impossible to get, which means I am not going to use the stash I have. Niantic is now operating in a scarcity mindset but that really just leads to me thinking it isn't worth the hassle for such little reward
Even the new players are getting a raw deal out of this game when to get the exciting features that we used to get for playing this game in these holiday/halloween events,l for free, you now have to pay for…I mean, look at this week pvp, little cup and master league… they simply don’t care…
The game is at the point where it shouldn't be solely driven by self-challenge but i've accepted that instead of taking the game in a creative direction with say, a real story mode, expanding rare spawn to remote locations (like state parks) or expanding showcases, we get pay-to-grind tickets and McDonalds sponsored lure stops. i get more excited these days by challenging myself than anything the game provides. like, one of the proudest moments was when i completed level 43 by winning 30 battles in the ML without fake-battling. Now I want to max a legendary and I want a flying press smeargle (lol.)
New players spend money on bag space and raids to catch up. I'm sure they have that data. The more I play, the less I feel like I need to spend any money because I have most of it. I literally never buy the event tickets other than Com/Raid Days. From what I can tell, they're mostly just a way to get extra premium items and more encounters with the featured Pokemon, which are usually in the wild anyway. I pay close attention to this, being a content creator myself. It seems like a contradiction to say "have fewer events" and "don't make me pay for stuff I used to get for free." The events bring free bonuses, like 2x catch XP or whatever. There's a free bonus right now of 1/2 egg hatch distance. Without the event, we'd just not have a free bonus... The other nice thing about events, is it's a condensed spawn pool so you can reliably hunt things. Yeah, long-term players won't necessarily get much out of it every time, but it means a newer player can go "oh, I don't have that, I'll go play for a few hours" and have some free fun. If 500 Pokemon were just spawning randomly, that could be interesting, but it won't let a player build a candy supply or try to find good IVs efficiently. For shiny/new Pokemon releases, there really aren't that many missing. When a new Pokemon/shiny is released, it's generally the entire evolution line. They know the shiny hunting whales are going to go out and play hard for every one, so it makes complete sense for them to drip feed. Gen 8 is trucking along now. Gen 9 will probably start picking up next year.... and Gen 10 isn't even out yet in the main series. So, they can't speed up releases without literally running out of new Pokemon to release in the 4 years it will be before Gen 11 is out. I hear the same things over and over from new and old players. New players have a ton to do. Old players, not so much. Unless you go hardcore into GBL or become shiny obsessed, the game has an endpoint. I keep editing this post, but: They do the same venue years in a row because they have multi-year deals. This was confirmed by Niantic, can't remember where I read it. It's a money thing. My last thought, to go with your last thought: grinding sucks. People call everything you do in this game "grinding" instead of "playing" because it's not fun to do the same repetitive motion over and over and over for the CHANCE to get what you're looking for and to build resources. When I want to play a video game, I play a video game. When I want to go for a walk or hang out with the community, I play Pokemon GO. A lot of people who play this would do themselves a favour by broadening their horizons a bit. Not directed at you - content creators have a special kind of hell to go through with it all.
Literally in my city currently there’s less than 60 players that play amongst three different teams. The seasonal influx of players is unfortunately the best time to play but the hardest to thrive in due to burning resources trying to keep paces amongst the influx
Im coming up on my 1st year and alot of the events and spawns are boring already. That shouldn't be possible after a year. That's part of what pushed me to play GBL and in turn find your channel. There are plenty of legendaries I dont have yet, butcthe raids are constantly recycled so I'm generally not even excited for those. At this point I'm only buying tickets for events I actually care about. If enough people stop spending money, Niantic might actually notice. I dont think the game is dead, but it could definitely be better. Either way, I look forward to the daily content here and hope your still successful for a long time to come, Dan!
I dunno about y'all, but I've been playing since 2019 and I'm still genuinely surprised by the short shrift the Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh, and Kalos starters get, considering how common they should be by default. We haven't even had community days for the Galar starters and they are matching seen numbers with some of my community day starters! 😂
The take that they are doing the absolute bare minimum and just copy pasting previous events and leagues is not even questionable. It is absolutely what they're doing and it's almost like "yeah this game served its purpose and now we are intentionally trying to kill it"
They have so many huge mons they could launch but they CHOOSE not to... its abysmal. Gen 4 Phione Manaphy and Arceus are nowhere to be seen. Gen 5 Larvesta is egg locked Gen 6 Aegislash is nowhere Gen 7 Mimikyu is invisible But the tickets go up from 1doler per event to just about 5 dollars now for every event Getting 1 new pokemon per month is a disgrace.
I think people get to upset about monetization in the game. You don't have to buy the tickets, they are just there as an option. The people who do buy them are subsidizing the game for people who don't. If there is a player-power issue, like hiding a PVP pokemon behind a paywall, then sure it would make sense to be upset. However, just because paying makes something easier or you get a cosmetic, doesn't mean it gives people an unfair advantage.
As a newer player I'm happy to get meteor mash on my shadow beldum. ... Or at least, some of my shadow beldum since some recent ones still have frustration on them... Or hydro on greninja. But I get the event exhaustion. The seasonal pool would be better if expanded and allowed to actually show up more.
They need to be more giving in general. More new Pokemon, increased spawns for them, easier ways to get xl candy so that we actually want to go out and grind. I have been trying to get XL candy for newer Pokemon like cetoddle, bergmite, baxcalibur, jangmo o, etc. These Pokemon have been out for YEARS and I’m not able to max them out and probably won’t for another couple years until they get comm days.
As a person who has played since the beginning, and watched Nick, plus others since about that time as well, I feel like I have no other choice to acknowledge and agree with what you are saying. The content has felt stale and the motivation to play GBL, or just the game in general, has felt off. But then again the bright spot in all of this has been finding your channel in the last few months and really grabbing on to that content, because even though my love of the PVP side of this game has faltered, you have really made it fun and interesting again. Seriously man, thanks for that. You are a great content creator. Keep it up amigo 😎👌
We are feeling it with you. I’ve been playing since a month after release. I’m a hard core pvp’er. Despite hitting legend every season and trying to come up with fun challenges in the process the game has been pretty stale. For me this last year outside of the go battle paid $1 tickets and $5 raid days the events have been trash. I didn’t even do go fest for the first time and didn’t miss out on anything. There’s way too many tickets. I enjoy the in person raids but I’ve done 2 gigantamax battles and it wasn’t enjoyable. I think Ninatic has always been out of touch with their players but right now it’s really showing. Hopefully they throw out their old playbook.
I have created many challenges within the game for myself to keep encouraged. LVL 50x2, hatch 15k eggs etc. That statement hit really close to home, Dan 😂
When I found out smeargle was banned for holiday cup after it came out I decided to play it because it sounds fun now, but then saw that there is a new visual bug on GBL that has been making it borderline unplayable so I put it back down
While I kind of agree its a playbook, there's only so many (US) cities with the cell infrastructure to support all these players suddenly showing up. Nothing like flying to Vegas and wasting your day not being able to play. If they choose a city because it's proven to handle the load, I get it.
@ agreed. Just wish they’d do an event in Orlando Florida , big tourist destination , can be a smart choice during the winter months as our winter is not as wild
@@tawfiqkhan3354mate, you guys get 500 events in your country every year. Australia has gotten nothing at all. Closest being Singapore, a 9 hour flight from Sydney
I think you've addressed this issue quite well months ago. The lone consistent "excitement" or "incentive" to keep playing this game at this point for hardcore GBLers like yourself and myself is GBL itself. We are still going to battle and find it entertaining regardless of what recycled ticket or event comes out. We are competitive people and we like that aspect of the app. The problem for us, which again you exposed months ago, is Niantic makes no money off GBL. They won't invest in an aspect of the game that produces no revenue outside of you collecting and expending resources to build mons (which you can choose to do or not but to build mons you need candies, dust, etc). I wouldn't be surprised if eventually after each battle you are forced to watch a 30 second ad. Keep up the good fight Dan. I'm still with you and still hoping to battle you at some point. We as GBLers just have to be realistic with the app at this point and take the good with the bad and just enjoy the competition we participate in. I stateed playing in 2021 because my daughter wanted to try it. The only reason I collect or raid anymore is for her because it's her account. I battle on it but in the end it's her account and she likes new characters, costumes and the like because she's 9 and it's a shared experience we can have. I'm hooked on GBL now but the reason we started playing wasn't that and in that regard the app is stale to her and she's 9.
They’ve slowly taken away items that used to be free in event research to put them behind tickets. Incubators, lucky eggs, star pieces, anything beyond the purple and gold potions. Even the rate of pokeball drops from spins and gifts is much lower. Pushing everything to the store.
I will say the common rare candy & xl drops into dynamax is good, and showcase, route, and party rewards have been surprisingly strong. But yeah most of the free research got worse, or gated behind 1 and 2 dollar research.
I am also noticing they stopped doing 5-10 bundles and now it's completely insane at 40-50 dollars, with straight bad value. This means I stop saving up PokeCoins for accessible bundles and stop interacting w the store at all.
It is SO odd how 'patient' or simply careless Niantic is with releasing new Pokemon. There are a TON of Pokemon that Niantic could steadily introduce to Pokemon GO from the main series games. Especially in the event of the Holiday's and yet they just release a new shiny and other recycled Mon's we all have a billion of. Like seriously, they release a new Pokemon like once every other month.
Niantic's revenue is less that half of what it once was. They were a billion dollar company and they pissed it away. They are trying to get back there with all their micro transactions on tickets and it isn't working. Copy and paste for most of the events.
Hot take: dmax and gmax to an extent provide new content for veteran players who are sick of a raid boss thats been out several times. Fully agree the whole 40 players needed thing needs an adjustment though. And by that i don't mean everyone having to buy lots of max mushrooms. Maybe for gmax mons they can provide free research for max mushrooms though to provide at least a little help.
The most frustarating thing for me is that Niantic is quite clearly choosing to ignore their playerbase. For a while, Niantic have just refused to acknowledge constructive criticism and feedback from players under the guise of 'this is our plan for the development of the game'. When players have issues with certain aspects of the game, such as the amount of tickets for every event, what do they do? add more tickets, sometimes even multiple tickets per event. Of course, this is an ultimately unsustainable way of managing the game and is the perfect way to create a toxic relationship between the developer and the players.
There's a lot about the design of Dynamax that just screams ARPDAU design, which is so wierd, the one thing you could say about pgo for years is that they didn't come off as exploitive. The design also goes directly against the stated reasons for capping remote raids, because by allowing paying for infinite max points, you skip having to walk to power spots. 🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️
I'd be happiest if the ComDay pokemon were powerful in perhaps one division of GBL. Ultra league would be fine. Add a move to make it great in Master league. No, I don't play much GBL, but I think the ComDay should make the pokemon relevant for *some* aspect of game play. I don't think it's ideal if a new pokemon becomes the best at *everything*. That just means power creep.
As much as I didn't want to do it, I recently uninstalled the game. With all of the issues in GBL and Niantic failing to even acknowledge them under their known issues, on top of this game becoming even more geared toward monetization, I just couldn't justify sinking anytime of my time into it. Maybe things will change and I can come back, but I feel like the people who take the game serious, are the minority and just will never be heard.
So there's an interview w a staff artist where they confess it's not Niantic's discretion on when new Pokemon get released (shinies excepted). If so, we can assume it's on Game Freak/Creatures' timetable. If it works the way I'm familiar with, they wouldn't even be able to get costume approvals without GF approval, because that's a spin on their IP. (About 7:20 min mark) ruclips.net/video/xbvInEo-MaE/видео.htmlsi=XocEh5sTRAhLtwow
In retrospect, easier wins like shadow Pokemon and dynamax make sense in this rubric, because you're recycling the majority of the content vs having to design, rig, and animate whole new Pokemon. Granted dynamax does have some new forms but a lot of them are just larger models.
I don't think having 2-3 new shinies every event is sustainable. They need to give "older" players the opportunity to grind for the few actual useful things in the game: stardust and XL candy. I disagree about the weekly events being worse for the game than not having events. When there's no event there's literally nothing worth doing, no way of grinding anything, no pokemon more useful than lillipup or wimpod. People don't even load up the game during the time there's no event. You may only play 20 minutes during these events, but that's a lot more valuable than not opening the game at all. A month of no events and only the seasonal pokemon is absolutely not going to motivate anybody.
I can’t tell you the last time I spent money in this game. My community has faded and I exclusively pvp. They don’t care about this game. I’m about to do something else. I watch pvp content more that I actually battle
Everything just feels so half arsed and has done for a while. The last time I really found something innovative was the Johto Tour in early 2022, since then the game experience has been a gradual downhill slope. Sure it's had some peaks but in general it's been in decline since then
I'd love to see new evolutions in the game. Like if they made stage three for Sandslash and Dunsparce. The Max thing is lame. New evolutions would have been better.
Everything you said is pretty simple. If they havent done yet they probably wont and its sad. They make their money so they happy giving ppl less. There's gotta be a balance where if they did a better job more ppl would put money into it and everyones happy, right now it's just a shitty product filled with money grabs. It's gross. . .and as someone who already took a break from the game and started when the game dropped in 2016 its sad to see its this bad with no hope of it getting better. . .
I've been actively playing since 2016. I've hit legend 6 or 7 times. And I'm so bored of this game. I do my daily incense, do one set of gbl a day, and that's about all I do now. Sometimes, I'll do a raid while with the kids at a playground, but half the time I forget I even play this game anymore. I'll catch one costume dedenne and then, what? What else do I need from this event? I'll find other games, hobbies to do Niantic, and I don't think I'm the only one who feels that way.
You are correct Dan. The game has become boring for lack of a better word. Everything is paywalled, GBL is getting mundane and repetitive. Master league is ridiculously expensive on stardust. There are better games out there. The only way to win is to not play in this instance.
I've been playing since 2017 and the game is moving away from fun and towards a ticketed way to play. Reduce enticements for longer-term players so that they voluntarily leave the game and reduce rewards so that the newer players see this as the norm. Boxes in the store used to be good, now they're not. Biomes have reduced the spawn pool of pokemon in your area to a select few so the player is catching the same pokemon for 3 months until the season is over. Agreed, pre-biome update, the events were worthwhile playing, now they are skipable. Post-2021 players even had to pay for a ticket to get Zarude (not even shiny eligible), a pokemon that was freely available for longer-term players. Niantic is implementing change by making the longer-term players the minority, so that their voices cannot be heard, and making the game be played by the newer player the way that Niantic wants it to be played. Sorry for you and other content creators, that the newer players are seeing this as a cash grab rather than a fun game to play and the longer-term players have gone elsewhere.
They need to make money which is understandable. Micro transactions are not the way though. If they planned out a battle pass system or honestly just did a subscription where everything is laid out for what you get I think people would be happier. It is the constant feel of a money grab that is what pisses people off. Until they stabilize GBL gameplay specifically though you can't charge a subscription service.
Hey. Still rank 8 in gbl this season, usually around 21-2200 elo by now. There is too much monetization, not enough innovation worth paying for. Holiday and halloween events are/were trash, worse than the previous years for sure. Tickets for every event and spawns in general are lame. Really need a refresh to bring back old players, but i guess the constant new players coming in keeps the money coming in.
Gbl with morpeko has been one of the most fun things in forever. The 50-second switch timer is nice, but it's not a new idea. The league rotations suck too. More rare xl candies are being given out in nice, but still too rare. I have 130 rare xls, which isn't even one pokemon to level 50, and you need 3 for ML. Not enough bans in leagues, the same 15 leagues every season. I'm tired of being tired man 😅
so true, the more special events like the holiday and halloween ones, used to be events that were more exciting and often brought more casual players back to the game for a week. Recently, these events have been treated like just regular events, with boring spawns and any actual new or interesting content being locked behind raids, paid research or eggs.
even as a new player the costume pokemon aren't anywhere as abundant as the halloween ones. doesn't even feel like the featured spawning pokemon are special at all besides delibird. like how is alolan diglett holiday themed? xd
Niantic needs to care more about the middle 50% of players like myself. Of course the top players with lots invested and lots to lose on their accounts will keep playing, but I totally would spend $10/20/50 a month if it would significantly help my shiny/hundo/pvp chances. All the events are copy paste so I don’t bother.
Niantick has sooo many problems. Most of us are used to it, so the negativity is not new: have you watched Count Jinsula lately? We all go through the Niantick sucks phase of the cycle. They're management is fumbles weekly, sometimes daily. It's really a shame for such a brilliant game idea to be walled behind such an oblivious bafoon of a company. Yes they pay wall a lot and that sucks, but they don't even do that intelligently. Balance is a foreign concept.
Brother u forgot to point that they made ZARUDE lock 🔐 behind pay wall..like I did not play the game last time when zardude was released and playing the game for last 3/4 yrs ongoing ...since latios and latias got released with legacy moves...and yet I could not get Freaking ZARUDE for my Dex entry ..this time they made it lock 🔐🔐🔐 behind 5 or 10 dollars pay wall..even those who had zero of that mon.. really frustrated... I don't know why every event they focus and elaborate that we will give unlimited remote raids where in fact it costs 525 coins for 3 passes and normal passes cost 250 coins . SUCH A HYPOCRITE....I REMEMBER THEY SAID IN INTERVIEW THAT THEY WANTED PLAYERS TO GO OUT AND PLAY BUT ATLEAST MAKE US BUY PASSES... AT SOME DISCOUNT... LIKE I MISS THOSE 1 POKECOIN RAID PASS AND ALSO THOSE 750 COINS SOMETHING RAID PASS OFFER THAT GAVE 15 PASSES . BACK THEN IT WAS MY ONLY HOPE TO GRIND COINS AND BUY PASSES FOR LEGENDARY BOSSES EVERY 2 WEEK ATLEAST 10 EXTRA PASSES ..NOW I DONT FEEL LIKE GO AND DO RAIDS... Also first time I CRIED in game when I got zero G MAX kanto starter raids .. I was soo pissed off..as my local area hardly we had 20 to max 23 players and we all were on bycycle traveling hrs to find someone active..but was soo disappointed on both days with zero catches..and what solution they added ..fucking mushroom for 500 coins .. for 5 mins .too pathetic and too greedy.. uninstalling after 2024 com day recap..playing since 2016 but with some gaps .after first gen when my entire Dex was done .I had uninstalled the game..now it's just pay money and get advance Pokemon of LEGENDARY kind .and it's pathetic..the gbl lags ..I still don't play gbl...
These past couple of months in Pokémon Go have shown how lazy and stale Niantic has gotten and as long as their greedy money hungry are making money they really don’t care, but of course you have the “Niantic Defenders” and their pets and minions to back them up 😅
So much I wanna say, Dan is the man ☝🏼 1st of all. If you know economics you should know how commies operate. Now if this were meritocratic… they would be incentivized (higher pay or bonuses) to be creative with their product, which would in turn incentivize us to actually consider all these tickets. Which would be better for EVERYONE lol there is no pleasing everyone, but mighty pokemon was a home run.. who’s ever idear that was… promote them. I’d pay for a mighty experience every month! But no this is not their reality.. they’re just hoping ai steps in soon so they can truly go into “autopilot” as you put it. This game just needs to be decentralized & given to the ppl… we would make such a better product.
I am currently in rank 10 in GBL and at least 1/3 of the players I encounter have legendary poses.. this says a lot about the current situation of GBL..
The only thing that’s says is that they are taking the easy way out!? Why go all out with the rest when they can wait for the easy games to climb easy! Many do this they wait a week or 3 to start playing bc of this! Easy wins easy climb!
@ NO it says that they are doing a Slingshot Move! Easy fights Easy Climbs!? If You Do t Get Thats Fine! Why play against Difficult players when they can do with easier ones am at the end of rank 20 elo is 23-24!? But it is okay you think they are play at your Lv!
@@Geunpieif you are playing people with legend poses then you shouldn’t be playing new players. You would smack them, and there’s a reason the ELO system exists
I’m sure this year I must of bought 500-700 in coins, to note how much more money some of us are spending, granted I am an adult and instead of buying other games on console I spend on this game, frankly I’m tired on the same bs over and over.
Here’s what needs to happen: 1) old man hanke and everyone who shares his vision needs to be forced out of the company. I don’t give a damn if he owns it or not, he has to go. 2) Fire everyone who thought it was funny to give magical leaf to a Pokémon on 4-20; it’s immature and embarrassing. 3) grandfather all existing mon to be able to dynamax; it’s wrong to expect people to hunt new hundos. 4) reduce tickets by like sixty percent. You know how tickets should work? As an a la carte to be able to replay old events or events they missed. For example, I didn’t start playing until after the clone Pokémon came out. How am I suppose to get those? Trading? GTFO of here. Give me a one dollar ticket where I can get the spawns from that event on top of the normal spawns. 5) Restructure raids and gigantimax so that no more than eight people are required. 6) give players the ability to personally ban a certain mon or two and moves in pvp. That way, these BS players who use giratina would only get matched up against other BS giratina players because all of the good people who play would personally ban it. 7) Also have one region locked mon in one star raids that way people won’t have to spoof to complete their dex.
DAN, i highly recommend pivoting to pocket. You would love the game. It’s easier to grasp than TCG. I don’t play TCG and am very good at battling on pocket (I’ve gotten all the pvp awards etc.). I took the $20 I would’ve spent on niantic, and got pocket packs instead. And i am so so happy with the decision. Pocket is on the up, while GO is on the down
It’s also a monetization problem.
@@DarkKerialstraz It's crazy how you completely missed the point of what he was saying that badly.
As seen on your Discord server, but posting here to a somewhat different audience, my favorite suggestion for how to fix the GBL league problem:
All three of Open GL, UL, and ML every week, plus one limited cup each week, with past cups that were fun and balanced for two weeks, and new experimental things for one week (and then bring them back for two weeks in the future if they work well).
#hearusniantic
queue times for the limited cup would be atrocious
@@Bean._. Not sure what you mean by "queue times"?
@@joshsmift716 How long it takes the game to find another trainer to match you up against
I guess essentially what Steranka is actually saying is, “We want people to give us more money while we give them the bare minimum in return because we genuinely don’t care and we know you’ll still play anyway.”
God I wish that dude would just fuck off so the game would at least be somewhat decent again.
It should have been existing pokemon, then I would have participated. I have not even touched the dynamax garbage.
there was something interesting that happened last week where all the new mcdonalds spawned kyurems [by accident] and i think that was the best thing that happened in a while lol especially because latios/latias are so annoying to defeat and catch .. considering black/white kyurem may be the big catch of the tour coming.. A surprise shock raid is exciting especiallly with a meta relevant raid boss .. the surpise raids got people to actually coordinate and plan raid hour but it was only a mistake and one day only
The only way is not buying anything. As long as people buy the tickets? It makes sense they
Even as a player who’s played for a year and this is only my second Christmas event.
Even the new players are getting a raw deal out of this game when to get the exciting features that we used to get for playing this game in these holiday/halloween events,l for free, you now have to pay for…I mean, look at this week pvp, little cup and master league… they simply don’t care…
i cant even remember when was the last time i grinded the game, i just keep playing gbl with what i have and still make it to veteran every season
Man try 8+ years now that is bad! Lol
Gen 5 Larvesta is egg locked
Gen 6 Aegislash is nowhere
Gen 7 Mimikyu is invisible
But the tickets go up from 1doler per event to just about 5 dollars now for every event
Getting 1 new pokemon per month is a disgrace.
Yeah! We are still waiting! They might end up doing a Big Pay Wall!
This December comm day is awful. Only upside is the 2023 legacy moves, not a single thing from 2024 worth going after
As a newer player I'm happy to get meteor mash on my shadow beldum.
I miss Pogogrind. Had tier lists and everything. His teams were always the best
"hoot hoot wearing a new years hat, OLD" 🤣🤣🤣
Ya for real wtf is the point of max raids like what the hell you can’t even use them for anything else it’s insane
Dust?, dynamax givez you 25k dust, outside of that i see no point tho
I have created many challenges within the game for myself to keep encouraged. LVL 50x2, hatch 15k eggs etc. That statement hit really close to home, Dan 😂
I Still Walking Mons for Best Friends! Lol it keeps me bz!
Honestly bad events are just a good reason to take a break from it.
When I found out smeargle was banned for holiday cup after it came out I decided to play it because it sounds fun now, but then saw that there is a new visual bug on GBL that has been making it borderline unplayable so I put it back down
21:13 BOOOOOOOM
@@PoniesNSunshine exactly. the shop barely has anything of value unless you drop a lot of money on it.
See my post above: the pokemon aren't on Niantic's timetable. It's entirely up to Gamefreak.
Is like with mega legendaries you get 8 to 10 balls crazy. Is like they have the Niantic meeting and are like how can we destroy the game 😂
You mentioned the trifecta: Can Kommo-o learn Dragon Breath?
The most frustarating thing for me is that Niantic is quite clearly choosing to ignore their playerbase. For a while, Niantic have just refused to acknowledge constructive criticism and feedback from players under the guise of 'this is our plan for the development of the game'. When players have issues with certain aspects of the game, such as the amount of tickets for every event, what do they do? add more tickets, sometimes even multiple tickets per event. Of course, this is an ultimately unsustainable way of managing the game and is the perfect way to create a toxic relationship between the developer and the players.
Why does nobody talk about how cool the G. Zigzagoon ComDay was? And why there hasn’t been another like it?
Niantic has a contract with the city of NY for a few years of Go Fest.
Subscription service for stardust coming soon 😂
And even paying for the tickets you don't even get what you want. Is like after the pandemic they decided to run pokemon go like a scam.😂
In the words of Home Slice Henry : “ Niantic!? Fixed Your Game… My God!!!”
They Will Never Do It! lol
We appreciate every single Dan content...
🤝 GGs
So there's an interview w a staff artist where they confess it's not Niantic's discretion on when new Pokemon get released (shinies excepted). If so, we can assume it's on Game Freak/Creatures' timetable.
If it works the way I'm familiar with, they wouldn't even be able to get costume approvals without GF approval, because that's a spin on their IP.

We should get at least 10 GBL sets a day 😭
I can’t tell you the last time I spent money in this game.
Sure it's had some peaks but in general it's been in decline since then
They just keep re releasing the same stuff, we got what, 3 new legendaries this year? And 2 of them were just new forms of old ones.
Oooh, I watched that video. He seemed so sad and exhausted
18:17 wurmple with a party hat haha whoopedy dooo! That's my reward for loyalty Niantic? 💩💩💩
Unova Tour needed to be in New York
Recently, these events have been treated like just regular events, with boring spawns and any actual new or interesting content being locked behind raids, paid research or eggs.
even as a new player the costume pokemon aren't anywhere as abundant as the halloween ones. doesn't even feel like the featured spawning pokemon are special at all besides delibird. like how is alolan diglett holiday themed? xd
Damn spheal with the scarf every fucken year lol
These past couple of months in Pokémon Go have shown how lazy and stale Niantic has gotten and as long as their greedy money hungry are making money they really don’t care, but of course you have the “Niantic Defenders” and their pets and minions to back them up 😅
!! Everybody don't worry niantic are rolling out Pokémon playgrounds, the games saved 😂😂😂😂😂😂
The game needs the meh weekly events just for newbs to catch up. Ignore that
Been playing since 2016. You are definitely not alone in your thoughts. The game is meh.
Which dusk mane i should build for master league 15/14/15 or 15/15/14
15/15/14
I have been playing less and less go and more TCG
I am currently in rank 10 in GBL and at least 1/3 of the players I encounter have legendary poses.. this says a lot about the current situation of GBL..
It says nothing. It means you and legend players are playing similarly to each other.
The only thing that’s says is that they are taking the easy way out!?
Why go all out with the rest when they can wait for the easy games to climb easy!
Many do this they wait a week or 3 to start playing bc of this! Easy wins easy climb!
@ssj2trunks103 no it literally means there are not that many new players in gbl.
If you are not having fun with the game, then stop playing.
I’m sure this year I must of bought 500-700 in coins, to note how much more money some of us are spending, granted I am an adult and instead of buying other games on console I spend on this game, frankly I’m tired on the same bs over and over.
brother, that's nuts.
Costume Pokémon are so overrated
More like complainer tips
We used to get 100 coins per day. Also during holiday or new years we used to get a free incubator every day we spun a poke stop
