Joni Mitchel
John Martyn
Jason Charles Beck
I have been listening to this song for close to 5 years. I am so glad to know that something like this exist and is in my life. It is priceless to me.
Same here. I had the opportunity to attend a concert of chilly and he actually played this song at the end, it was amazing!
I know what you feel
Played classical piano for 25 years and finally gave it up when family et all arrived. If I had known about this kind of music back when I might still be playing. Different kind of hooks inside you. You have another fan Chilly.
You should get a copy of his Re-introduction etudes :) ruclips.net/video/XuG0WmTKEqk/видео.html
@@CementStaircase if a second opinion is called for, I don't really like them. I find a lot of his solo piano pieces more fun to play and there're definitely easy ones too like evolving doors for example.
I'm studying "knight moves", it's amazing play it. Your fingers litterally enter in a new world and you loose control of everything.
Do you play the Version, he is playing in this Video?
Please I need help, im stuck right before where the "chill" part with the alternating chords starts. aprox. 3:40 I would really love to play this version and as im fairly new to the piano it was hard work so far and i dont want it to be wasted. Could you help me out?
@San Holo
If I understood you correctly you meant the part in which he is quickly alternating between left and right hand, while holding the sustain pedal all the way through. In my opinion this part is improvised upon the chords from the beginning. So left hand plays something similar as in the beginning (G minor 7 | Eb | F | C minor) and the right hand improvises in thirds or fourths in the G minor scale. This is at least what I am getting from this clip. I hope I could be of help!
MrMajoReloaded thanks 🙏
Where did you find the sheet music? I can't find anything for this version, only the simplified original recording.
i will always go back to this ... oh god how underrated
Thumbs up if you give more than one like for this masterpiece
An absolute master at work.
A “friend girl” just turned me on to Chilly a few minutes ago. Wow ! Thanks Carolyn !
Thanks Chilly, enjoyed “Knight Moves” immensely !.
Johns Island, SC, USA
I had the opportunity of experiencing this piece live a few days ago in Dusseldorf. Absolutely special. In this extreme part (here around 05:35) I was pretty much blown away and almost thought he would be starting screaming or something. :-) The special thing is that it still sounds so amazing.
Pff I'm so jealous of you, internet stranger!
Oh crap, I unfortunately had no idea such a musical genius even existed until a few days ago, and now I have to read that I would have had the opportunity to see Chilly live around the corner... maybe anytime soon! This guy is incredible!
For us it was at Bordeaux, France,
It moves me to tears and a feeling of bliss
5:45 earthquake! I love him! I think I have listened to this video 287028302983822902802 times since 2017. Come to Paris soon!!!!
It’s like flying in a dream
Melodious, dissonant , romantic extravagant ... a sound designer just with the piano .. No need for extra effects ! He does it all on his own without the assistance of a computer
One would mistaken him for a computer
The original track is amazing but this is a whole other level to watch you play that on the piano, really blew my mind there !
Ah si j'avais été là ! J'aurais réclamé Knight Moves qui est ma track préférée de l'album et j'aurais pris une sacrée tarte ! Si c'est ça Chilly en live je viendrai à ton prochain passage en France.
Knight Moves - Sweaty Gonzales
02:09 - 02:15 reminds me a lot of "Cafe del mar" from Energy 52 ♥ Love it!
Always sounded so familiar!
2:12 wow!!...amazing!!!......
I have fallen off a cliff
and now I am flying
Where are his robe and his slippers? I'm confused.
the slippers are there
French dress code sorry
Chilly Gonzales, Nils Frahm, Dios, y algún que otro pianista...
Naaa, edito: olviden a Nils.

This man Decided Chopin wasn't for him So went His own way ;)
Did he decide that? They aren't a million miles apart, Chopin found it really hard setting a composition in stone by committing it to paper and Chilly has spoken about a similar apprehension about making recordings.
I think he still needs to play etudes to keep his fingers flexible, unfortunately
Chopin ? More than a century ago Chopin was cool and out of his World. So is gonzo now.
De otro planeta descubrirte ha sido un placer

He literally just gave them his soul and some of the audience will never comprehend that.
So what? Focus on what you get from it instead of what others are missing.
