Kinda, an I've made more money than I or my family would ever need, but I'd like to have a SB ring type contract. Maybe $25m a year, where we could also have enough money to add some important pieces to the team. Thinking Kirk would take that deal is naive for sure though.

TBH, I think it was best to move no matter what his price tag was. He isnt the guy to carry a team to a SB, we've both seen that first hand over the last 6 years. I'd rather start over at the position and build up the roster. @@benpeterson7530

The NFL can do just about anything they want. Fines, lost draft picks, and giving the offending team's draft pick(s) to the offended team. We will have to wait and see what happens. Might be nothing, might be minimal, or it might be a really big deal. The NFL is somewhat unpredictable that way. Would be nice if the NFL was more consistent in my opinion.

Didn't Cousins literally clarify later in the press conference he was on the phone with Falcons coaches after his agent agreed on terms, and he was on his way to Atlanta? It sounds like Pitts and some of the other players had been talking with him before that, but that's far from illegal and players communicate like this literally every offseason. Absolutely nothing will come of this lol, this isn't like Raheem Morris called up Cousins himself like in the Maclin case.
I understand tampering while coaches and players are still playing games it hurts the on field product. However, a team talking to an injured player who is a free agent early doesn't actually hurt anybody.
Especially when the current team has no desire to do a large long term deal. It's not like the Vikings were even in the same zip code, much less the ballpark, of the deal Atlanta was offering

Most important point I agree on in this video is that the NFL's inconsistent rules application is a problem.
We not only see this with the tampering thing, but we also see it with on field.
We see games where the game is called a certain way but then on the last drive all of a sudden the pushing and shoving is called completely differently and Tiki-Tac penalties change the outcome.
So I would agree that if there's one thing that the NFL could most benefit from improving on it is consistent application of the rules at all levels.
Because if the inconsistent application of the rules more than anything that makes people question the integrity

Now that it is final, the Vikes can move forward with Darnold and maybe the team will perform better than expected. I just think they should've made this move with Darnold two years ago if this is today's outcome. Not much forethought on mister analyticals' part, in my opinion. I wanted the team to dump Cousins and go with Darnold, or commit to Cousins long term so he would not have a chance to do what he just did! Our GM has no brain for this game! Period!

There were only two teams that could have even payed Kirk the Bears and the Falcons. .. it made the most sense for him to go to atlanta to a team that is close. The best offer minnesota could have offered kirk was probably a good 10-15 mil a year less and be cap mindful.
Perhaps they should just let Minney and Atlanta swap the 8 and 11 as an apology? Would be good for Minnesota since it would help them require less ammo to move into the top 3 for a QB.
He is asking if a team tampered during legal tampering after the player agreed to deal with the falcons and told the Vikings he was not coming back. If something went wrong in that period it's probably a fine but it's not like they tamper to get a player to come joining the team if he already agreed to join the team on the first day of legal tampering.

I hate when people flaunt rules and laws. They should apply to every team and player within the NFL. If the Falcons do this and don't get punished what's to say they do it again...Is that fair? Or if the Falcons do this again next signing period...Do you punish them then or does the NFL look the other way again? If the rule does not matter then get rid of it. If it applies, enforce it.

I think that Kirk Cousins triple-jumping across the line was him just telling the truth as he sees it. Sometimes archaic rules need to be removed. This is one of those moments. Just let it be an open market right after the SB. Only two teams made it that far, the others have had, if they were great, had 2+weeks to get their acts together, and start working on dealing with the FA period. Just move the date up to then and all these supposed issues will disappear.
Oh thank goodness...another "high profile tampering scandal" for Florio to bleat about for the next year. Hopefully this will allow him to finally move past the Gannon to AZ situation he hasn't been able to let go.

The Vikings front office obviously did not want Kirk back. They didnt extend him last year when he offered to take a team friendly deal. The vast majority of fans are glad he's gone. We are happy that ATL blew him away with an offer. But if we can get a draft pick back from it (I seriously doubt it) we will take it! lmao. So thank you ATL for taking Kirk off our hands, and MAYBE thank you for the extra draft pick??
