One of my favorite dishes. The Cuban population would add pork, black beans, chicken, and/or shrimp or fish. It's kind of like jambalaya but without all the spices. My Cuban friends and family members have taught me much about how they would preserve foods without refrigeration. Teddy's got the right idea....hanging out by the chef's chair.
Very nice! The simplest, but one of the tastiest meals you can make is with a can of cooked Great Northern beans and canned ham,(or Spam, luncheon loaf, etc.), or dried country ham. If you simmer them together, it is a quick approximation of real slow-cooked Ham and Beans. It can be salty, but if you add some black pepper along with some quick rice, easy rice, or small, fast-cooking grain, it will stretch it and be less salty. You can add some green beans, peas, and/or carrots to make a bigger and well-rounded meal.
❤ ! Great idea. It made me think of meals in a jar using instant/minute rice , tomato powder and the seasonings. My mom used to make Spanish rice with ground beef added.
The rice looks delicious. Like the simmer mat. The Asian Market sells a four pack of butane cans for $8.50! I was impressed by how big and clean it was. Asian and American products at lower prices . Thanks A.G.
Looks delicious! I'll definitely try this one. One of my favorite quick meals is McCormick's White Chicken Chili. You just need 1 lb of cooked chicken (fresh, canned, or dehydrated), 1 can of northern beans, 1 cup of water, and the McCormick spice mix packet. You can add cheese , onion, or other toppings. It's perfect for a quick meal and easy to make. It would be great for granny camp!
Was in Anchorage this week, winter is here! And Spanish Rice is on the menu; mmmmmmm. So tasty with fried pork chops (get them a little fatty!). You pick the most appropriate meals for the seasons' turn.
Thats the way I like to cook. Simple and easy. Made a trip to Wal Mart today. Had a list of your suggested items like the pulled pork and mixed veggies. I never thought about such items before.
Very delicious! Simple, I like that. With black beans, yum. The Simmer Pad! 👍 Have to find them, excellent knowledge to have. Found gluten free rice crispy cereal at Winco for $1.97 a box. Excellent as the original Rice Krispies GF is no longer sold in the US. Other brands maybe pricey? I was happy to find this as there is no malted barley in it. I’m going to try a bit with some protein drink poured over it. Thanks AG! Stay warm! 🥰🇺🇸
Pretty sparkle nails💅 ❤it! I really have got to get a defuse, it says out of stock. Know spanish rice I'm in the lower SW Miami, yum. Off topic but I seen a great safety protection tip from a utuber named Pam & she said she (as an elderly person) she walks with a bat (yes she showed it) but she said she puts a long sock over it because if anybody tried to grab her bat if needed for defense she said they can't get a good grip on it & I know some ladies have one beside the bed. I thought this was a great idea. Personally, beside my bed sends out a click. Tks Keep hurricane counties in prayers bc its not only wet but getting cold at night.
Just Google Jesus christ of latter day saints food storage and it will send you where you need to go. I've bought multiple cases from them and the shipping is very cheap!!

That looks good. The simmering mat is a good idea.
Poor Teddy was disappointed, but I'm sure he got a good meal, too.

Was watching one of your videos about long term food storage, do you have a link for the LDS or Amish #10 cans you purchase?

Where did you get the simmer pad sweetie, I looked on Amazon and could not find the one you used. Thank you
Try walmart they had them last time I looked
There are other heat diffusers that you can use, but I think hers is spelled "SimmerMat" without space.
I wonder if you could make it in your stainless insulated container. It would stay warm for a while like that.🤔
Does Teddy get some of the rice?
Yes, he always gets a taste.
