    What a perfect topic! Thank you! Please do more of these! 💗
    We had two emergencies this past year and I used my meal bag dinners both times.
    The most helpful were the precooked pasta and precooked meatball packets. I added garlic crackers, parm cheese and two mini bottles of red wine.
    I did another for lunch: The Campbell chunky soups were useful for that. I put two cans of soup, canned veggies, a box of crackers and a package of cookies in one large baggie.
    For breakfast I had a larger sized baggie with little cans of coffee, oatmeal cups, dried cranberries/ nuts packets, a box of “ pop tarts” from the DT and a container of dry Nido. I promise you-these minimal prep baggies got us through the time when the circumstances were less than ideal.
    I now have large baggie meals for snacks, for when a person feels ill and for less convenient meals when the circumstances aren’t bad but the convenience is appreciated. This idea is a life saver! 💗

      Now that's a thinking woman right there! I love the mini bottles of wine added to the precooked meatballs. I had no idea that was even available! Were they the Hereford? I'm definitely checking them out! Great ideas and I'm so glad you had them when you were in an emergency situation.

    We live in a wooded area with pine trees. With all the forest fires going on these past few years, i have some of these meals ready to grab and go in a hurry. I recycle shipping boxes that hold hold about 4 quick meals like these. I label them with the meal name and what each contains and include plastic ware napkins and condiments collected from. fast food Several of these are stored in a convenient place so we can grab and go in our rv. We keep them rotated by using when we go camping or just when we dont feel like cooking.

    • @AlaskaGranny

      I understand the fear of forest fires. I have a few large rainbird type sprinklers on tall stands to keep my woods watered. We had terrible fires in Alaska a few years ago, and I was so worried my property would be affected. I also made a plan with my neighbors in case of wildfire emergencies.

    You can pour hot water in a high mil freezer bag and eat directly out of them . Lots of people do that on trail instead of carrying a dirty bowl for a few days. Especially with anything tuna , the residual smell stays even after a few proper washes.

    Instant coffee😊 they also have instant coffee individual packets that I carry in my EDC as well as keep in the vehicle. Instant coffee is a forever food the heat and cold doesn't destroy it. I put together all kinds of meals from freeze dried meals, meats, vegetables and fruit. You can purchase freeze dried goods and put your own together. Just add water and heat. I also freeze dry the marshmallows, nice sweet treat. Can goods are heavy, so I opt to have light loads to carry.

    You could take a can of the bean soup you showed and a bottle of water,a PKG.sleeve of saltine crackers and a small tiny canned ham.Then you have ham to add in your bean soup and you have ham on crackers and to make the bean soup with some of the canned ham you can make it thinner consistency with some of the water..Also put in a powder packet of pure kick energy black cherry pomegranate drink mix from dollar general or Walmart carrys them for your bottle of water to drink.they have other flavors too but,l really love the one here l mentioned.

    I have my mother's old drip coffee maker, but since the pot is ceramic and could break, I bought a stainless steel French press for about $20. Then we found a plastic one on clearance at our grocery store for about $4. Well, someone else can have coffee is worse comes to worse.

      @ravenlaughs9757 3 месяца назад

      Yes the food is mostly poisoned. Most Americans don't care. I opted to make everything from scratch avoiding the poisons, but it is a learning curve and a investment in equipment. My health is the most important asset I have so to make sure I eat only good wholesome food. I am pushing 70 and a great grandmother, do not take any medicines opting to making my own. Go to the doc once a year for blood tests and a MRI. I was cured of lung cancer or what they say in remission, praise God. You are what you eat and your food is your medicine. Those can goods and prepackaged items may seem like a good deal but lots of chemicals and unknowns just not worth it for me.

    When we travel across country in the RV on vacation we like to take our lunch breaks at a truck stop or in a Wal-Mart parking lot before we change drivers. Usually at these stops we can get a freshly made sub sandwich loaded with raw veggies or a packaged salad. We try to avoid buying greasy and expensive fast food burgers and fries. But sometimes the lunch break finds us in the middle of nowhere such as rural New Mexico or rural Arkansas without any grocery stores or restaurants in sight. That is when it is good to have brought along individual serving size packets of peanuts, almonds, cashews, beef jerky strips, cheese sticks, protein bars, small oranges, a couple of bananas or other no-cook, high calorie snack foods just in case we do not want to make sandwiches with the food in our RV's refrigerator. Any raw fruit we to do not use that day, we can eat the next day for breakfast.
    If you have to evacuate at short notice, you can usually find individual serving size snack foods at truck stops and service stations when you eventually stop to refuel. If the budget is tight and you are feeding multiple people, just buy a box of saltines and a jar of peanut butter and get a free plastic spoon or plastic knife near where the hot dogs are sold. The adult passenger can assemble little peanut butter and cracker sandwiches while the other adult is driving and pass the food back to the children. This will tide you over until it is time to stop for the night and get a more substantial meal for the family. Those little shelf stable boxes of chocolate milk or plain milk that come with straws (get at Wal-Mart or a dollar store) are also good to hand out to passengers while traveling because these beverages are harder to spill on the vehicle's upholstery. And save that plastic bag the store clerk put your purchases in because that bag becomes your vehicle's trash bag.
