I noticed something on the train this morning. My car was about half full with mostly Caucasian customers. 2 black men got on the train and you can tell from their garbs that one was a delivery guy and the other looked to be in construction. One lady who was sitting down (she was in the same seat for at least 10 stops) moved down to be further away from them. Another lady lifted her head from her phone and stared at them to assess the situation. It took her a minute to determine that these guys posed no threat. That is when I determined that what they say is indeed true, BLACK MEN are THE MOST feared (and consequently HATED) people in this entire WORLD!! VeRy SAD!
For real , whenever I’m in a white neighborhood I feel so uncomfortable and a sense of danger. even dangerous neighborhoods I don’t feel as uncomfortable.
Black people are to nice for our own good 1 word Columbus. Clothed him, fed em, taught there dumb as to grow crops n survive to the winter, even showed him how to get back home--caise his dumbass thought the world was flat while we already have established trade with our fellow Bros n sister in Africa. What thnx did we get. When will we learn It's time to listen to who they tell us not to!!! They never wanted us, just our money bc our business did astronomically better than theirs. The biggest bank in America at the time was the MnF in Durham. Tulsa, NC Durham, Wilmington. beautiful black wallstreets doing better than you could imagine. Here they come to steal, kill,a ND destroy. It NEVER stops and it will never end. I want a reservation!!! We have to save ourselves from them somehow! Y'all thought asking for a city or state was stupid do!-look where we'd be
I get what the teacher was trying to measure in the assignment. I think she was trying to measure bias towards certain groups, or types of people, but this is not something you introduce to middle schoolers. If this was something done in a college course then it could be justified. I studied Sociology in college and we created similar types of questionnaires like this. However, this was NOT something appropriate for middle school students.
Age is an important metric when measuring social responses. Only asking mature adults these questions won't yield much information. However, if you can compare their answers with those of a younger focus group, you can then make comparisons and be able to draw conclusions on the progression of social tolerance over time and among age groups. This is a legitimate research topic. The response to it was nothing more than a PC hissy fit.
A. Williams prejudices don't just randomly appear when you turn 18... this was the perfect age to broach such a topic.. teach the kids to acknowledge differences and combat their own prejudices young
A. Williams I majored in Sociology in college. I think middle school is an appropriate age because they are old enough to have developed prejudices but young enough to change them. By their college years their mindset is pretty much fixed.
A. Williams I agree Middle school is a good age...I honestly think she started down this path but lost her nerve and backed off....she should've just followed through with it
Agree. If they were discussing cultures, why can't they take a confidential survey to help them in understanding their own biases towards others? It would've been different if she was pushing inappropriate ideas.
Oh really? Then why take back all the Surveys as soon as a student mentioned showing it to her parents. Why was the teacher fired if it was perfectly ok. Ya'll woods pretending to be black are a joke
@Talkingduringthemovie you sound dumb. If your stupid ass don't see she was clearly stereotyping people, as well as being racist you're dumber than you look.
Lubna Hussain True, but for all we know their home environment may be teaching them that. It's important to catch these things early so kids can recognize it within themselves and other people.
Ok but please don't act like teacher wanted to see if the kids were racists or not, if she didn't intend harm then why did she took the papers away from the kids as soon as they said we'll show it to our parents? She knew what she was doing and she knew it was wrong. Plus if the kids already said "this is wrong we shouldn't answer this" then the problem is with the teacher not the kids....
@Lubna - Not necessarily... folks are uncomfortable with the topic.... see trigger words and reject the discussion. It compromises their beliefs, but the topic must be discussed. Kids need to know what's going on in the world since their parents are not educating.
Um...I don't see how this is really that wrong. It's a mental excercise and I feel like the point was to pull prejudice that people that talk about to the front of the conversation to be addressed. I could be wrong but if that was her intention maybe she's right. Maybe we need to talk about this shit. Maybe we need to talk to our kids about racial and gender and sexual prejudices so that we can point out the flawed logic that creates it. I'm not necessarily with you on this Cthagod.
Jeremiah Chambers it’s one sided, not once was anything about white people being mentioned. The outrage is that it highlights a white dominated world where whites don’t have to face reality. That’s the bias that is shown. It is fair, but at the same time it was not fair.
100 Proof No Chaser they put nothing about white ppl as if blacks and foreigners are problems. What about the black students? As if we don't experience discomfort against white ppl
This is interesting, the woman is fired and gets Donkey of the day for trying to expose and challenge different biases these children may have, while they are still young and it is possible to provided them with new information to help mold their thoughts, rather than wait until they are older when they are no longer willing to take in new information. How is this a bad thing?
The teachers intensions were not clear. The assignment was not explained, it seemed like she was up to something. Obviously, it wasn't sanctioned, or approved by the principle, or school board. There are a lot of people who are teachers, doctors, police officers, judges; who are biased, racist, and continue the narrative, not end it.
@@teresaburch23 I don't feel like there is enough context. Was she a social studies teacher? It doesn't sound as if she was targeting a specific subject, but many subjects that we face in society today. I swear the amount of sensitivity that people are feeling can't be good for growth. We all want to deal with prejudices, but then shoot down efforts if it doesn't meet our standards. Now if she did have another motive, I stand corrected. But from the information provided, it just doesn't translate into malice.
I'm uncomfortable going in a school called Sandy Hook in Newtown, CT I'm uncomfortable going into a movie theatre in Aurora, colorado I'm uncomfortable going bible study in a church in Charleston, SC I'm uncomfortable going into a federal building in Waco, TX I'm uncomfortable going into a high school in Columbine, colorado I'm uncomfortable going to a Public Health Service building in Tuskegee, Alabama. I'm uncomfortable going into Virginia Tech University And lastly I'm uncomfortable anytime I see this 🚔 behind my car. So these examples should have also been on that comfortability test.
I don't have an issue with this if her intention was to start a conversation about and challenge their potential biases. 12 year olds have been subjected to messages about these groups and it's never too early to talk about prejudice.
Am I the only one who doesn't see anything wrong with what she did? The purpose of the assignment was to show students possible prejudices they didn't think they had and how they can learn to overcome those prejudices. We did this exact assignment in my college race and ethnicities class. Nothing wrong with what she did. Middle school is the perfect age to discuss these issues before they reach high school.
Diana Sam, I'm shocked that people are so offended by this exercise. These types was questionnaires have been standard social science tools for years. The purpose is to uncover and confront prejudices and bias that undoubtedly exist.
Diana Sam no your not. I have these conversations with my daughter all the time since she was young. I started when she was like 4. she saw a little girl in target who was severely disabled. She ran to me crying saying that she was scared loud enough so the disable child's mother overheard. I didn't run from it I confronted it. I took my daughter who was clinging for dear life to my leg over and apologized. I asked what the child name was and I respectfully asked if she could explain what was the disability to my daughter. I consciously use real life as teaching moments . I teach my daughter that everyday you will meet people that won't talk or look like you. You can acknowledge the difference, give respect, and get to know the person. There reaction is almost like they are hiding from the known prejudices/differences We need to confront it so we can move on.
KCK ROX Key word: Your daughter. This teacher is not their parent. Maybe the parent was eventually going to get to these topics, but it is the right of a parent to have these discussions... especially about sexual orientation and such. The questions were not age appropriate, and some parents may have wanted to discuss that stuff with their kids when they felt they were ready. It's okay to want a kid to be a kid. I think people need to stop exposing kids to adult stuff too early.
Hmmm this doesn't seem that bad. Sometimes you are put into situations where you have to react. Once, I got on a taxi and two other women were with me. The one next to me was a prostitute. I felt uneasy at first and then I felt bad for feeling uneasy and let it go. These are everyday situations we need to confront and not act like it's not something we think about. It is what is it. Should I lie and say I've never felt uneasy around black people? Should I clarify and mention I'm mexican and in the city I live there is tension between black and brown which means I could be harassed for no apparent reason? We all have prejudices. That's okay, it's what we do with those ideas that matters. Do I feel black people are bad people. No.
Idk.... I felt like it was a rational questionnaire.... I would like to know what the kids think about other cultures... the fact that they are offended shows that they have thought about these type of stuff before.... kids are innocent, but they aren't blind. btw if I had taken the questionnaire during my school years, the whole class would be laughing together. making jokes about it too, when I came around the black/comfortable question. I would look over my black classmate, give him a glimpse so he notices. circle very uncomfortable and show it to him lol then I'll erase it. lol did I grow up in a fucked up situation or are the kids today just too offended?
KreyzAim i agree. i felt like it wasn't that out of line for a questionnaire considering the class they were taking. i had a similar class in high school and everyone had fun in it and loved it. i think this generation can take political correctness too far sometimes. i dont think she should've been fired, just reprimanded.
KreyzAim this is america. Black ppl are apart of American culture ie. what Black ppl do is also OUR culture. this question is based on seperating/stereotyping Black as other. nothing funny about it.
TheBiancawonka but that was the point of the class and the exercise. She didnt just mention blacks, she mentioned gays, muslims and transgenders, all also apart of American culture. I believe her goal was to gauge the level of bias towards these groups (bc it does exist) and work through them so the students dont have them anymore.
Kara Beard If this was the case, and her rational was clearly to gauge the bias of the class, then there should have been no problem telling their parents or saying that she was gonna take the tests back up. i understand what you are saying, but it is just not enough proof that this teacher was doing that. and for middle school teens, thats some f'ed up test to take if you are black, gay, trans, or muslim. it seems like the test would only be comfortable to take and discuss if you are white, christian, and straight.
If you can't talk openly and develop introspection you're just going to absorb the day to day bias you're surrounded by. Then as soon as you meet someone from outside your bubble you may just respond with apathy AND ignorance. It's too bad this survey questionnaire was poorly done. Apathy and ignorance allows prejudice not questions, not necessarily...
why chardagod always trying to front on fla. I'm born raise here in tampa fla I'm a merchantseaman I've been all over the world and I've seen places that's way worst then fla. I worked on a ship in Charleston sc his hometown for 8 yrs and that place is number 1 in my book as far as racists and the police there are like fucking storm troopers.
The point was to plant those thoughts into young psyches; young minds. By the time they can vote; they will be ready to support the far right & or white nationalist organization(s).
if we could split my state in half, everything north of I-4 should be considered another state cause those are usually areas that weird shit starts to happen.
The questions on that questionnaire were HIGHLY inappropriate. Some of those questions were asking about their sexual preferences. These are children. I personally was less offended by the racial questions and more creeped out by her asking them about their (hopefully non existent) sex lives.
The lady is not racist. She understands how divisive this country is and she wants people to see their own prejudice and bias that they consciously did not know they had.
Charlemagne is so right, she's planting negative seeds in youth who don't even care about this type of stuff. This is a different generation, they're not as inhibited or fearful as past generations
sherristar89 At these kids ages they don't fully understand what the hell they're being asked so of course the answer for most is gonna be they're uncomfortable. That doesn't accurately measure anything plus she knew it was wrong which is why she didn't want them to show their parents. She knew she fucked up. (plus the questions were phrased correctly)
Olive D above thanks for a sensible reply..so the problem was the method of research. The questions should have been age appropriate and she should have asked for parental consent.
i dont understand what was wrong with this questionnaire. it was just questions she asked the students to see their views in different situations. like if your a lil old lady about to walking past a group of black men wearing hood at night. do you A cross the street B walk past them but you hold your purse tighter or C walk past them without a care in the world. some people deal with that feeling then they use that to make their next decision. the teacher probably just wanted see if the students even felt that way and if they did. why did they feel that way? that was a bad donkey of the day
I'm uncomfortable that so many people feel that the teacher did nothing wrong and that she shouldn't have been fired. if middle school children can recognize racism but grown adults can't or refuse to recognize it. that's the real problem. because at the end of the day if the teacher felt justified in what she was doing she shouldn't have tried to hide the questionnaire from the parents.or should have at least explain to the students FIRST on what is purpose of the questionnaire.
Reign Candy agreed saying dont show the parents and acting as if you were going to take the assignment back up is just wrong they teach bs in school anyways always have but this was something the principal and parents should have consent to before she thought the process through
Jedi King Pudge ???? All i got from this was adults think children are stupid, Americas trying to convince the next generation this culture and nation is inclusive of everyone or you shouldnt talk about the prejudice that exists, and this is a sick ass country seeing as how all of those questions are based on real everyday encounters. If they filled it out she couldve determined what their learning at home or how they think and worked through it in the classroom. Kids also say and do worst shit than this to each other so i dont get the outrage. I dont ever take up for these krakkas so yall bugging for real on this.
I don't see the problem with this however I know the teacher gives out permission slips for sex Ed as required so why would you not do the same for this?
don't think she should've been fired.. i mean if it's a class about tolerance they're constantly gonna be discussing differences between people seems like a semi reasonable way to assess their built in prejudice so she can know where to educate them to be honest, could've been worded better but she shouldn't be fired and given donkey of the day wtf ... i am black btw

Cant argue with u on that one lol
I don't care what color you are, if you suspect then you suspect and I'm keeping my eye on you if not avoiding you completely
ASK HER IS SHE COMFORTABLE STANDING IN THE UNEMPLOYMENT LINE.
If you tell kids they can't show their parents that's already a bad sign.
If you can't talk openly and develop introspection you're just going to absorb the day to day bias you're surrounded by. Then as soon as you meet someone from outside your bubble you may just respond with apathy AND ignorance. It's too bad this survey questionnaire was poorly done. Apathy and ignorance allows prejudice not questions, not necessarily...
my only concern, what is the takeaway from this assignment.
they're using reverse psychology. GET OUT.
How comfortable are black people around police officers? She should've asked that question. That's just stupid.
3:34 You find out your "Aunt" is really your Mom's lover? LMAO
Applications will soon be: White, African-American, Hispanic, Were You Born in FL? LOL
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I am a teacher and it makes me uncomfortable that there was a teacher out here doing this like this is messed up.
why chardagod always trying to front on fla.
By the time they can vote; they will be ready to support the far right & or white nationalist organization(s).
if we could split my state in half, everything north of I-4 should be considered another state cause those are usually areas that weird shit starts to happen.
florida def is two states in 1, coming from tampa
nah its the middle of fl thats crazy ... lol
K. dot Orange County is where this sorta shit happens. Not dade or broward.
No it is not It's mostly where all the whites are honey try again
This is kind of important information to survey students
I thinks it's ok to ask questions. but go on being blissfully ignorant.
I'm so comfortable with sarcasm lol
The questions on that questionnaire were HIGHLY inappropriate. Some of those questions were asking about their sexual preferences. These are children. I personally was less offended by the racial questions and more creeped out by her asking them about their (hopefully non existent) sex lives.
The lady is not racist. She understands how divisive this country is and she wants people to see their own prejudice and bias that they consciously did not know they had.
It's very useful to confront your own biases
ENVY DON`T KNOW WHAT PALESTINIAN MEANS!?!?!
He didn't give a damn
Charlemagne is so right, she's planting negative seeds in youth who don't even care about this type of stuff. This is a different generation, they're not as inhibited or fearful as past generations
I think I see what she was trying to do.. piss poor execution though
People have to become uncomfortable in order for people to take these topics seriously.. I liked the questionnaire
You're 12...
Not 2 !
"Grow Up" !!!
Smh. The ignorance of some people really shocks me sometimes.
I don't quite know what's wrong with this? ain't this similar to the black and white doll experiment or any other social experiment...I'm black btw
sherristar89 At these kids ages they don't fully understand what the hell they're being asked so of course the answer for most is gonna be they're uncomfortable. That doesn't accurately measure anything plus she knew it was wrong which is why she didn't want them to show their parents. She knew she fucked up. (plus the questions were phrased correctly)
Olive D above thanks for a sensible reply..so the problem was the method of research. The questions should have been age appropriate and she should have asked for parental consent.
your probably the only one who don't see nothing wrong with even the teacher knew it was wrong but not you
mate your part of the problem
i dont understand what was wrong with this questionnaire. it was just questions she asked the students to see their views in different situations. like if your a lil old lady about to walking past a group of black men wearing hood at night. do you A cross the street B walk past them but you hold your purse tighter or C walk past them without a care in the world. some people deal with that feeling then they use that to make their next decision. the teacher probably just wanted see if the students even felt that way and if they did. why did they feel that way? that was a bad donkey of the day
she definitely deserves the Donkey!!!
Reign Candy agreed saying dont show the parents and acting as if you were going to take the assignment back up is just wrong they teach bs in school anyways always have but this was something the principal and parents should have consent to before she thought the process through
Broward County thumbs up!
The truth will set you free. Freedom ain't as cheap as it used to be so most people can't afford to face it.
I'm glad the teacher was fired, the classroom be it elementary, middle or high school is NOT the arena for teacher's personal agenda's.
That's a long ass intro reduce that shit
In college I did a study that asked questions to gauge a persons bias. This test is best done in a college situation not for middle schoolers.
The question is where did she get the questionnaire? Those questions were presented for a specific reason. Thank goodness the kids spoke up...
Yes someone ask her that Last "Question..LOL ..the twist was funny
I hate hypothetical questions as well!!
LadyC109, That's standard fare for job interviews.
I get it. We introduce so many things to young kids and then get mad when someone ask about their comfort level.
You should of put the Remy voice on her! Hee haw Hee haw 😁😁😁
I'm uncomfortable with the teacher. Dear god, how did her interview go? How did she get there? Need to fire everyone in H.R!
I am still trying to figure out why is it wrong for a teacher to ask these questions
lemme get of topic real quick and say that the 25 second intro of donkey noises and distorted audio is so damn soothing
what class was this, what was the reason behind the questions? Am I the only one who think she was trying to start a conversation?
how comfortable are you when you're driving through FL and your car breaks down lol
It's the glades of Florida ppl ⬆✔
How comfortable are you when you win a trip to a tropical island but it's a long flight on United
I'm uncomfortable around anyone.
I'm beginning to think Florida and Chicago are some kind of MK Ultra/Super Chemtrail experiment.
who made the questionnaire? Clearly not the teach
These are sensible questions reasonable questions
the questionaire is real and asks polarizing questions relating to how you perceive specific groups of people. We are so damn sensitive these days.
The second the teacher refused to let you take the questionnaire home to their parents, I knew some bullshit was going on.
As others have said, I don't see the issue in challenging children at this age about (in)tolerance and perception.
My favorite segment
lmaoooo I'm at work dying when Charlemagne asks someone to ask the teacher if she is uncomfortable being fired !
Anything would make you uncomfortable if you’re not use to it.
She should have gotten permission first before she conducted this survey. Think about this now I can actually see the value of this survey.
don't think she should've been fired.. i mean if it's a class about tolerance they're constantly gonna be discussing differences between people seems like a semi reasonable way to assess their built in prejudice so she can know where to educate them to be honest, could've been worded better but she shouldn't be fired and given donkey of the day wtf ... i am black btw
jojohnviz12 but do you think there is a more appropriate way to do so in talking about such culturally painful issues like racism?
Me, my mom, my brother and my sisters all moved out of Florida. We all live in different states, but at least we all got the hell out of FL.
I live in Hernando County, Florida (for 3 years now) and this doesn't surprise me much since the black population is around 3%.
Education system is broken down even more
Simple question.
