    Beautiful unit, one of my favorite floorplans due to wardrobe slide opening the bed up. Fluffy friendly shower & optional entertainment seating. Home run for a small unit.

    Nice trailer and like the spacious bedroom and bedroom storage. Lack of windows in living space vs the traditional RL type floor plan. Nice looking compact trailer 👍

    We recently took possession of our new 2511 and have it nearly ready for our first camping trip. Developed a front pass through method for storing outside table and small step stool. Plus build some movable shelves to take advantage of the huge drop frame storage.

    We have the 2018 model which looks alike as far as I can see, The only the exception is that we have the booth versus the recliners. We LOVE this trailer. The first year we took it from Indy all the way out to Montauk on the end of Long island, with stops at West Point and along the way. We took it out 2 more times that season at 2 weeks each. Last year, we took it out 3 times, again for 2 weeks each, and it truly is a "home away from home". It is incredibly roomy and comfortable. The amount of storage is important with me (I like my "stuff") and there is a ton of storage, as you can see,, both inside and in the pass-through. We love being able to close the bedroom off since the two of us tend to run on different "clocks". The only thing I would change on this trailer is the limited outside view. The kitchen window is small, and unless you have the door open the view of the campsite side of the trailer is very limited. We like 3 windows in the slide-out and this just has two. There is just the one side window in the bedroom, though the wardrobe is definitely worth the trade-off. The huge front window is great!

      This model has been popular and hasn't changed much. Just a few tweaks here and there like seating and how they've adopted the always-on flip-up counter extension vs. the removable one (which I rather liked actually.

    I really appreciate your videos. All of your competitors seem to be in a race, like they are selling 80 units a day. If they are, Great. But I would really like to see the trailer, not just a blur. You are taking your time in showing these units.

    • @JoshtheRVNerd

      It's a huge time investment putting this footage together. I appreciate you recognizing that. It'd certainly be easier to make one of those speed racer type videos, but they make me sick when I try to watch them.

    Love the 2511s, with the exception with the limited natural light in the living area. Is it possible to get this with an added skylight in the living area. Or bigger windows around the seating. On an overall note, lots of praise to Haylett for the great videos and info.

    • @JoshtheRVNerd
      @JoshtheRVNerd  4 года назад

      Unfortunately no such allowances for extra skylights or anything like that are factored into the construction of almost any travel trailer -- these included.
      Thankfully their lighting package inside is EXCELLENT, but I certainly understand the preference for natural lighting as well!

    I actually was walking around a dealership down here that sells Flagstaff, and one of the salesmen ask me what I drove, which is a Tacoma, any pointed at the Flagstaff equivalent of this model and said that my Tacoma can tow that. I honestly hated too do it but I quickly corrected him. Thanks to all your wise words Josh I now know that the salesman knows what he's talking about or not....

    Does this trailer have the option for tank heating pads? Any issues with front caps leaking on these? I noticed it don’t have the same front cap as the ultra lites. Also would be great if you always showed floor construction under the slides on the outside. The undersides of a Rockwood slide looks a lot better than its competition. I also noticed the interior ceilings are more solid when knocking on them.

    • @JoshtheRVNerd
      @JoshtheRVNerd  5 лет назад

      *TANK HEATERS:* Yep! You'll find most of our Rockwoods feature that option
      *FRONT CAP DIFFERENCES:* That's because this is a Mini Lite, not an Ultra Lite. It's one of the largest mini lites, and with that drop frame storage it acts like a sort of "in betweener" or missing link
      *CEILINGS:* More solid because the roof is laminated, not hollow with household insulation. Neither type of construction is better -- just different.

    You mentioned "nudging the slide". I thought slides were designed to be either IN or OUT, and that stopping part-way could be damaging. Can you please clarify?

    • @JoshtheRVNerd
      @JoshtheRVNerd  5 лет назад +2

      *EXCELLENT QUESTION!* What's easily confusing are a few key specifics in phrasing as well as the type of slide involved.
      *THIS RV* features a rack & pinion slide. It can be opened/closed partially with no ill-effects. It is not intended to be used that way, but it's fine to nudge it, access something, then close it.
      *SCWINTEK SLIDES* (the ones with the silver worm gears on the sides of the slide out) are designed to be fully opened or closed. If you bump it once or your finger slips off the button, then don't have a heart attack. You just don't want to nudge/nudge/nudge it frequently.

  • @jamescampbell8833

    Josh do they make a hide a bed with cup holders in the arm rests? I have seen many hide a beds, but I have never seen one with cup holders in the arm rests. This floorplan is perfect for the L-lounge, but it does not look like it will fit in place of the theater seats.

    Been looking at the 2021 model. It has everything we want for a couples coach, including a fireplace that Jayco, Winnebago and Grand Design do not offer. Our tow vehicle is allotted 800lbs tongue weight and 8000lbs towing. How can I work with the 700lb tongue weight of this trailer so that I'm not overloaded on tongue weight?

    • @JoshtheRVNerd
      @JoshtheRVNerd  3 года назад +1

      That's where WDH'ing comes into play. Without getting too technical it basically redirects some of that tongue weight
      But before I can make any sort of "Oh you'll be Fine!" sort of promises I'd want one of our folks to take a little deeper dive into your vehicle vs. trailer desires to make sure we're heading down the right rabbit hole

    • @NewVisionLCS
      @NewVisionLCS 3 года назад

      @@JoshtheRVNerd Thank you Josh! A 700 empty tongue weight can easily be 800-850 loaded. So I guess my question is if I take the high number of 850, how much could I realistically get down to with a properly adjusted wdh?

    • @JoshtheRVNerd
      @JoshtheRVNerd  3 года назад +1

      @@NewVisionLCS "Roughly 30% in some cases" is the best I've ever been able to get from anybody regarding how much tongue weight a WDH transfers. But there's no hard rule there.
      You may investigate to see what sort of even minor suspension assist features may be available for your vehicle if this one is your preference.
      It's definitely in that upper range either way and will largely boil down to personal preference.

    • @NewVisionLCS
      @NewVisionLCS 3 года назад

      @@JoshtheRVNerd This information helps alot! The empty trailer weight is perfect at around 5700lbs. Due to disabilities, we need the closest slide. • @JoshtheRVNerd

      There is a lot of misinformation out there regarding the seasonality of Rockwood RVs. They are truly a top shelf brand, but they are not made for arctic camping. They are a spring/summer/fall camper & one of the best at what they do. You can option on 12v tank heaters, but that alone doesn't make something "four seasons."

      With these you can. Understand when you have a slide partially opened the wiper seals may have slight voids in them while they are half in/out (as the seal flips in/out)

    The only "fault" I find is the lack of the electric fireplace; think that's a nice option. Also, don't see/didn't hear if a booth dinette was available on this plan. Wish it did, as it would/should mean extra storage!

      *FIREPLACE:* They didn't want to lose the storage under the RV. Something like a surface mount aftermarket fireplace with a hinge to open could work very well however.
      *SEATING OPTIONS:* Mentioned in the video, but briefly. You can choose between theater, hide a bed + table, or booth with floating table. At the time of this reply we have a booth model in stock you can see here to compare: bit.ly/2zQG5vq
