- A soft and tender baked donut recipe that only takes 15 minutes! These donuts are extremely easy to make, taste just like a piece of cake and look adorable with a bright colored glaze and fun sprinkles. Perfect for birthdays, a weekend treat or even a wedding, these donuts can be customized to be any flavor you like.

Donuts►
7 ounces (198 g) all-purpose flour
6 ounces (170 g) granulated sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
2 ounces (56 g) vegetable oil
4 ounces (141 g) buttermilk room temperature
1 large egg room temperature
3 ounces (85 g) unsalted butter melted
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Glaze►
10 ounces (283 g) powdered sugar about 2 cups
2 Tablespoons water or milk add more water for thinner glaze, more sugar for thicker glaze
2 drops white food coloring I use Americolor gel
1-2 drops food coloring I use Americolor electric pink and

Excelente receta , gracias por compartir. A 400 °F tomo menos de 10 min pues las hice en formato mini. La consistencia es de torta, voy a cambiar a canela o rayadura de limón como sugeriste. Hi .. I tried this recipe and OMG!! they are WOW! And even when i used the nutmeg in it, my glace was lavender with lavender buds.. And they just complemented well they will be on my next party for sure. Thank you.

I used to make donuts every christmas, but since it was from an old recipe, it was the yeast type and would take hours to make them, i stopped. But i still miss having home made donuts around, so i want to make some cake donuts that wont take all night and keep me on my feet for 6 hours at a stretch. Im too frickin old for that. I could just go buy some, but store bought arent nearly as good as home made

It could be the humidity, but I've heard the flour can have something to do with how much water you need.
I tried this recipe but the batter turned out really thin and it's too sweet. Is it because I overmix it or I substitute oil for butter? I also forgot the procedure, I put egg and sugar first then mixed it (after I did it, I remembered that it's for sponge cake recipe 😅). It turned out like a donut sponge cake. 😅
And what about chocolate? Can we do it and how much I need to add?

No need! It can last on the shelf for a few months

Can you use something to replace it?
Milk and lemon. I never buy buttermilk (I don't live in US so the buttermilk here is expensive). For like a cup of milk I put a tablespoon of lemon juice, mix it well and leave it for at least 5 mins.
How many cups is 7 ounces of four?
Is this doughnut batter more like a cake batter or ?
I found it OK, you did say tender and cake like. I prefer the texture more like a doughnut and less sweet then these so that the icing adds some sweetness. These really didn't need icing thank you though.

Stopped at the oil part -- unless it's extra virgin olive oil, you may as well add motor oil. All vegetable/seed oils are chemically refined, bleached, and deodorized.
