  • The talk from Monday 19th October 2020 starting at the Hessle Foreshore - as signposted from the roundabout off the A63 to the Humber Bridge.
Until January 2021 (no doubt later...) flood defences are being installed and parking is limited to the Black Mill car park (free) or from the Country Inn (£1/hour) or from the Country Park car park - but this is limited to the lorry park as the huge public car park is a Covid testing centre!
You can walk along the bridge - West side only at the moment. The steps are at the bottom of the Countryside car park (you can walk up here from Black Mill). It's 3 miles to the centre of Barton-upon-Humber (although there is the Ropework Gallery, Old Tile Works and the Waters' Edge Visitor Centre all in close proximity along the bank of the Humber. Check for opening times).
Barton-upon-Humber will be a talk on Monday 26th October 2020.

Great vlog, but I was disappointed that you spoke so much about Hessle, yet, you didn’t visit the town. I was born in the maternity hospital in North Ferriby and lived in Hessle until I emigrated to Australia in 1986. It would have been nice to see a little of the town you spoke so much about. I have subscribed to your channel and liked the blog. Humber Bridge Country Park is, and has been known to locals as Little Switzerland for generations.
