Easily one of the greatest songs ever written. Never mind the fact that Chris Issak's voice sounds as good live, as it does on his soundtracks, is truly amazing.
@Cocky Rocky Well, my friend metalhead, I am in solidarity with you! I listen to DSBM and Black Metal, but I come back here from time to time. There is something about this song that attracts you like a magnet. Also, to relax my soul, I listen to rumba and flamenco, at the same time I learn to play this music (I do not forget about black metal). You have a pretty good musical taste. Be healthy. Greetings from Ukraine :)
Я помню, как лежал на диване и слушал эту песню до 9 утра, я не ложился спать. Ох, как же мне было больно в другом прошедшем лете. Жаркое лето напоминает мне эту песню, и то, как меня предали..
Although, Chris didn't really write that famous guitar line. James Wilsey did. And played it. And then he (James) died. And Chris gave him no credits. What a great guy Chris is (sarcasm).
This song takes me back to my college spring break trip of 1990 to Key West, FL. I went with a bunch of crazy guys to chase the girls. However, I was the straight laced chill guy of the bunch. While they partied like animals I met this beautiful chill girl who was the outlier like me from her bunch of crazy girlfriends. While they all went bar and beach partying we slipped away and went to see the sights, eat good food, and have great conversations in the humid south Florida night air. Those six days with her were so incredible. No sex, just a true connection of souls. For whatever reason neither of us ever followed up with one another after that. It was before mobile phones and social media which made connecting over distance a challenge. I'd love to talk a walk and have a long talk with her again😢. I hope she is well.
My mom and my dad danced to this song together, don't know the year or the date but it was the 90's. It's been 5 years since dad is gone, i miss you.. I always tell to myself, when i will have a loving woman as my dad had, i'll dance with her to this. Hope my dad will see that moment while laying in the clouds
He will...and your heart is open to true love, that's good... Don't stop looking until you find it; and you will find it. Love takes work, sacrifice on both ends, commitment by both, and in my opinion, chemistry that is undefineable...oh, and you both have to want the same things, values wise and lifestyle wise. Lots of people gloss over that, and lie about what they do and do not want to make themselves more attractive to someone, but that's lying and it will never work...gotta be homest with each other and especially to yourself...good luck friend!!!
. The 1990s if your mom and dad were together dancing to that song in the '90s you must be really super young. My parents were dancing together to Elvis LOL but then again I'm an old fucker LOL

"Nobody loves no one." Everybody falls in love, whether they want to or not. It just hits you. It's going to be amazing, and it's going to hurt. I just now got that ending lyric, wow. Duh, me. I'm about to turn 30, and I've loved this song for as long as I can remember. Found it on the radio as a kid. It has such a special vibe to it. Reminds me of falling in love for the first time. First experiences you can't get back, but that you wouldn't give up or change for the world. I hope when I'm old and senile I can yell HEY COMPUTER, PLAY WICKED GAMES. I will never forget this song. Pops in my head all the time.

Of course, you think it's a romantic song, you're a woman. Listen to the lyrics. You can also find the video of him talking about this song. It's not a romantic song, it's a sad song about a man's heart being broken by a woman who lied and betrayed him. It's a true story.

Recorded in 1988 and released in June of 89. Perfect example of a perfect song being timeless, who would've thought that a haunting melodic rockabilly song would continue to inspire millions of more people to fall in love 35 years later. A song Dracula himself would serenade to a beautiful woman .
As a fellow metal head and early 90s bby, honestly you HAVE to fully FEEL music of any genre. But you HAVE to FEEL music to overstand the power of metal.
One of the most beautiful love songs ever recorded. Chris and helena's video remains one of the most beautiful and artistic videos made at that time. Chris's vocals are off the chart.
Perfectly said, Ana! An all-time favorite of mine, also! I actually got a message from Chris Isaak after a comment I posted! What a humble man to personally "thank me" for my appreciation of his incredible talent! 🥰. Julie Hager (oops under bf acct)
Gotta also give props to that one-of-a-kind guitar work by Jamie Calvin Wilsey. Also that moving bass line and the understated percussion that made the song. This is a sonic masterpiece.
Never knew the name of this song. But I remember this growing up playing on the radio and sitting at the cheese cake factory it just came on. You have to love the way he sang this one ❤❤❤
I finally saw/heard this live in person last night at his show, and it was AMAZING. I had a giant smile on my face the whole time, while also welling up with tears over the nostalgia and beauty of this song. It's perfect, and timeless, and etherial.
Same. For some reason it spoke to me. I remember once I played started playing guitar I was just coming out of the gym and there was an older gentlemen and shared some advice: “whenever you’re heart broken, write music. You won’t believe what gifts come out.” I have a feeling this song came from a similar process…. Idk.. feels like it atleast. ☺️
Since 1989 numerous people performed this song with various different styles, however nobody came close to the melodic voice of Issak. It is a life time song....!!!!!
its really painful when you fall in love but youre the only one who falls, and you do foolish and then wicked things within your own desperation to not be alone in the end, such a beatiful message for the broken ones
This song will mean much more when time has passed and you have moved on from your past love experience. Don’t allow your current feelings of love, stop your soul mate from finding you! Good luck
I will be 50 in December and remember when thus song came out. Sitting here listing to it and reminiscing......wow!! Haunting and beautiful at the same time
Moja ulubiona piosenka często do niej wracam.Magia tej piosenki to obraz totalnej ekstazy. wchodzenia w kolejne etapy romantyzmu, zmysłowości, miłosci ,smutku,mrocznosci.Słodko-gorzkie poczucie nostalgii .
This was the song on the radio when we moved away in 1990 and it makes me think of her and that feeling. I left my first love behind at the raw age of 12 and sometimes wonder and hope that she had an awesome life. 😂👍🏼
This song perfectly captures the phrase, "Love knows no logic." When you connect with that one soul your mind tries to warn you about, but your heart doesn't listen. Your heart is so captivated that it has to risk it, despite the inevitable conclusion your mind saw a mile away. Your mind finally acquiesces, because it knows that the regret of never trying can become it's own torture. So you go all in. Your souls entwine and you feel whole again where you never knew you felt empty. And you ignore the signs that this bond is not reciprocal. Eventually this person you gave your soul to begins to pull & push away and your mind remembers the red flags it saw all along, but she takes her time parting ways, seemingly unsure if you're worth keeping or not. You know it's coming, but she gives just enough hope to keep you close while searching for someone or something else that's not you. Your mind tells you it's time to go, but your heart clings to hope. That's when you learn a terrible truth..... Leaving is painful.....Waiting is painful..... But not knowing which to do is the worst kind of suffering. Eventually you part ways as your mind tries, for 14 years, to suppress the memories and convince your heart that it was never real. Sometimes your heart even seems to accept this..... until you dream of her in your sleep, and you wake up only to start over, try again, to convince your heart to do something it knows it can never do..... let go..... not entirely..... because there's a hole in your chest that you never knew existed, until she put her finger into it instead of her heart.
This is such an accurate description of situtations that sometimes we have all been involved in. At some point in our lives. Just never seen it explained in such detail. Well said my friend.
You should be a novelist; very good at stirring emotions buried in the soul. Time does not erase scars, but does help heal wounds. I pray you meet someone who loves you deeply, and you can give the best of yourself by remembering beauty in parts of your lost love many years ago. Please write a novel, there are few passionate people who can articulate feelings as you did. Ouvre ton coeur pour aimer à nouveau. 🙄🍷
This song is timeless and Chris' beautiful and distinctive voice is carried by the virtuoso and unmistakable guitar playing of James Calvin Wilsey (RIP) ❤️🍻
I'm 19, I'm from Russia, I've been listening to this song since childhood. There is no better song that can motivate you to do something. The most versatile song, because under it and cry and rejoice at something. Chris Isaak a legendary person all the time .
when I die, in the next world may there not be endless green meadows, virgin forests and crystal castles, I don’t mind even eternal darkness, just let this song, my favorite forever, always play
I've loved this song when I heard it for the first time as a teenager. Thirty years later I lost the love of my life and this song hits hard. A timeless, iconic song that will stand the test of time and love. Thank you Chris Isaak for bringing this song to life.
My dad died from COVID, this song always remind me of him, I miss him, I would do anything to listen to this song one more time with him at the river again! MISS YOU AND LOVE YOU PADRE
This song makes me miss my youth and cherish all the lost romance. There were a few times in life where it felt real, but looking back, I'm not certain it was true love.
I learnt that true love takes 2 people to make it happen. If your partner didn't feel as real as you did then it probably wasn't as true as you thought it was supposed to be.
My dad used to bring his Chris Isaak cd on every road trip we took as a family when I was growing up. My dad passed in 2009 and this song brings back so many great memories 💕truly a work of art
Wicked Game Song by Chris Isaak The world was on fire and no one could save me but you It's strange what desire will make foolish people do I never dreamed that I'd meet somebody like you And I never dreamed that I'd lose somebody like you No, I don't wanna fall in love (this world is only gonna break your heart) No, I don't wanna fall in love (this world is only gonna break your heart) With you With you (This world is only gonna break your heart) What a wicked game you play, to make me feel this way What a wicked thing to do, to let me dream of you What a wicked thing to say, you never felt this way What a wicked thing to do, to make me dream of you And I don't wanna fall in love (this world is only gonna break your heart) No, I don't wanna fall in love (this world is only gonna break your heart) With you The world was on fire and no one could save me but you Strange what desire will make foolish people do I never dreamed that I'd love somebody like you And I never dreamed that I'd lose somebody like you No, I don't wanna fall in love (this world is only gonna break your heart) No, I don't wanna fall in love (this world is only gonna break your heart) With you (this world is only gonna break your heart) With you (with you) (This world is only gonna break your heart) No, I (this world is only gonna break your heart) (This world is only gonna break your heart) Nobody loves no one

Perfect example of a perfect song being timeless, who would've thought that a haunting melodic rockabilly song would continue to inspire millions of more people to fall in love 35 years later.
A song Dracula himself would serenade to a beautiful woman .
What makes this song rockabilly? (I’m not questioning, I’m curious since I don’t know much about rockabilly genre.)
@@Kurbitsimssvit’s not even close to rockabilly more bluesy than anything else
SO not rockabilly - stupid comment
This Video is the second one and was Released in 1991
@@atticusfinch3931 Has more of a Western sound!
This song is a true masterpiece, one of the best songs ever written and played.
thought I was the only one who felt this way.
Hy nadiaa ...
Yet very simple.
Agreed
And sung!
As a true metalhead, songs like this masterpiece makes me go Somewhere else... Mind blowing. I love the Vibe, the mood, i really "feel" the song.
🖤🖤🖤🖤
Also a metalhead and for some reason I've always liked this song. Great playing and tone on that guitar too.
as a kid metalhead same
Me too actually.... I think this song likes to anyone who have a deep heart
As a fellow metal head and early 90s bby, honestly you HAVE to fully FEEL music of any genre. But you HAVE to FEEL music to overstand the power of metal.

Eternal song full of love and emotions , made for loved couples ( natural man and woman , boy and girl ) !!!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
One of the most enigmatically beautiful songs ever written, it haunts my mind.
NOT! He sounds like he's crying! This song is better!

This song is Absolutely Beautiful & so are they❤️
The melody haunts me.
It wouldn't have been Chris and Helena without Herb Ritts, who put these two beautiful specimens together.
Une des plus belles chansons romantique des années 80/90. Jamais oubliée ❤
This song is timeless - takes me back to a beautiful time…❤️
Gotta also give props to that one-of-a-kind guitar work by Jamie Calvin Wilsey. Also that moving bass line and the understated percussion that made the song. This is a sonic masterpiece.
Wilsey's sound, yeah, nothing else like it. It's so damned good.
Thanks for sharing. The song is great but the guitar makes it.... smooth, beautiful emotive tones.
Rest in peace, Jimmy Wilsey. We all miss your beautiful playing. There's nobody else plays like you, and there never will be again.

One of the biggest reasons I always listen to this song is the guitar
What a wicked thing to say. You never felt this way. Boy that really gets me. I can't make it through this song without tears. It's bizarre.
I’m seeing him tonight in St Paul and I’m hoping he sings this!!
I’m seeing him tomorrow night for my birthday. 🎉
Ethereal is definitely a good word for it💁🏻♀️
Play my ass
I m in pakistan and I wish to meet this amazing singer. His song take me to journey in my imaginations🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Haven't heard this in years.... still sent the chills down my spine. Goosebumps. And a little choked up. Timeless song
Good description
This is perfect
It makes think that some people are just unlucky when it comes to love.

Since 1989 numerous people performed this song with various different styles,
however nobody came close to the melodic voice of Issak.
It is a life time song....!!!!!
I thought I’d heard a different version of this
Check out daisy gray version
I like Corey Taylors version as well. Jack Black also just did a short version.
its really painful when you fall in love but youre the only one who falls, and you do foolish and then wicked things within your own desperation to not be alone in the end, such a beatiful message for the broken ones
This song will mean much more when time has passed and you have moved on from your past love experience. Don’t allow your current feelings of love, stop your soul mate from finding you! Good luck
Been there in that pain, and he was wicked af.
😢
Took me a while to realize the backing vocals say "This world is only gonna break your heart".
I can't understand how can a person be able to make music that matches what you feel or think when you listen to it
It evokes a haunting blend of love and pain that lingers in my mind. Nostalgia, longing, desire, regret, and the inevitably of it all.
Can you suggest some more songs like this

It was Helena Christensen in the music video, but yes, great enduring song.
@@stephenlee62 I stand corrected. Even so as a little lad she was lovely
This is so accurate. I'm in exactly the same situation and I have no clue what to do.
This was so accurate oh my goodness
This is such an accurate description of situtations that sometimes we have all been involved in. At some point in our lives. Just never seen it explained in such detail. Well said my friend.
I felt what you wrote pretty deeply. Perfect description.

I've loved this song when I heard it for the first time as a teenager. Thirty years later I lost the love of my life and this song hits hard. A timeless, iconic song that will stand the test of time and love. Thank you Chris Isaak for bringing this song to life.
I lost the love of my life this year. And I miss him so much. Love. This song

My dad died from COVID, this song always remind me of him, I miss him, I would do anything to listen to this song one more time with him at the river again! MISS YOU AND LOVE YOU PADRE
I cannot not go by if this is playing. Loved it the moment I first heard it. Still do!
Every decade or two a tune comes along and one is left to wonder, " who could possibly have dreamt up this masterpiece?"
This song makes me miss my youth and cherish all the lost romance. There were a few times in life where it felt real, but looking back, I'm not certain it was true love.
Aw man. Im 40 and i fell in love just recently again..just think, love exists..it just does.
I learnt that true love takes 2 people to make it happen. If your partner didn't feel as real as you did then it probably wasn't as true as you thought it was supposed to be.
True words I felt the same life goes on so fast
That opening TWANG of the guitar, it hits on so many levels. Add in Chris Isaak's haunting lyrics and delivery. One of my top ten songs.
One directional intense love is the most painful of all unrealised emotions. Brilliant how she never looks at him, always looking for the next one.
My dad used to bring his Chris Isaak cd on every road trip we took as a family when I was growing up. My dad passed in 2009 and this song brings back so many great memories 💕truly a work of art
Wicked Game
Song by Chris Isaak
The world was on fire and no one could save me but you
It's strange what desire will make foolish people do
I never dreamed that I'd meet somebody like you
And I never dreamed that I'd lose somebody like you
No, I don't wanna fall in love (this world is only gonna break your heart)
No, I don't wanna fall in love (this world is only gonna break your heart)
With you
With you
(This world is only gonna break your heart)
What a wicked game you play, to make me feel this way
What a wicked thing to do, to let me dream of you
What a wicked thing to say, you never felt this way
What a wicked thing to do, to make me dream of you
And I don't wanna fall in love (this world is only gonna break your heart)
No, I don't wanna fall in love (this world is only gonna break your heart)
With you
The world was on fire and no one could save me but you
Strange what desire will make foolish people do
I never dreamed that I'd love somebody like you
And I never dreamed that I'd lose somebody like you
No, I don't wanna fall in love (this world is only gonna break your heart)
No, I don't wanna fall in love (this world is only gonna break your heart)
With you (this world is only gonna break your heart)
With you (with you)
(This world is only gonna break your heart)
No, I (this world is only gonna break your heart)
(This world is only gonna break your heart)
Nobody loves no one
Thank you so much.
