I’m sorry. I never want to make negative comments as all these wonderful and talented women work so hard. But seriously. I watched the so called “lesser” teams do fantastic stuff and still they don’t get the deserved scores compared to OU. It’s really unfair. Not the OU gymnasts fault. It’s the judges. So upsetting. Very sad to watch this travesty. But thank you so much Mostepova Fan for posting. We would never get to see this in the UK without you and Gymfan. My hero’s xxx
In exactly WHICH universe does that vault (IYKYK) deserve a 9.8?????? I've been following women's NCAA gymnastics since 1995, where I had to look through the TV schedule in the local newspaper and the TV guide's so that I could plan on taping the meets on VHS. This may be the last season that I follow. I have to translate every what should be and what used to be 0.1 deduction into a 0.025. Take a step on the landing with two small breaks used to be a 9.7, great score. Now it's a 9.925.
Ragan keeps getting a little more orange each meet. There are a few gymnasts that could lay off the self tanner! Thank you so much for posting these meets!
Dakota Essenpries from Arkansas did a similar vault as Faith at SEC's and got a 9.525.. It's so frustrating to see athletes get overscored bc of the school on their leo for having the same mistakes as other less "popular" schools.
Me again, Reagan Smith on beam with a 9.975??? Obvious foot form deductions in her backhandspring and layout stepout. Then a bend at the waste balance check? 9.875 if being generous.
If PSU’s Ava P did the same vault in a Leo that had OU on the front, her score would have been a 10. The judges robbed her with that 9.925. Way too low a score for that perfect and very unique vault. Same with OSU’s Ella on floor. She does that in maroon and it’s a 10. No disrespect to OU BUT they were blatantly over scored on beam and vault. It felt like they could go up on beam and just blow their nose and it got a 9.975.
I had to stop watching Oklahoma entirely after a couple rotations. 9.975 for Raegan with a balance check?? 9.8 for a vault with a jump into Canada? Nuh uh
And then a 9.850 for Jamison Sears with a perfect flared Yurchenko Full? Easily should've been scored at least 9.9. How much money is OU paying these judges?
Gotta love that “Oklahoma bonus” where by nature of wearing an OU uniform, your first deduction is free and the second one is half off! How else are they constantly getting 198 every meet? I almost feel like judges have forced themselves into this nonsense, because if they don’t keep delivering these asinine scores for routines that don’t deserve it, it will be obvious (like it already isn’t?) that they just get over scored. How can you explain how a routine that has always been a 9.95 for them is now getting the 9.85 they should have been getting? This makes me not want to bother with ncaa gymnastics.
Can Kennedy be Kathy's replacement pls? She is a breath of fresh air compared to all the newer guard on the network. I'm very curious what Anastasia Webb's degree is in, because I know it can't be Broadcast Journalism. Or Communications. Or English.
So it wasn’t just me who thought she was usually bad at being a commentator :) No offense to her because it isn’t like she isn’t an expert in this craft and of NCAA gymnastics, but she clearly doesn’t have the skillset to be a commentator.
Knowledge of gymnastics is obviously important, but so is critical thinking at a basic level, as well as the ability to express oneself beyond vapid sports clichés. But I think what irks me at the marrow bone level is the breathy, starry-eyed delivery that sounds like we're seconds away from her trying to recruit us to her cult.
So bummed that Ohio State didn’t beat out Alabama, I felt their routines were better overall and I just like their team a lot. Really great floor routine from OSU’s Ella Hodges, wish it was a 10!

I couldn't agree more! That was not deserving of a 9.8. There were 2 large hops on her landing in addition to bent arms on the vault table.
