Hahaha, I join that for sure! The puppy sound I heard from a chinese tenor friend. That time i couldn't go higher than A flat or A. He told me the same like you, and now can reach C, D or even E. You are really saying the truth! I'm glad that someone can sum it so well! So, yeah. Confused tenors all the way... 😂❤

So happy I found this channel. It is unbelievably hard to find reliable info online (or even in lessons) about singing. It is such a nebulous subject in comparison with something like guitar or piano technique. This is a goldmine and exactly what youtube has needed.
My main thing is how to add the chest voice to the free falsetto/head voice sound! I have that free good feeling falsetto but am journeying on how to add the chest without completely dropping.

I’ll make a video about this soon. The answer lies in the vocal crack. As singers we get so scared to crack the voice but the crack is actually a result of 1.) the larynx jumping up and resetting itself in trying to free itself from muscular tension in the throat often by over compressing the larynx. And 2.) while doing so switching registers from chest to falsetto. Therefore the vocal crack is a great way to blend the resisters together while doing it in a relaxed state. The larynx is gonna be jumping up and down and it sounds a bit like “Tarzan” or “yodeling” back and forth but ignore the sound and focus on the sensation for now. This extreme laryngeal movement will build the coordination to add chest little by little in a relaxed way switching from falsetto to chest back and forth in a way that you’ll be able to connect the chest sound while maintaining the ease and lightness of the head voice.

The 'process' also sounds bigger because certain harmonics won't be dampened as it would if you were using more cord/fold mass. That's always the sacrifice with chestier high notes: they feel stronger, and they are probably louder with the fundamental, but it doesn't have that intensity and that laser like focus when the tone is more head dominant. Really happy to see people like you and Jack making this stuff so much clearer for everyone with videos like this.
I love the sounds that come out from you without the grunt. Its so beautiful. I also love the point of entry comment. ALl too often we want to immediately sound thick. Yo también soy de los que se lanzan a por el resultado en el agudo a ver si suena la flauta, por miedo, “para asegurar”😂 meto demasiada carga (pecho/garganta) y siempre, siempre resulta forzado cuando lo hago así.
Al menos soy consciente de que esa manera tiene las patas muy cortas.
Centrarse en el proceso y partir del falsete/voz de cabeza e ir añadiendo conexión con pecho/diafragma tiene todo el sentido del mundo y sigo avanzando en este sentido. Mil gracias!

I've realized this too. It's wild how sometimes you get s result with a process and then if you want to get the same result and then you imitate the result...which is not the same thing.
Again keep up the good work. Like you said consistent over sometimes magic some of the time. For sure everyone, like me, loves the interviews. Che boludo. Dont worry about doing it live, Jose querido. Just keep doing it. Even maybe do part one and part two. For RUclips and the algorithms etc. We want to see you EXPLOTAR boludol. Btw I also had the same experience with this snippet. The thing is that rather than feeling and thinking this is an annoying scent on a narrow vowel that I have to open up at the end... you can focus on the silvery thread already present and just let it bloom.

Hi Jose! I love your videos, for me as a beginning tenor there are very useful. Recently I’ve passed my college exams, and the board of examiners said “you have a small voice”. That made me think about improving my voice power without excessive forcing. Hello from Russia and good luck!
Thank you for sharing this experience. I agree with you it's more efficient to go through the process and really experience all the stages our body goes through to reach and accompany it to our goal.

U vowel in falsetto, gathered lips in the front but abundant space in the back,still very yawn like internally, feeling the palate rise and almost “dome” like feeling of space. allowing air to release generously while singing to keep the spinning of the sound. The neck shoulder jaw and tongue very relaxed

Can you make a video about the cry exercise or going from a disconnected sound to a connected sound that is in the proper position. The full voice connected sound always sounds great for me and it works but sometimes I feel like when I start to play with dynamics things get disconnected and so im left with a big connected sound, a disconnected feeling mix almost pop sound and then an actually disconnected falsetto sound. I can go between the mix and the falsetto but it’s difficult making a smooth transition to the fully connected sound. While from the full connected sound I can break into a disconnected sound really easily so its free.
Simple what im asking is, how do you get that cry transition from disconnected to a mix/a little bit of chest to a fully connected balanced sound to sound so smooth and sound not have the sound turn poppy or nonclassical?

Your channel is amazing, encouraging, and so helpful. I really enjoy the mix of interviews and more specifically technically focused videos. I don't mind if the interviews are live or not - I think you have a good process with a few specific questions and a lot of getting to know the singer. If you can interview a heldentenor like Simon O'Neill I'd be really interested to hear a comparison of the approach taken by lyric and dramatic voices. Is it just a different scale of instrument, or is there more to it?

I find your videos insightful for all male voices. Balancing the sound when singing through the passagio is something all male singers hope to achieve. When crescendoing through the passagio to a final climax is the cherry on top. Would you ever consider a live interview with a baritone who has been cast in tenor roles?

Your vídeos are great. I would like to ask you, is your tongue position learned or you found it to just sound better for your tone? Im saying this cause I noted you like to keep the tip of your tongue "floating" instead of resting down.
I’m at the stage where I can only sing my high notes in a disconnected falsetto and it sounds exactly like yours. It’s easy and I can do it all the time. How do I start adding more chest? I feel like when I try I just end up pushing and then it becomes hard. I also tend to push my falsetto to try and sound louder and have more weight but it becomes tiring. I don’t know what to do.
Who would you recommend to follow/ or that you like for female voices ( soprano, mezzo)

That relaxed B4 flat at the start of the video doesn't feel like full or so called "mixed" voice imo. It sounds like reinforced falsetto.Not an expert on vocal terminology though.
