Bro!!!!! Youre a life saver. I have a brush guard on my f150 and the dealership was wanted a ton of money and a days labor to change the horn. You saved me so much money and time. Thank you sir!!!!
Got the same issue on my 2019 Lariat. Just started sounding like the Prius horn yesterday. Can’t believe you have to take the grill off to change the horn. Thanks for the shortcut.
Thanks for the video. I pretty much followed your final option (2019 2.7), i.e. remove the top large piece of trim in the engine bay (the part that goes under the air scoop) and then removed the screws from the second piece of plastic that is under it. At that point, it slid forward just enough to remove the bolt holding the horn in place. I then removed the hood latch in order to get the horn out. Also, for those that may not know, the horn wiring clip is such that you squeeze the little tab in and pull apart.
Excellent cheat ! Dealer wanted a fortune to change a horn. Told me about having to remove bumper etc etc etc. Well done, took 20 min, wacked the horn to remove debris and working great 😊
Great work, really appreciate your effort and saves me a lot of time in trouble doing the exact same thing, yes I break things a lot and I’m always looking for a shortcut like this thanks so much man!☝️👍🌟
The only thing I did different was removed the hood latch. Made it SOOO much easier. Only 2 10mm bolts. Just make sure you take note of exactly where it is when you put it back on. Its probably a little dirty like mine was, so putting it right back where it was, was easy.
LMFAO God Damn prius Horn .. It's good video I think You started Off so strong Cut scene OK guys change of plans lol . It was a good video though it helped explain how to get to it at least So thank you and got a couple laughs out of it so Hey well done
I was able to keep from pulling everything apart on the bumper and made enough room to pull out from the top by the hood latch. I had the small plastic piece of the upper plastic cover
You can get to it pretty easy by just taking the panel, the 4 screws out the top and the hood latch just us a ten mil on the 2 screws and if you got relativly normal hand should fit in the side and inside where the hood latch would be just disconent the plug. I got pretty big hands but the sweat and grease on them made them slip in easier
Just did this by removing the hood latch to gain access, the bolt is a pain, its way to long and akward for reinstall so i cut about 1/2 off", total time was about 20 minutes.
#1: F you ford for making this more difficult than it ever should be #2: Try hitting the horn with your purse before you trying replacing it. Slapped my low tone back into action with a 3/8" wrench. Now I got a rock auto replacement on the shelf when I'm ready to cheese grater my forearm off.
For anybody reading this later, you should be able to hear the relay "clicking" when you press the horn button. The relay is located near the fuse for the horn, i.e. passenger side firewall area (near the battery). I could stand on the doorframe and press the horn and hear mine clicking (horns are dead, so no other sound).
Jesus what a massive pain in the ass. I just replaced the horn on my 2014 and it took 3 minutes. Pop the hood and the grill opens with it. Everything exposed. Not sure why ford got rid of that design. Great video tho thanks
I don't blame you not one bit for not wanting to take that bumper off I spent 8 hours pulling the bumper off of my Z06 Corvette. I think the majority of my time was spent just trying to be really careful not to scratch or break anything but full Disclosure I would rather get punched in the dick Then have to take another bumper off whether it be a truck or a Corvette It seems so simple but that's really really not And then the re assembly making sure all of the clips lineup and all of the rivets go back into place without chipping the paint and scratching the paint yeah no thank you. So I'm gonna try your way to see how that goes Although I did not buy the Ford horns I upgraded To the train horn that does not require an air tank I'm skeptical but the advertisement video looked promising You probably seen it on Facebook it just pops up all the sudden there's some car scaring people with their train horn And because I am an impulse shopper I bought 2 of them
Who knew that replacing horns would be such a pain in the ass 😂😂 didn’t think I’d have to replace them that fast let alone have to take off a damn bumper. Definitely are making things harder to get to for sure. It should work for you to!
Just did this. Gotta say that you must have hands like tinker bell because no way your shortcut gave me enough room. I ended up following the right way. It was SUPER easy to remove the grill. Highly recommend others who need to do this to just pull your grill off. Not hard. ruclips.net/video/5GL5NeJRfY0/видео.htmlsi=QMa8SZkzpgzVwzGB

Yeah what a pain in the ass to replace a horn haha 😂
Just fixed my 2018 F-150. Your video saved me time and money!
Fuck yeahhhh!!

Great video! It only took me about 15 minutes, after watching the video!
Hell yeah! Time saver
Excellent cheat ! Dealer wanted a fortune to change a horn. Told me about having to remove bumper etc etc etc. Well done, took 20 min, wacked the horn to remove debris and working great 😊
Insane just to replace a horn!
Awesome! Saved a bunch of time. Took me 10 minutes start to finish.
Perfect!!!
Best fkn video I've seen. Like most comments you're saving me tons of money!
Hell yeah!
Great work, really appreciate your effort and saves me a lot of time in trouble doing the exact same thing, yes I break things a lot and I’m always looking for a shortcut like this thanks so much man!☝️👍🌟
I’m always breaking stuff constantly! lol
Sounds like a clown car! My 2017 just started two days ago. Your the only video that shows the sound fixings. Thanks
Lol it is awful haha

Tried this method today worked perfectly!!!
Awesome!!!! Saved me from
Breaking plastics and stuff
@@Sean_Hannon I have a feeling some techs do it this way. Its a lot faster
Mine went to the rice burner sound today - now I know the down and dirty way to replace it. Gotta dig out the part number no so off to the web. Thanks
I was able to keep from pulling everything apart on the bumper and made enough room to pull out from the top by the hood latch. I had the small plastic piece of the upper plastic cover

Much easier then the standard way
I was quoted $450 to replace the horn (same problem) at the dealership today, most certainly going to try this first.
I definitely would try it! Saved tons of money!
Saved me time watching the video but Ford made changing out the horn a real pain in the ass!
They made it a huge pain in the ass
Awesome! My 2018 horn went to "bitch mode" today and I was like "WTF???" All I needed was your video, thanks!!!
Yessirrrr mine did the same shit lol
It's almost like the engineer was instructed to make the horn a PITA to get to...
...
...
... oh, wait!
They did
Just did this by removing the hood latch to gain access, the bolt is a pain, its way to long and akward for reinstall so i cut about 1/2 off", total time was about 20 minutes.
Saves a lot of time!
Mine sound the same went out blowing at someone 😂
The real McGyver
Undo the hood latch to get more clearance
That’s smart!
That's insane to do all that to replace a horn on an f150 I'd just go and install an airhorn kit.
Good air horns are $$$$
@@Sean_Hannon I've come to find that out just yesterday...👍
@@Sean_HannonDon’t know what y’all are talking about. $25 on Amazon. 😂😂😂😂 I’m sure they will last. Haha

How do I tell if the horn is the problem? Ny horn makes no sound, not a “prius sounding horn” and i checked the fuses
To be honest with you maybe the wiring or the plug itself came out? I’m not sure without seeing it in person

Yeah such a pain in the ass lol
Does this work on a f250 as well 2017?
I am unsure but I imagine so
My 2019 F-150 Sport sounds like this. F’ing embarrassing.
I couldn’t do it I had to go back lol
Wow! I need the same thing and it will cost me CAD$159.62 with shipping from a dealer. (Talk about getting screwed)
Probably still cheaper than paying to have it done by them
@@Sean_Hannon That's very true, hourly rate is/was $90.00 the last time I got something done from the dealer anyway.
Is there space in there to add an air horn?
A small one maybe, depends how you mount it and fabricate it
What bumper do you have
Svc off-road but after 2 years of having it it’s rusting out like a Mf

what is the part number
FL3Z-13832-A per the box
@@Sean_Hannon Thanks bro, ordered and replaced.
How much did the horn cost you? Where did you buy it ?
I went straight to my local ford dealer they had it in stock for $68
My Super Duty sounds the same, clown car!
