    Wow, those Westinghouse Flashers looks nostalgic using old fashioned lightbulbs and not LEDs. Nealy all level crossings in Australia are almost ALL LED's nowdays. good spot.

    You got there in time to see the m-bell...it's been 'upgraded' now. I can't say what sort of e-bell, but there's no m-bell. There's also boom gates there, too.

    I've never seen those tarpulined cars before! I also like that both locos were missing their side lettering!

    • @McKHAust
      @McKHAust  5 лет назад

      The tarpaulin cars are used to transport steel products. I never noticed the missing lettering, so well spotted! I guess they have a few variations of the Pacific National livery.

    Is the Godfrey Street level crossing at Boort disused and does it still have it's teardrop bell?

    • @McKHAust
      @McKHAust  5 лет назад +1

      I've never been to Boort so I don't know if the teardrop is still there, I'm guessing no. I do know that the crossing is still used, as QUBE have began running a new intermodal train out of Ultima.

    • @jacktherailwayenthusiast3343
      @jacktherailwayenthusiast3343 5 лет назад

      Unfortunately the teardrop bell has been replaced with a Safetran Type 3 according to this video of Greensleeves94, the semaphore signal survives and works as well! The crossing appears at 2:34: ruclips.net/video/UO91qTzGAnU/видео.html

    Also I would like to mention, against all odds, the Safetran Type 1 at Mount Barker Junction still works.

    Great video. This crossing is really nice. Great that it still has the mechanical bell. Cool,freight trains . How did you know when to film the trains ?

    • @McKHAust
      @McKHAust  5 лет назад

      Thanks! I didn't really know when a train would show up, just waited for a couple of hours. It was a Monday morning so I thought maybe there would be a train for the start of the working week.

      How often does a train a train go to that location in Wingfield.

      @AH137productions 5 лет назад

      Not sure

    • @McKHAust
      @McKHAust  5 лет назад

      @@oldtimeradiooldtimeradio9274 I doubt there would be any fixed timetable, just whenever the customer requires a train. I'm thinking it could be any weekday morning as they would need most of the day to unload the wagons. Looking at the siding layout there doesn't seem to be a great deal of room so I'm guessing the unloaded wagons would have to be collected again before more loading could be brought in, so maybe the empties are collected by another train in the evening?

    Great video! This crossing is a favourite of mine, Mechanical Bell, check, Incandescent lights, check, I just wish it didn’t have red crossbucks though. It’s better than most of the other Adelaide crossings though, with Safetran Type 3s and United Group Lights. Installations like this were the norm once in SA.

    • @McKHAust
      @McKHAust  5 лет назад

      Thanks! I'm guessing the m-bell and incandescent lights have survived because it's a privately owned crossing, but it's sure nice to see a reminder of what used to be common.

  • @trainman758
    @trainman758 5 лет назад +1

    Nice! It’s great the rather healthy WCH m-bell and incandescent lights have survived so far!

      Trains come here usually between 6:30 and 9:00 AM, but they can do it anytime they like. They also come at night but the time is more varied there.
