I followed Andrew instructions, studied for three days straight. Took practice three times and passed Security+ in just three days! His material helped tremendously! Thanks Andrew!
Hey, I bought your course on Udemy and took the exam 1 week later. I passed in just 1 week of intense studying, thanks to your material. I never post any comments on youtube but this time, i just want to say thank you. Your course is by far the most helpful compared to any other courses out there in Udemy. Others usually just modify their 501 material and tweak it a bit, and as a result, it didnt cover all of the exam objective. Yours is different.. it covers ALL of the exam objective and you also add several indistry best practices and techniques
I passed Sec + 601! With No prior IT experience. Mr Andrew I just want to say thank you! I read, watched videos of different instructors but your course on Udemy was what helped me the most. You broke it all down that I felt so comfortable and confident to ahead and take my exam. Thank you!😊
Just enrolled into your udemy class. Always been around IT and now I hope to pursue a career in Cyber Security. Your personality and practical explanations made it a very easy choice opposed to the other courses provided. Thank you for your passion.
Great advice for the hands on, I passed N+ and A +, got them both done in the past 3-4months and been studying off and on for Sec+ and a bit of a break but he is right, you really need to deep dive into the subjects more than just reading it. Sec+ is not N+ and A+ it is a whole different beast from the studying I've been doing vs the big practice tests I've been taken.
Thank you so much. I took mine November 2020 and didn't even know I was taking the 601. I failed but managed to get 720 points. I'm retaking it in March. And this video helps. The simulation was what killed me.
@Bender Rodriguez thank you boss. 601 has many new terms added and simulation are a little more complex but you can pass it still by not overthinking it. When are you planning to take yours ?
I just recently took the 601 exam. Unfortunately I didn’t pass, but I got really close. 750 is passing I got 723. Considering I had 0 years of experience in IT and I’ve spent probably 2 or 3 months of studying here and there and taking a Security+ course a week before taking my exam I’d say that’s not too bad. After taking the exam I can kind of get a feel of the types of questions I’ll be asked and I definitely feel like this certification is obtainable with 0 years of IT experience.
couldnt agree more about doing labs i recently passed my linux+ as my first IT cert and now looking in to sec+ its awesome i found this channel. ive just got ur course at udemy and so far being able to work with virtual machines is freaking awesome thanks mr andrew.
He stated that he fell asleep while testing during the exam at 2:30AM? That is so funny as I am sure I wouldbe doing the same thing as he did, but I would probably fall asleep in the chair then probably fall off the chair and that is what would wake me up! Thank you for your honesty and hilarious moment!
Hey Andrew, I passed the exam. I was only halfway your Udemy class because I needed to catch up with my voucher expiration. I tried all the practice questions there before I took the exam. Great class! I will finish it in my free time. The content was well made and useful not just for the exam but for any IT career. Thanks!
I had a nightmare experience trying to take the exam at home. I will never do it again and went to a test center after, this was for my Net+ and I passed it! In short, I tried to launch the exam start and it told me it couldn't launch at this time, it was acting as if I was too early or too late to take it but that wasn't the case. So after 20-30 minutes trying to figure it out I contacted customer support trying to figure it out (At this point my exam start time has passed), I couldn't understand a single word this lady was saying, heavy accent and horrible mic, and after 20 minutes she hangs up on me out of frustration. Then I call back and talk with someone else for 45 minutes before they finally refunded me my voucher so I could re-schedule an exam. Total nightmare thinking I wasn't going to get refunded and I'll always just drive to a testing center from now on.
@@AndrewRamdayal Thanks. I am still out of work due to Covid and my state has some certification funding so I was able to take some live training using the CertMaster material for Security+ 601. Have you found that students say the CertMaster material is spot on or really hard? I found the practice test on that system very difficult and discouraging. I feel like there were a lot of holes in the material they covered that they then tried to test on. Thanks!
Great info Andrew! I'm currently in a security awareness role in my org and thinking this cert will help broaden my knowledge on security. How long do you think a reasonable amount to study/prepare before taking the exam for a complete newbie?
Thanks for the comment. Most student spend anywhere from a few weeks to a few months to pass a certification exam. This will depend on your background and how fast you can learn.
2:45 AM?? what're you thinking! Just got your Sec+ course. I like the way you describe your exam experience, its echoes my experience with other CompTIA exams. Wording can be very particular.
I need to take this only because it is a requirement. Funny thing is , the other coworkers who have it don’t even use 85% of the material they teach. My feelings, CompTIA is BS’ing the government and the industry.

Hello. Need to do sec+ bootcamp and been studying 501. Now Idk if I should enroll for the 601. I have no IT experience but just finished my associates for network technology. Any input will help!
Thank you I actually registered for your class on Udemy a little after I asked you that question. I was surprised not to have found you on digitalu.udemy though.
Encrypted traffic can't be analyzed. That is the whole purpose of it being encrypted. If you use a packet analyzer like Wireshark the only thing it will show you is all kinds of funky characters. Now if packets weren't encrypted and you had an IDS or IPS then they would compare the signature of the packet to a know database to try and spot them. Most likely you will detect unusual traffic on your network that doesn't match up with your normal baseline which will prompt you to take a closer look at what is going on. This is why you use SNMP software to monitor and report.
Asked to disable Windows Firewall in order to take an exam about proper security measures. Oh, the irony.
