    it made super much sense and was pretty much the first time, I start to have an idea of how I would change the shim stacks or piston to achieve a certain behaviour of the shock. Nice, thanl you, later!

    Easily the best/most informative video for the Topaz, even better than having Ronnie D on speed dial lol...
    Keep up the good work !!!!

    Awesome video. Would love to see a video like this on a DVO diamond. I’m 135lb on a ripmo AF and have a diamond and topaz. Would love see how I could modify the stack in my diamond to better match my weight. I ride aggressively, I’m running the minimum air pressure 90 psi suggested, and hsc and lsc wide open and still not getting full travel on some bigger hits. It would be great if I could run some ott as well. Right now, with that low air pressure, I can run ott without the fork getting sucked down a bit.

    Hey Jesse, I have the damper rebuild kit and it comes with that white bushing that's on the outside of the piston. As you know, It's hard plastic. How do you remove the old one and replace it? Does it stretch at all? Thanks again.

      Yeah really carefully get something thin underneath it and stretch it over

    Hey Jesse,
    Some technical questions, if you don't want to go down the rabbit hole you don't have to. 😁You showed the piston and the shim stack in the video, it's clear how they work (at least I think), but can you tell me how is low speed and high speed compression handled seperately? When you flip the compression switch, what does it exactly do? I also noticed in the service manual that there is a compression loader in the reservoir which also looks like a piston with shims on it, what does this control?
    I want to get this shock so I could play around with tuning, but I really want to fully understand how it works and what I could do with it.

    Wow. Great video. What oil do you recommend? Do you use 2.5wt or 5wt or does it depend on the shim stack? I have a Suntour TriAir 3CR which I believe is very similar internally to the Topaz but with an IFP instead of a bladder. Glad to know it can be tuned if needed (but not by me).

      It’s very rare I run anything other than 2.5wt

    Is it possible to get rid of the rebound stack preload in the topaz?

  • @davegee124
    @davegee124 3 года назад

    is the reason you dont use a thicker oil because it goes off quicker due to more heat build up?

    • @dvosuspensionnz
      @dvosuspensionnz  3 года назад

      Depends a lot on the rider as well as low or high leverage rates and how much shaft speed is generated

    Are the pistons and shims available to purchase?
