    "The Jedi use the Force constantly. To deflect blaster bolts. To dodge hits. To predict their opponents moves. To sense danger. To read thoughts. etc...
    During a typical battle between a Jedi & Sith in the films, overt use of the Force is at a minimum when they bust out the lightsabers. It's because they have to focus all their attention on not getting diced into pieces.
    Sith typically just find a good moment to press on the attack during a break in the battle or when an opening reveals itself. The Jedi wouldn't outwardly attack a living being with the Force like the Sith do but they are perfectly fine doing so with droids, as they are not life-forms but constructs."

      The VA for Ahsoka, Ashley Eckstein, was also very snippy at her audition for the part, which is actually what got her the part, that’s part of why Ahsoka is so snippy, and Anakin calls her snips. Ashley has done so much for especially female star wars fans with her star wars clothing line, among many others things. She’s the unofficial cheerleader of star wars, and Ahsoka’s number 1 fan. Just gotta point this out: using the Force isn't limited to telekinetically throwing things around or pushing things back. Every movement that a Force Sensitive makes in battle is being guided and physically amplified by the Force. Every time someone blocks or redirects a blaster bolt, or leaps and dodges with grace and agility that make ballerinas blush with envy, that's the Force.

    So in case you missed it Alex, those statues in Grievous’ lair ARE Grievous! He used to be an actual alien creature before he was turned into a cyborg. He was a highly skilled warrior who kept upgrading himself until he became practically became a droid himself. That’s why he coughs a lot, he’s still a living biological being under all those droid parts.
    Edit: My bad guys, I misremembered. Grievous was in a ship crash that almost killed him. That’s why he has the cyborg parts.
    And yes I’m also aware of the 2D Clone Wars scene with Mace Windu, but considering that show is no longer canon I wasn’t sure if that particular moment was still considered canon or not. Would’ve been awesome if it still was.

      Unless they retconned that recently, Grievous didn't upgrade himself. His shuttle was blown up (by Sidious/Dooku, blamed on the Jedi) and he was turned into a cyborg. The coughing thing was retconned though. When he was introduced his cough came from Mace Windu force crushing his chest (and the organs inside). That was changed later though (sadly).

      @@tomwiling2978The Windu part totally got retconned. The Force Crush happened during the attack on Coruscant when they took the Chancellor hostage, just before the third movie started. He didn't have the cough before that (his intro made a huge deal about how he was totally silent, even Shaak Ti, a Jedi Master Togruta, couldn't hear him. It was a great scene).
      Obviously the 3d Clone Wars takes place before this and he has the cough, so... I just don't know what the new explanation is (if there even is one).

    • @Roman_Eagle
      @Roman_Eagle 2 месяца назад +11

      Also she is not that OP anyway. Id rate her power level by the end of the clone wars to be hight-tier knight - low-tier master, around Rahm Kota or Shak Ti, based on her surviving order 66 like Kota and Shak (depending on the version of her death), initially losing to Maul then just about beating him in round 2, and losing to Grievous but beating both Venterss and Baris. Really her power level is about right for her age, talent, training, and experience. I think those who think she is OP kind of overate her power a bit.
      I think by Rebels though you could say she is very powerful and maybe creeping into OP, around high-tier master, able to go toe-toe with Vader for a bit, but I think that's where her characters power should cap out.

    Even the "worst" season (visually) had great episodes, especially with the introduction of the lovable Rogue Hondo Ohnaka himself. The first season was the solid foundation for the rest of the series to build upon and later spin-offs to expand the lore. For the record, I do appreciate Jar-Jar for being a whimsical light in the darkness, and he is an idiot savant.

  • @abthedragon4921
    @abthedragon4921 2 месяца назад +21

    OK so just going to expand on a few things I said in the live chat:
    1. Gungans are actually a very capable species. They have a pretty strong history in terms of art and culture but they're also very capable warriors (you'll see this proven especially in season 4). Heck, we saw back in the Blue Shadow Virus episode that Peppi Bow (who remember, was just a random herder) beat the crap out of Jar Jar, Padme and Dr. Nuvo Vindi. Unfortunately, Gungans often get labeled as screw ups by both certain fans and casuals because of Jar Jar (a single member of their species)! But anyway, enough ranting about that.
    2. I agree one thing Clone Wars does really well is allowing us to get to know the clones who are some of the best characters in the show! We've already got good Clone Episodes already like Clone Cadets, The Hidden Enemy and Rookies. In later seasons there are entire arcs dedicated to the Clones which are just peak Clone Wars! But we'll get to those when we get to them.
    3. As for Hondo's relationship with the Jedi/Republic, all I'll say is don't get used to him being on any one side...

    There are two reasons why you didn't see the Jedi use the Force often:
    1) It requires concentration, so anytime they move around it's harder to concentrate.
    2) The Jedi and Sith access the Force in fundamentally different ways. The Jedi surrender to the Force and allow themselves to be conduits, which means that unless you're Yoda and you are really practiced at this, it's hard AF. The Sith take control of the Force and bend it to their will, which is why they can more easily cast Force abilities on the fly. This is why Yoda says that the Dark Side is the quick and easy path, because you get access to the abilities upfront instead of having to work for it.

      @Easy_Skanking 2 месяца назад +1

      @@N0-1_H3r3 From the books, all of those are products of surrendering to the Force. Many times the Jedi is not consciously aware of their action afterwards when they are in deep communion with it. Rebels showed something like this during a Force vision.

    After ep 2 Skywalker was made a general but not a Master so he and others each have a battlecruiser with their own troops his is Rex and Obi-Wan is Cody.
    Hondo is a great recurring character.
    Easter egg in last EP you watched from Raiders of the Lost Ark, the senator that died and Jar Jar buried him and put his staff in the pile of rocks if you look again it's the Staff of Ra Indy used in the map room to find the Ark.
    And over time, watch how Anakin's Padawan Ahoska and Dooku's apprentice Asaji have separate but interestingly parallel arcs.

    • @robropars70
      @robropars70 2 месяца назад

      Also you'll see already this show gives you not just WAY more in-depth and personal view of the clones but the Jedi Masters only shown briefly in EP 2 and 3 so you'll feel Order 66 much different. Like the episode with Kit Fisto (green dreadlocks guy) is with Mace Windu taking on Palestine/Darth Sidious/Emperor at the end of 3 and it's killed in that sequence.
      I also felt the ep with Jar Jar pretending to be a Jedi (that was Anakin's robe left behind on Padme's ship by the way as in he sloppily forgot to bring it home after they had hooked up at some point), was like South Park killing Kenny because Jar Jar keeps appearing to die every 5 seconds and was likely poking fun at fans who wished he was dead but they redeem him over show. In one of the novels set after ep 6 ROTJ there's a quick reference to what happened to him eventually after ep 3 and while he's still alive years later it's a sad ending to his story

Just because they're not pushing or pulling something with the force in a very obvious way, doesn't mean they're not using it. It's just more subtle most of the time. But they couldn't do most of the things they do in battle without the force, even if sometimes it's not immediately apparent that the force was used.

    two things you gotta keep in mind about the Force. Jedi belive in exercising restraint with the Force, use it when necessary and no more, because over-use of that power makes them more susceptible to the dark side, and less open to the will of the Force. Sith will use the Force much more liberally, because they revel in the power but jedi will usually practice restraint and use it at more precise moments. and two, the Force does require concentration, which means constant use in battle could exhaust a jedi more quickly, especially the more average one.

And that's not a joke or a meta thing, Sidious and Dooku literally sabotaged Grievous (intentionally messed up his mind and body) to weaken him so the Clone Wars would last longer.
