I never understood why Albert Barese wasn't a bigger character in the show. I've known many guys like him here on Lawnguylind. Friendly demeanor, straight to the point and never afraid of doing the dirty work.

Part of Sil's job is handling complaints. He's like a HR director for a corporation .

I always found it fascinating how the "mob milieu" plots like this are almost happening in the background.... maybe I'm just slow, but it took me several rewatches to actually fully pickup with these smaller plot threads involving Tony's mob dealings. The multi-layered storytelling in this show is in a league of its own.

Some people say Albert was dumb. I never got that from him. He seemed like a legit serious gangster. He was a big earner too as acting Capo.
He just had an odd quirk of repeating people or maybe thought it was funny. He was obviously modeled after the "Jimmy Two Times" character in Goodfellas.

I know historically families would sometimes ask for the go ahead from the boss of the family of the guy they wanted gone, but I don't think they had to ask other families to take out one of their own guys. I could be wrong though.

The reason why Tony kept it under wraps is because if people find out he killed in own captain over something as petty as a horse he could have a mutiny on his hand at any minute.
