9:49 Actually in those 2D clips you showed he always had pillars of some sort to alter the battlefield, so maybe THAT could be his 3D battle gimmick, pillars that raise and lower, forcing you to platform around while he's jumping around shooting magic blasts down at you
I’m surprised at how the Koopalings are becoming less prevalent as time goes by.

People say that they are overused…the same people pray that BJr comes back in the next Mario game.
They are only in the nsmb games and other spin-offs so overused is way too harsh

If I'm correct, in one of the Mario & Luigi games, Larry has a tennis racket. They could lean into that and have a Tennis-like fight. Not too unlike King Kaliente from the galaxy.

My headcanon is that Larry is always the first boss because he wants to get it over with. He’s the lazy guy. In color splash, he has his minions do most of the fighting for him, and once they’re gone, he’ll dropkick you senseless because he has to “do all the work” now.
He doesn’t feel like putting in the effort, so he attacks you with the most basic attacks possible.
He was the final koopaling in Mario world, and I guess he didn’t feel like having the responsibility of being Bowser’s last line of defense, so he just puts in the minimum amount of effort now so he doesn’t have to have all that responsibility ride on him.

That would be extreamly cool. They have mostly appeared in the 2D Mario games expecially the New Series.

Nobody talking about how larry has a tennis racket which he then use his fireballs as tennis balls to attack the mario bros. And the fact that he can jump higher than the other koopalings.

The koopalings are fought in age order in SMB3.
If the Koopalings are gonna make a return, I hope they’re set up in a similar way as the Broodals with them being Midpoint Bosses in each world before you face the Final Boss of that world, which is a new and original character.
Nintendo was like:
-It seems like our fans are tired of seeing the Koopalings return as bosses in our Mario games.
-Well they’re all we have, because we have no ideas for new bosses, and don’t plan to make any.
-It’s either them or Bowser Jr., so I guess we’ll have to make him the reoccurring boss in our Mario games.

-They really just downgraded the boss variety. We want more bosses, not less!
-We treated the Koopalings with too much hate. At least put them in the new 3D Mario game, Nintendo!
I wish they were in 3D Mario, because that's been my dream video game since I was a kid. I'm in my early 20s now.
You're mistaken on Larry, but not by much. I don't recall which, but I do recall there was a game where he jumped in and out of grass. Sure, that's not much at all, but it points to the possibility of him being more on stealth.... which is fitting for the weakest combat Koopaling.
They are, and will ALWAYS be the Koopa Kids, no matter what. I would love a storyline that they are kids with a Queen Koopa and that Bowser Jr is nothing but a created clone copy of Bowser himself lol.

Superstar Saga he has a tennis Racket and Wacks back attacks at you. Maybe for Larry, you get a bit of a Ganondorf style batle. Where he sends projectiles at you and you have to send them back his way.
Iggy would be like Madame Broode as they both seem to like chain chomps.
I think they coulf make morton a drummer and when he strikes it itmakes a shockwsve and you have to groundpound the floor to reflect it 5 times to damage him once

The only time I ever hated a koopaling is when I was stuck on their boss tower levels. In general, I’ve never hated them at all.

Maybe They Can Make Larry's Like The First Castle In 3D World. Larry's On A Train And He Uses His Wand To Summon Enemies That You Use To Fight Him. And When You Do That Twice You Can Jump On The Train For A Mini Level Like A Shorter Version Of 3D World's Train Level And The After The Level You Can Go To A Boss Room And Do His Final Phases.
It'd be cool but I believe they should be mini bosses of some sort.
