Yeah, I think it’s safe to say Ludwig is the strongest and smartest among the Koopalings. He even managed to trick the Best Fitness Friends, the antagonists in Bowser Jr’s Journey.
So basically Larry is the youngest and the rookie, Morton’s the muscle, Wendy’s the token fashionista, Iggy’s the unhinged maniac, Lemmy is the playful short king, Roy is the cool but crude dude, and Ludwig is the brains and the leader.
To me and most Mario fans, we reject Miyamoto's retcon. The Koopalings will always be Bowser's kids. love the idea of him being a dad to a bunch of spoiled brats.

Ludwig is my favorite for his maniacal laugh in the cartoons. You mentioned that Roy was the final Koopaling boss only in Color Splash. Although you can play the areas in any order, he was also the last Koopaling boss in Yoshi's Safari (SNES) (1. Lemmy 2. Ludwig 3. Wendy 4. Larry 5. Morton 6. Iggy 7. Roy).
iggy is also my favorite one, but i always kinda disliked that they changed his design because when i was younger i used to create some headcanons about the koopalings due to them not having much character traits outside of the tv show, and the one i had for iggy and lemmy was that they were twins and thats why they looked so similar, and like every pair of twins in fiction, they had opposite personalities, with lemmy being a playful idiot and Iggy a insane genius
I still think they could be twins if you had wanted just that one grew taller and changed their hair thats all, but what really bothers me is the idea Lemmy could be the 2nd oldest.
Well, I am making my own world with them in it, and I loved the idea of those two being twins too. So I just went "Well, F that. Magic exists, Iggy can grow taller than Lemmy." And for the different coloured hair? Hairpaint can exist in their world. I can definitly see Lemmy liking that. So, if you work with your own versions of them, use your favourite headcanons, you can always come up with reasons for it being a certain way later. Just have fun!
I never knew there was retcon. I always thought of them as Bowsers children and Bowser Jr as the youngest child and his chosen heir. I suppose they could be the children of Bowsers rivals, who he killed to become undisputed King.
Ludwig von Koopa and Roy Koopa are two of my favorite Koopaling bosses because they actually give us Mario fans a challenge and for us to use everything we learned in each of the Mario games.
Iggy for sure is my favorite koopaling, it makes sense seeing how he's green and that's fav colour, I love that his world is always something to do with nature, and I love his sense of humor, you can definitely tell he's the funniest koopa, but is also quite smart in using chain chomp in his battles.
Would the game be about him having to save his siblings or something? (Just spitballing ideas for this). Because he always felt to me like the guy who would fight the world to keep his siblings safe.

I decided to do some math According to the Mario Wiki, there are 10 games in which the Koopalings are fought. I chose to give them a point system, where being the boss of world 1 gave you 1 point, being the boss of world 2 gives you two, and so on and so forth. I averaged their difficulties by dividing the point total by 10 In order, these were the scores Larry has 2.9 (Thus making him the weakest on average) Morton has 3.1 Wendy has 3.7 Lemmy has 3.8 Iggy has 3.9 Roy has 4.6 Ludwig has 5.6 (Thus making him the strongest on average) Interesting notes Wendy and Ludwig are the only two Koopalings who have not been a world 1 boss. The earliest Ludwig has been fought is world 2, and the earliest Wendy has been fought is world 3. No koopalings have been fought at least once in all 7 places in the order (The closest is Morton, who is missing a 7th spot No world/fighting spot has had all 7 koopalings in them either (The fourth spot is missing roy) Ludwig has 6 appearances as the 7th koopaling fought. (Roy has 2, Larry and Iggy have 1 each) Wendy has 5 appearances as the 4th koopaling fought (Every other koopaling except roy has 1 appearence in world 4 each) Lemmy has 4 appearances as the 6th koopaling fought (2 roys, 2 wendys, an Iggy and a Morton are the other appearences.) Larry is actually the leader of the koopalings, Ludwig has the best magic ability and Roy is the physically strongest. Morton is the heaviest, Iggy is the skinniest, Wendy is the most hostile and Lemmy is the smallest. Larry is also bowsers favourite koopaling, and is probably the next in line for the koopa throne
For Iggy, it is shown that he is somewhat more intelligent than the other Koopalings. For instance, the inside of his ship is more mechanical than the other ships, where they are mostly wooden.

Iggy's my favorite. In the ride at Super Nintendo World, if you observe closely you'll see Bowser's desk, and on it there's a note that says 'lunch with Iggy and Roy at 2 pm' or something along those lines. There's also books by his throne that are titled 'raising destructive children'. Adopted or not, he clearly loves them. They'll always be his kids in my eyes tho tbh.
Lemmy is my favorite (partly because acting your age is over rated) and he's adorable. Also in the Mario 3 TV series where each of the Koopalings do bad things to a different continent... Roy grafitti's the great wall of China. Ludwig turns all the animals in Africa into stuffed animals. But Lemmy? He takes over the media in North America to get a ton of money. Now that's next level diabolical. I like to imagine that he's hardly taking any of it seriously, apparently in the Manga he even befriends Mario.
I’ve gone under this headcanon after it was “semi-confirmed” that the inverted color sprite of King Koopa from The Lost Levels was a different Koopa King all together, that said Koopa King is “Morton Koopa Sr.” and the Father of the Koopaling (keeping the “lore” of them being Bowser’s Niece and Nephews intact)
Lemmy is older than Larry but I think he's the second youngest (third youngest if you count Jr). the birth order of the Koopalings has never been confirmed except for Larry and Ludwig.

Ludwig is definitly the strongest when looking at every skill combined (cause physically strongest is Roy/Morton without a doubt). But Ludwig just has the power/skills, the brain and the spells. He's well deserved the leader. And also have to agree on another point in the video. Iggy is best. Iggy's my personal favourite too. Just so delightfully insane and enjoyable.
To people saying the Koopalings not being Bowser's children is a retcon, it really wasn't. It came from the American version of the SMB3 manual, it was _never_ in the japanese version.

Those koopalings kinda remind me of the nerdlucks from space jam. You’re both short with silly ugly faces while being instructed with the main overweighted antagonist.
In terms of visual design, my favorite Koopalings are Roy, Ludwig, and Iggy for being the most visually unique. My least favorite in terms of visual design are Wendy and Morton for being pretty ugly IMHO, and Larry for being the most generic, the blue star on his head is a nice touch though. (I'm talking about the newer games of course.)

I’ve gone under this headcanon after it was “semi-confirmed” that the inverted color sprite of King Koopa from The Lost Levels was a different Koopa King all together, that said Koopa King is “Morton Koopa Sr.” and the Father of the Koopaling (keeping the “lore” of them being Bowser’s Niece and Nephews intact)

Lemmy is older than Larry but I think he's the second youngest (third youngest if you count Jr). the birth order of the Koopalings has never been confirmed except for Larry and Ludwig.

Great video! Only thing I’d change is Larry being the leader of the koopalings despite being the youngest. Nintendo even stated this not too long ago
Larry being the "Leader" was a mistranslation in the Super Mario Encyclopedia, due to the kanji for "Leader" and "Youngest" apparently being very similar. The concept of larry being the youngest, in addition to a lot of info from this "Official" encyclopedia that Nintendo clearly didn't care about, was ripped from fan-run Wikis

To people saying the Koopalings not being Bowser's children is a retcon, it really wasn't. It came from the American version of the SMB3 manual, it was _never_ in the japanese version.

In terms of visual design, my favorite Koopalings are Roy, Ludwig, and Iggy for being the most visually unique. My least favorite in terms of visual design are Wendy and Morton for being pretty ugly IMHO, and Larry for being the most generic, the blue star on his head is a nice touch though.
(I'm talking about the newer games of course.)
