This song is responsible for more children being born than Nick Cannon.
Holy hell, lol 😂, can't agree with you more
Al Green is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!! Can't beat
The 70's !! ❤️
Ah, yes. The Reverend Al - voice smooth as butter. A classic r&b from a legendary voice.🔥👍
I remember as a kid listening to this on AM radio! Good times!
😎✌️❤️
Smooth and soulful. Al Green is phenomenal.
Great reaction guys! Al Green is such a vibe with his smooth and soulful style. Just love this song! In life you're going to have those up and down moments. My wife and I have been married 52 years and we've had good times and bad. But we've stayed together through it all. Asia and BJ you have a beautiful relationship and complement each other so well. Ya'll remind me of my wife and I when we were young. I wish you the very best.❤
Loving the soulful and smooth music of AL Green. He was one of the best. Thanks for your great reactions. Enjoy you two. 😃 🇨🇦
This song is easily in my top 10 of all time. Such a classic and BJ is right you never get tired of hearing this one.
Same here! It's so under-rated.
@@gigantor62 Top 5 for me
BJ is SO right! Don’t mess with Al Green! 🤣. Playlist since it came out…this is mine & my husband’s song and my ringtone. Never gets old!! Thanks for this! ❤️
Classic 70s soul. Ain’t nothing like it
You can say that again lol so true
Don’t know if you’ve done any Barry White? You should do some Barry! “ Can’t Get Enough Of Your Love “ or “Never Gonna Give You Up”. Both iconic Barry White😊😉
The Best Live Performance is Al Green 1972
Bee Gees cover
How Can You Mend broken Heart..
He's better live, wait till you hear him hits notes. Asia after this you will understand BJs saying one of best singers...And BJ this is for you. And they dint cut him off
Whether Times are Good or Bad... Happy or Sad.... LOVE IT ❤❤❤❤❤
LOVEEEEEE AL Green ❤❤❤❤❤
My advice to young guys, have in your house always ready (Al Green, Smoky and Barry white) ready to play and everything else is automatic !!!!
One of the smoothest voices ever. My momma loved him. She had soul and so did he.
My daughter is 39 since I can remember that she has been married with kids I never went in her house Al CD wasn't blasting while she was fixing dinner and dancing with her 3 girls. Kitchen was full of flavor and ❤️ love.
My fav Al Green. Even though there are more technically pure vocalists, Al just has that vibe that makes him one of the best. If you haven't reacted to Tired Of Being Alone yet. That's worth a listen. Great reaction!
Guys....do Tina Turner's version!!!
The incomparable Al Green. A voice so smooth, like a cool smooth summer breeze. This song is Great
Al Green is freekin phenomenal!! No dis to Marvin but Al has got you...
check out his R&R HOF performance of A CHANGE IS GONNA COME.
Now you have gone, and done it picked one best songs around, Tina Turner did a good job covering it. Enjoy your reaction👍🏾
Love al green music but with timeless classics like this one how can you not love his music. Other great songs of his are simply beautiful, (his version of the bee gees song)how can you mend a broken heart, what a wonderful thing love is, i'm still in love with you, and belle.
This song still sounds good
You guys have to check out Simply Beautiful by Al Green
al green is just a big puddle of warm magic. :)
Please react to Al Green - Tired of Being Alone and Love & Happiness
Mam they just don't make music like this anymore it's hard to beat the 70s
I remember hen Obama sung the first line to Michelle on TV news conference man I fell in love with him!
Just let me say this... Let's Stay Together💯❤️❤️ Love our FAM Asia and BJ❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥
Great album. His sound is so signature, you know he's coming in the first bar🥰
This song reached #1 on the Billboard Top 100 in '71, remained on the charts for 16 weeks, and was widely played on AM radio throughout the country. Al Green was truly one of the earliest black artists to appeal to young white Americans.
B J Watch out telling Asia she owe's you 10 seconds hahaha
I’m just a dumb white boy but Al is the best!!! And BJ is great on his reaction …. He grooves with it
Man, that trumpet!
This is such a beautiful song from the fantastic voice of Al Green. Goosebumps!! ❤️❤️❤️🎶🎶🎶
Yes, The incomparable Reverent Al Green. I have his Greatest hits on Cassette. Al did a great cover of The Bee Gees tune "How can you mend a broken Heart," it was included in the Soundtrack for the Movie "Book of Eli" starring Denzel Washington. I like "Love and happiness; Tired of being alone, I'm still in love with you & Lets stay together," The last 2 songs were released in 1972. I heard "Never Nothing" Asia I'm impressed, You make BJ proud. I hear Guitar Arpeggios in the middle of the Mix, that'd be an awesome addition to the Mix, Nice Chords and the Vocals are impressive and Soulful. I like Alicia Keys "Songs in the Key of A Minor." I have a few R&B, Jazzy & Funk originals that lack Lyrics, been procrastinating finishing but hearing "Never Nothing" was inspiration much needed. You both are Cool, Stay Warm and Take Care.
Yeah he's got that vocal swagger!
The Reverend...always gives me goosebumps. Love this song.
👍❤🤙
You guys crack me up, and, yeah, this is a shortened version because there is some very fine singing that goes on afterwards. Great music will go on from one generation to another, because I'm here to tell you that I heard this song in 1971, when it first came out, and I was 23 at the time and it's still such a matchless piece of music by Green after all these years. My legs may not be stable, but I'm still able to groove around hearing this. Big thanks, Asia and JB. Robert, 74, UK.
Love love me some Al Green! Gotta love that sultry voice! ❤
Mother used to have Al Green parties... Nothing but his music! Thanks for the memories Momma! RIP❤
Man that brings me back ! Best if the best
You guy's are killing it today. Two great songs and reactions in one day. Cool!
the great reverend Areen brown
Reverend AL Green, Definitely should be in your top 5.... Not my top five, YOUR Top 5!!! Just kidding, definitely my top five. lol
Memphis Soul at its best.
It's a beautiful song and his voice is just wonderful! Asia, so glad to see that you look like you're feeling better!
This man it's just one of the most soulful singers ever, I saw him in the late nineties at the Beacon theater in New York City and he is just phenomenal. His voice was still intact, hit all the notes along with rising inflections and ad libs . He sounded just as good as he did on the records that I listen to in the early 70s I was a little kid listening on my transistor radio and to my older sister's albums.. Except this time nearly 30 years after I first got turned on to his groove. There he was 5 ft in front of me on the stage!!!! Live in the flesh commanding all attention!!!!He was handing out roses to all the girls in the first few rows where I was sitting. The guy still had the Midas touch!!!
Met him a few times in Memphis, my wife worked for the company that handles his securities. The Rev. Al Green is a very nice person🌹
Y'all gotta do Al Wilson's song "SHOW AND TELL!!" My very favorite song in the 70's R&B at it's finest...Thank you both for all the reactions, and the best music!! 😍😍😍
Mothers'-milk to me. This is what I grew up on in the early 70s. Along with Led Zeppelin and old Dylan and Beatles records and Sesame Street, of course. (Thanks, mom and dad!)
Please watch this song live, my suggestion is 'Late Show January 13 1995'. His energy and enthusiasm is incredible.
TRUE STORY ---------Al lived on our street way before he hit it big . We often would hang out and he would sing for us !!! My girlfriend dated him for a while .
Al Green is amazing BUT….I prefer Otis Redding!!!!!!!!
This song reminds me of the movie Pulp Fiction. It was in the soundtrack. Maybe a John Travolta or Bruce Willis scene.
Silky smooth 70's mood music, nothing like this now, Al had many classics.
Al is Fantastic! He evokes the emotions and the soul of the song! Yes, you were robbed....his ending on the song should never be cut off! It's criminal! I'm with BJ!
I love Al Green but you can't forget about James Ingram , Al Gero , Teddy Pendergrass , Peabo Bryson , Bill Withers and so on !!
Al Green !!!! what a sexy song . him and Barry white break barriers, if you know what I mean!!
Bill Withers I'M HER DADDY, my favorite Bill song.
Yes sir! Al Green, Marvin Gay, Barry White, Luther Vandross will just melt your heart!
I love Al Green, a Memphis treasure. One of my friends in Memphis shared with me her Graceland policy. She’d take guests from out of town to Graceland, but only on Sunday after they went to Al Green’s church first. (They are surprisingly close.) It was a great plan, so I stole it. Made for an interesting trip!
An All Time soulful classic tune.zBJ you need to add Lou Rawls for that soulful singing voice.
BJ missed that opening love salvo from Asia.....cute.
Al Green recorded over 100 versions of this song and HATED this version because of the thin falsetto. He and the producer argued about it. Producer won, we all won.
Thank you for playing Al Green I've been listening to him since I was 11 he is the greatest President Obama sang the song to Michelle Obama on TV I remember that
Oh man. I remember the school dances where this was one of the most requested songs. Excellent belly rubbin' music!!
I went to school with Al nephew and nieces East Kentwood high suburbs of Grand Rapids Michigan. Great gospel singer
Whenever this song played and me and my wife was by each other, we’d catch each other looking at each other…we been divorced over 20 years and still have a strong bond, we must for the sake of the kids and grandkids we created, it’s not physically but spiritually.
Al green’s tracks always manages to fuse gritty drums with smooth soul melodies-it’s miraculous…Love & happiness is another great track of his💯
I love to hear Al Green! I'm glad I grew up in this Era of music. Thank you for taking your time and sharing with us. 🇺🇸
Oh yeah 👍
I know Al Greens voice in a second and I'm a rocker...many consider him the greatest, Marvin Gay my personal favorite
BJ you got old school heart and soul. Try Al Green doing Love and Happiness. His album I’m Still in love with you is on my 5 albums to have on a desert island list.
You may remember this from your Pulp Fiction reaction when Marseilles is paying Butch to take a dive in the fight
This was the number 1 song out of the top 500 rnb songs on 98.7 Kiss FM in NYC.
I love all kinds of music but I can honestly say this song is the greatest song ever made. It’s quite literally perfect in every way.
Good morning to you Asia and BJ To God be the glory Would you get a chance Pull up the song called just to be with you by the spinners You will find that the song we'll take you back on a musical journey back in Time with that being said Take care and be blessed
1971, and I was in the 8th grade and would sing this to my girlfriend. I'm 67 years old now, and what memories this song brings back.
Al Green was "The man" in the early to mid 70s.
Al Green 💚 girlfriend killed herself back then. It hurt him bad. True story!
My husband used to call this ‘oats music’. Anyone British will understand 🇬🇧
Have you reacted to Me & Mrs Jones by Billy Paul yet? That one and this one by Al Green are both amazing. ☺️
❤❤❤❤
🌹🙏🤠👋👋
If you don't like this song, you need to see a psychiatrist. One of the best songs ever created and one of the great interpretations given by the right reverend, Al Green. For one of the best from this era, everyone should check out the Rozzi with Scary Pockets funk cover.
Check out Kennedy Center Honors AL Green. It is AWESOME!!
✨💫 The Reverend Al Green has an incredible songbook! You guys need to do yourselves a favor and put on his greatest hits. It’ll be a treat and you’ll love him forever. 💫✨
P.S. Tina Turner’s version is damn awesome too!!
Same with President Obama’s version 😉☺️
Cosigned 🙂
Al is one of the 5 or 6 great all-time soul singers: Ray, Sam, Otis, Aretha, James and Al. Check out Al's "Love And Happiness" or "I'm Still In Love With You" next. 😊
He became a preacher because his girlfriend committed suicide. It hurt him. She thought he was leaving her.
Al joins the band Chicago for a great version of Tired of Being Alone. You would love it!!
no, Top 1, but I love Marshall Tucker Band's Doug Gray too.
Fucking classic, just the opening is good and then it just keeps building, fucking love this song al green is amazing
One of the absolute best!!! (Well, after Marvin, of course!)
The Reverend Al !! Nice reaction. Back in the 70’s, radio would play this song 12 times a day, didn’t bother me one bit !! 😁
This was the #1 hit in America the week I was born in September 1970.
50 years ago I lost my childhood to this song ❤
Oh my! Story time lol I was blessed to be enriched by black culture, my best friend and his family. Such memories of staying over his house and those cook outs when the family and friends got together eating, the music, the smell of food in the air oh my. The ladies would put this song on and tell me "come here baby" dance with us they love this little chunky white boy moves lol They used to tell me oh my you can move, and I used to eat it up! lol Al on in the background and that food goodness what good memories. Miss those times so much. Thanks for the post guys and the memories lol Stay safe and much love Asia and BJ
If you haven't already, you should listen to one of the live versions here on youtube. They are actually better than the recorded single version.
I truly believe that Al Green makes every white me feel like they have soul the man is velvet. By the way this was my wedding dance song and yes Al brings the love later on that night 😁
Saw him live, in Oakland, with Buddy Guy and Santana. That was a great show.
