Your cinematography is on point, the intro was so so beautifully shot. Also, nostalgia kicking in hard, this video makes me want to travel to Japan again so bad!
Hey Alex - what is that photographer jacket/vest thing you are wearing in this video? Looks quite useful would like to check if I can get it here in Korea
I'm revisiting a lot of your videos right now, and truly, your work stands apart from so many of the current photography RUclipsr's hitting the streets. Your perspective is fresh and considered, engaged and inspired. I hope we get to see some more video work from you soon (and if I ever got a chance to buy a print of 2:26, I definitely would--what a perfect slice of such a surreal scene that feels perfectly like Tokyo).
At 12:21 when the older guy infront of you pulls up his camera for a quick shot, it was like a manga scene where the main character is about to meet his master. Fucking epic.
lemme say in bahasa : gua tuh pengen banget bisa kek gini ga malu lakuin semuanya sendiri tapi ntah kok gua punya kekuatan untuk itu selain modal besar dan gada dari hidup aku yg bisa bikin kayak gini. IVAN Hyung you make my dream you did great since i see your video titled introvert photographer
Your style and cinematography skills are off the chart. I look forward to every one of your posts. Some of the best human, photography focused work on YT. Having visited Japan many times this brings back so many fond memories. Keep up the great work!
So awesome to see you guys have a great time together!!! Stunning grabs from this hangout!!! Wish I could have joined in! Let me know if anyone is down for Tokyo between Feb 18-21? Or if you happen to be in Shikoku from Feb 7-20 :)
You all took great shots but I gotta say the gentleman that shot in film had great captures, I must say he has a very quick eye and you can notice it from this video 🔥 can’t wait to see more Tokyo shots from you !🙌🏽
@@ivunchow na, not if you’re using it to take photos of trash cans or something random 😂 I feel like people use film as an excuse to make bad photos be considered “good” just cause it’s film
Or maybe I’m a hater idk but regardless if it’s film or digital a great photograph will always be a great photograph regardless with what it was taken on
Great video! I haven't been to Japan for 3 years now. Hopefully I can visit again next year. Also I agree with Alex, Japan is such a great place for street photography, as "camera culture" really is a thing in Japan. Whenever I'm in Japan I don't feel out of place walking around with my camera. I'm always happily surprised when I get to a train station and see so many random people taking pictures of trains.
So much fun pausing the video to have a long look at shots with the sun low in the sky providing long shadows and high contrast. 8:46 was my favorite with the trees providing a color filter for a brilliant shot. 👍
@@johnvr1 I feel like nobody talks about it. But i'm switching my channel back to photography.. Just getting my website finished up and I will be talking about it. I came to Mexico City but am truly disappointed. I had high expectations but I would never use a photo with someone wearing a mask in my portfolio. So i'm flying to Ecuador next month.
This video is so awesome. I love your music choices. You're so talented, Ivan. Also, would you mind sharing the brand of your camera strap for your Ricoh? I LOVE IT! (I have the GRIIIX but need a good neck strap and haven't found one). Thanks and cannot wait for more content. PS Japan is my dream photo shoot :)
Thanks! Hope you get a chance to visit someday 🙏🏻 as for the strap, I don’t remember the brand, it’s a phone/camera strap that I got from a local camera store. Sorry!
Hi Ivan, I am just starting out at photography and film making. Just wanted to let you know that I find your videos really inspiring. Please keep them coming.
Ah yes it's finally here, the first of my Japan addiction videos is out... The light definitely hit big time. You guys all got some great shots! Looking forward to some nutty action in the next!
I enjoyed the video. It is not as thought provoking or contentious as your previous stories, but there is so much joy in this video. At the heart of the matter, we make these images because it brings us joy. The creative discussion is so very important, but at some point and on some days and on some videos, it is just about having fun. I'm looking forward to what you make next.
Victoria has some of the best weather in Canada, even better than Vancouver, significantly less rain. When they do get snow it usually lasts for one or two days only.

Thanks Karin! Book that ticket asap 😉
Had me smiling the whole time reliving such a chill and beautiful day.. So glad we finally got to meet and shoot. Thanks for coming out to play. 🙌

I want to travel there so bad. I love that culture. Everything there seems so much more peaceful. Is that true?
It can get pretty chaotic in Tokyo 😅
What camera store was that?
Booking ticket to Japan now. Seeya there 😂😂😂😂
Have fun!
Nothing beats 6x6 format FP4. Best film available. 👍

A great vlog bro. Super production like a mini movie. I remember the Leica shop in ur video. I visited it few years ago before covid came.

I have a sincere question. Do you get tired of photographing people wearing masks?
Very tired of it 🤷🏻♂️
I was just in Japan and all those masks severely limited my shooting and shooting pleasure.
