FYI: Masks are (still) required by law here in Hong Kong. Removing them can result in a heavy fine / jail time. That is why we have ours on, we don’t have a choice. Please keep that in mind, thank you 🙏🏻
Visited Hong Kong three years ago. Then the face masks was highly illegal. Times have changed. (Edit: Or maybe not? Forced off or on, is basically the same thing, I suppose …) Also, it was great seeing such a joyful and inspiring video from Hong Kong. I want to go back as soon as possible. PS! Extremely well made video. I loved every second of it.
This was a nice refreshing vibe. I really enjoyed the commentary from each of the two ladies, switching back and forth between languages. Thank you for making this film. ✌️
Great video! Love the banter and candid conversation. Also love the Sau Kei Wan area where they still have a lot of old buildings / stores around that has not been tainted!
I say it for all your videos but I have to say it again, I absolutely love them ! I also have a soft spot for HK ❤ which made the video even more enjoyable, thanks Ivan
Nice girls, as mentioned in the other comments it's nice to see girls involved in Street Photography. I wouldn't mind seeng more of you together. Great to see a piece of the back streets of Hong Kong. Sitting on the other side of the world it is such an alienated world but very rewarding for street photograpghers. Love the edit and the BG musice, well done Thanks for sharing. Another one to go and I have seen all of your vids here on YT I was/is a pleasure and your channel is a great find I will follow !!!
I really enjoyed watching this video! The way the voices come from the off while the B-roll is running in combination with the ambient sounds, really gives this an awesome documentary type feel, but is still its own thing. More of these videos in this style please!
Cool video man, thanks for sharing. A different take from your normal cinematic masterpieces, but a really nice change of pace. I literally felt you zooming towards the scene when the man was repairing the truck!
I enjoyed this video so much! Going on a photo walk with friends is so much fun. I particularly loved the photos you'd each take of the same subject and that turned out very different, and the ones were you photographed one another.
Love the vibe of this video Ivan! So great to also be discovering other passionate and talented photog + you are making me want to take my GRiii out more ;-) Keep up the good work!
I saw the notification of your video over the weekend, and decided to wait to watch it on Monday morning... so relaxing watching your Photowalk makes my cloudy Monday morning even smoother... thanks man! superb as always. Great to see more street photographers in your video, I hope to see this more often
I love this style of vlog, could watch them all day. Such a great way of discovering new photographers and hearing new perspectives. Nailed it as always Ivan!
instantly fell in love with your style of streetphotography! I feel that you really captured the moments of hong Kong people living their lives. and the shots are close enough with I like and the story telling as well! great!
This is a great vlog as well as a great reportage of HK local street photographers! I really like it and it made me wanna go there to shoot photos! Plus, GRIII and M240 are my daily main gears 📷😊📷 A remarkable work! Thanks Ivan!!!
i love this! im learning to do photography and is in hong kong as well, i love seeing videos based in hong kong since its so nice to see something so familiar. :)
the discussion of people being afraid of the unknown, I can identify with greatly. Like how you made this unformal video, it was just like talking to two young people to see their views on street that doesn't differ from my own. U-B Peaceful☮
Everytime a video of you appears on YT it is like xmas for me 🙏 thanks a lot! How did you achieve this dark looks of you photos? I try and try but I can‘t get your secret 😅
I loved this video, loved the interaction between you three and it's also really nice to hear your own voice speaking native! Looked like a real fun time, I would have loved to join in with the x100 🤣 unfortunate about the mask situation, HK is just an awesome place for street. Next video: how to protect yourself while taking street photography
How worth it is the media mod for the GoPro? I guess in terms of how you were using it in this video. Also I love watching street photographers collab in videos and learning how others move/work in the craft.
Actually doesn’t sound that much better with the media mod on. A little muddy imo. You can eq a little in post but that’s extra work. Also, a small mic w/ dead cat attached shows up in frame 🤷🏻♂️
As an elderly Gweilo living in Hong Kong I tried taking street photography but have now cut back a lot and try not to include people. The general atmosphere became quite threatening and intimidating and you can never trust the police now.
Ivan, this seemed like a rejuvenation of sorts for your channel. I’ve always felt that were non intrusive when making images and this does seem apparent in this videos where the guest photographers were highlighted with your images in between. It was great seeing spontaneous moments between you lot and life in Hong Kong. I was a little disappointed that you didn’t bring your Leica Ivan. But a lot of “film RUclipsrs” use a Leica not as a part of themselves which can never be detached but something for a moment. Possibly because it is a challenge using it day in and day out. A commitment not to go the easier path. Thank you Ivan. Your film making skills are getting better. Editing too.
@@ivunchow Thanks for response. The reason I asked is because i like to buy some photo gear from Hong Kong, certain things that Japan and U.S. don't have at the moment. Like Leica CLE film rangefinder camera. That small compact rangefinder. Or I maybe wrong about Japan's inventory supply. I did order something awhile back from Hong Kong, photography related, under $20. Never got it. The time and money try to get refund was not worth it. So, I'm left with a bad impression but I really should've been more careful and realize not bothering to investigate how reputable that store was. That's my story.
It’s not a fetish, it’s reality. If you were to capture anything else it wouldn’t be authentic, and that’s not what street is about. It’s a sign of the times and an accurate portrayal of life. The raw and real representation of the now is the beauty of street, not what exists within the frame.
@@neves118 I went through the last 2 years taking photos and there’s not 1 mask on my feed. I’m in Thailand and even though there’s no mandate, everyone still wears them. The fetish I don’t get is the one about taking pictures of people walking around in the street. It’s so boring and overdone. It’s shooting for style instead of self expression.

no worries. always a good idea
No need to explain. If someone doesn't understand why people would mask during a raging pandemic, it's their own problem to deal with.
Street photography usually feels like a boys’ club so i’m grateful for this video. also some fantastic photos 👍 great work
Lots of dope female street photographers out there!
Really enjoyed this..
Would love to see more of these street walks with guests

Thanks man 🙏🏻

You all were having fun with this one and that's all that really matters. Inspiring as well.
Exactly..

Happy to hear it man, thanks!
This was so fun!!

Love this! It makes me miss HK.
🖤
Great video again, love the feat. Artists ❤ and good to hear some Cantonese 😂
多謝晒 🙏🏻
Loved it. Also it must have been some work with the subtitles but I enjoyed hearing you speak Cantonese. Wouldn't mind more of it!
"China loading.."
Thanks man 🙏🏻🙏🏻
Hong Kong is such a photogenic city! Great video
Yea, there’s a lot going on here, overwhelming at times 😵💫
Really nice style in this one, as always. Thanks for doing these, happy shooting!
Thanks!
Very inspiring, I liked it.

China loading…..😅😢….sounds like a good title for a book!! Great job as always. Nice to see a more human face to the Hk photo scene love this!!
Good idea, I need to get a trademark it 😅

Such a cool video! Do you mind me asking the name of the metal flower charm that you have on your flash bulb slot at around 14:19?

Hi Ivan I’m thinking about getting a gr3 or gr3x for street photography any ideas? Which one is better?
Still undecided 😅 I’ll make a video about it
wished we have more female street photographers

Thank you! Means a lot to hear that 🙏🏻
How much those Ricoh go for in Hong Kong and what is reputable PHOtography store Hong Kong people can shop/ordee from? Thanks.
There are a lot of stores in HK that are reputable, just not sure if they ship internationally. It’s not cheaper here, just tax free.

how long did it take to load china? 😂
Quicker than expected
oceans of expressionless masked faces. skipping this fetish
