"Swedge"??? Maybe they call them?..I use applewood as well from my orchard,very dense...Nice.. I also have Birch I stack like leather as the Puukko knives the Finnish folk construct..
Amazing what material we have sentimental to our home range..

What grits did you use when you clamped the knife down and started hand sanding??? 400 grit?

Like 1800. I only ran it at about a third of what it can do in this video. :)
