I made it to coin guys shop about a month ago. Coin Guy, his wife, son in-law and daughter are great. I went to his son Brian's shop in St.augistine, I didn't get to meet his son, but got a great deal on constitutional silver for me, and a really nice purse for my wife. If you live anywhere in central Florida support these businesses, they are great people.

The Coin Guy is the greatest. I collected patriotic Civil War tokens and hard time tokens about 25 years ago and this video has me wanting to crack open my safe and look through them again. I love the patriotic sayings on them. The one that has the flag on the obverse says "if anybody attempts to tear it down shoot him on the spot". I also have the error token that says spoot instead of spot. I also have one that has Jefferson Davis hanging from a noose on the obverse and it says "Deat to Traitors" on the reverse. I wish I lived closer to Florida. I would love to show you and Coin Guy my collection.

lol so I binged watched Coin Guy vids and finished yesterday I cant tell you how exciting it is to see a new one on the way, what a great friendly guy with a wealth of information...
PS He reminds me of Carol O'conner, the actor who played Archie Bunker in All in the family, even though the character was rough around the edges the actor was supposedly the nicest guy in the world :)

Glad to see a video on Civil War Tokens and Hard Times Tokens. In 2018 the Civil War Token Society published the newest book on Civil War tokens based on the works of George and Melvin Fuld. The newest book "Patriotic Civil War Tokens 1861-1865" is an excellent source of information. Incidentally, the Southern patriotic token is known as "The Wealth of the South" token minted in 1860 and bears the inscription "No Submission to the North."

I have just become interested in collecting Australian store tokens from the 19th century, so this video is very timely. It's fascinating to me that some small businesses had enough money and power to mint their own tokens.
Unlike digital credit card points today, these 150+ year old coins are permanent and an enjoyable part of coin collecting.

Interesting take on the subject--it is good to see someone speak about the true issues of the Civil War. As an aside, don't know if they are connected, but we have a GINN's store in Williamsburg, VA. Originally I think they were an office supply company, but now offer gifts and collectibles.
