My Lunette ring hooks up to the channel on the trailer and has over 1/4 inch of play. The trailer store said to just put washers for slop. Really. What should the width of the lunette ring mounting surface that hooks up to the channel.

Will the pintle latch lock over the hitch after the trailer is situated on the ball? To be used as another layer avoiding the trailer popping off ball...

No, the latch is only intended to be used with a lunette ring. If you are using this setup for a traditional ball mount you would keep the clasp open and attach the trailer coupler to the ball as usual.

Was just noticing that it IS stamped 1400 lbs, and 14000 lbs tow rating. I think you looked too fast

6:41 you are correct. 1,400 lbs not 14,000 lbs. I think I saw a comma after the 4 (14,00). If you look at the 14,000 above and the 14,00 below it appears that both have a comma after the 4, rather than 1,400 like it should be. Still doesn't explain the missing ZERO! My bad!
