- The most populous of the 79 neighborhoods in the city of St. Louis. See the Cathedral Basilica- (inside has the most mosaics in the western hemisphere)- the Niemann Mansion, the site of the mansion of David Francis- the only person to serve as mayor of St. Louis and Governor of Missouri- where both Presidents Cleveland and T.Roosevelt stayed overnight in 1903, Fullerton's Westminster Place, Second Presbyterian Church with Tiffany windows, historic Portland Place- home of the Busch/Faust Mansion, the homes of Kate Chopin, T.S. Eliot, Tennessee Williams, Albert Bond Lambert- who our airport is named after, the World Chess Hall of Fame, ethnic cuisine restaurants, the historic Chase Park Plaza, and much more.

Central West end is SUCH gorgeous place. I love the houses and the history. So many people really don't know what's there. I'm so glad you highlighted it! I'm loving this series of St. Louis neighborhoods!!
Lol thank you!
You've given me a new appreciation for St. Louis and it's history. Lived many years near there but had no idea there was so many historical buildings. Thanks again for a great job you do 🎉
Thank you- I really appreciate it. That means a lot to me.
I lived at 4917 mcpherson
Thanks for the walk down memory lane. Lived at Taylor and McPherson from '79 to '82 while student at WashU. Hung out at Llwelyn's for stiff drinks and greasy chips, and waited tables at the Palm Beach Cafe. All hail the original Carl Bissinger's chocolates on McPherson !
Thanks for watching and your stories- I love hearing them!

Loved the video and love the CWE. I grew up in STL but been out of it for40 years, but still have family there. Will be back at Xmas. Great to see these locations again. I remember taking my girlfriend, who was going to Jewish Hospital School of Nursing to the Steeplechase at the Chase for drinks. Always nice. And Maryland Plaza and Tom's Bar and Grill. There was a Greek bar at on Euclid and Maryland Plaza called the Acropolis. The owner, Gregory was a great guy and he often had belly dancing there was well. Thanks for the memories!
That's great info- I love to hear these stories- thanks so much for watching!
interesting and informative.
Love the structures of building plus love the style of houses. It's all new to me. impressive!
Thank you so much for watching. I'm glad you liked it. That really makes my day- appreciate it very much.
The residents of the CWE are continuously dealing with theft of their property.
When they are out at those restaurants the ladies purses 👜 👜 always get stolen and their license plates get stolen or their house gets burglarized while they are at work.
The residents of the CWE pay a high price to live there not just the cost of the house or the apartment.
I'm an ex-resident of St Louis now.
When you see someone walking down in the CWE they are taking mental notes of your stuff.
Dexter Lombardo 🤠 🧔
Thanks for watching.
Did you visit the long gone Old Saint Stephen's Lutheran Church on Olive and Boyle ?
No I never did get the chance to do so. Was it beautiful?
Hello dear friend How are you 🌷🌷
Very Beautiful Video my friend 🌷🌷🌷
Thank you so much! Doing well, how are you?
There are visitor maps etc. But they don't show what these videos do. Thanks!😢😮😅😊
Thanks so much for the nice comment.
@@organstl you're welcome.
Erlanger House - You made a comment about there being a number of homes throughout the state. Erlanger owned them? You didn't finish that thought!
I mentioned there are 36 National Historic Landmarks in the state of Missouri- 15 are in St. Louis.(14 in the city, 1 in the county) This is 1 of the 36.
👍
Raggedy Ann and Andy are in the mosaics at the Basilica.
Thanks for watching- I really appreciate it.
So McCloskey moved to new house? Not same one in GUN INCIDENT.
At 26:50 is their house where that occurred. I first mentioned it toward the beginning of the video- that is their office across the street from the basilica.
See if that house on Portland Place looks familiar. Thanks so much for watching- it was a really fun one- there is so much stuff there to see!
@@organstl Yeah that's the one. Sent this vid to my brother. He has not lived in STL many years, but he will love this.
@@alexisr5199 That is awesome! Thank you.
Try and actually look up the plans, permits, and any construction photos… we have been lied to…
You all need to watch My Lunch Break and do some homework. These building, all lies about them. Just saying.
