Brewery Lights and Clydesdale Parade in St. Louis
See the Anheuser-Busch Brewery lit up for Christmas- a National Historic Landmark- and the Clydesdales- at their stables- and again in the parade, led by the band and illuminated vehicles. They are St. Louis treasures. We went into the Lyon Schoolhouse/Museum- the oldest building on the property- and explored the all the lights! It was amazing!

    Itv really is too bad that the constant threat of black mob violence is so bad, that not a lot of people will even think about going there. I was shot at by a noble person of color after a blues game while driving down the road back in the 90's. Nope. Not this pig.

      Thanks again for watching. That is very interesting comment. Yes I have heard of them but I have not eaten that. They still have places that sell them. My dad also said he didn't eat them but he thinks his dad probably did and he remembers a place on Gravois and Mackenzie that had a big sign out front advertising brain sandwiches. Very interesting.

    If you havent tried them yet, you should try Old Vienna's "All Dressed" chips! Their Riplets are a little too hot to be enjoyable for me.

      Thanks so much for watching- the one on Benton Park Neighborhood takes in part of that. We start at Hodak's and eventually get to Cherokee Street and the Lemp Mansion. The other one I have on that is the Cinco de Mayo Parade and Festival- that is just of the festival with the people and food. That is what I have on Cherokee so far- thanks for the question.

    The rail road McArthur bridge was NOT part of route 66. The route 66 bridge is on Riverview blvd. next to the current I-270 bridge.

      Thanks for watching- I appreciate your time. It can be quite confusing- there were many bypass and alternative routes. It did go over the MacArthur Bridge- which included a car deck- before it went over the Old Chain of Rocks Bridge- which it went over in the 1930s. There are all kinds of different routes and re-routes that were part of it also. It's hard to keep track of all of it.

    It's called Dog Town because some of the Asian contingents brought over dogs (to eat!) and they all broke free (or were set loose?) of their pens and scattered into the surrounding neighborhoods.. there were supposedly stray dogs all over for many years after the fair closed

    I'm assuming Benton is the name on Benton Park. To me it will always be pronounced show tow. I've never heard a person in St Louis especially those born here pronounce it the Way you are some people say gravois differently as well

      Yes Benton Park is also named after Thomas Hart Benton. I also say "Show tow" like everyone else but was just pronouncing Auguste Chouteau's name like that for the video- It was pronounced differently, but we have "Americanized" it. Ha!

    I was so annoyed when I came all the way to Jefferson Barracks and all the museums were closed, although it was in operating hours! Spent 4 hours driving to the closed museums. But the cemetery was beautiful

      It is important to keep everything up to date and looking good- one thing I give them credit for are the flowers around the city in the spring and summer. They make things look really nice. I've seen them around Ballpark Village, along Market Street, Laclede's Landing, and all around in different spots- and they do make a difference and make things look good- no one really ever mentions those.

    I got to spend 5-6 months rehabbing and painting the old windows and sills inside the base. Such an honour. 1 Grant Dr, was unoccupied for remodeling at the time. I was the only person in the building but never felt alone. 👀 I will also be the 4th generation of my clan to rest there some day. (Legends are spoken about someone who may or may not have planted a Blues Stanley Cup puck by a certain stone) Good tour. Well done.

    There is a st.louis county. St.louis city just isnt part of it. Since the civil war time…st.louis county government is set up like a charter, if thats what youre getting at….

    There is no such thing as Saint Louis County.Sajnt Louis is not in a county just like Kansas City Missouri is not in a county,but,East Saint Louis,Illinois is in a county and Kansas City,Kansas is in a county. And by the way,Ferguson Missouri is not Saint Louis!
