Well, depends, the good stuff also give you up to +5 popularity, you can use that to cut rations. Another option is to go full religion and good things, place your stockpile beside stone/iron if plentiful and go zero food full quarry economy. Bad things are better for a small economy, the larger you want your economy, the better a no-food good things+religion build becomes, you reach that point fairly quick, around 40 to 50 peasant eco is the tipping point.
@@Vidhur bro i had taxes maxed. double rations and still had no problem. ever really realized any drop in efficiency from workers and didn't even know the combat buff
so it only affects health of the units? if you're defending yourself you can overcome the health debuff by using walls/moats/firepits, and produce way more.
Means most effective would be negative Fear while you are still mainly producing and not fighting and then instantly switching to a positive fear factor for combat, rigth? Or are there even more aspects to it?
@@Kudaka96 Yeah, but considering the money you get from selling overproduced goods, and taxes collected when positive fear is in use, i guess thats just a small aspect.
@@estatexfanboy9993 the thing i hated with the fear factor is that people quit work and left the castle like. how do you have max fear and still have ANYTHING. i tried being THE BAD GUY and i had a ghost town with tons of spinny red markers.
@@JS-rv3et religion, small bribe and double ration food. Thats negates extreme bad fear factor. Also if you maxed bad things you have a lots of food and money so bribe and food is not big deal. Also you can make church easy with huge money
@@Dagoth99the easiest way to get rid of the minus popularity of fear facto is the Ale and inns. With that you don't even need religion which cost gold and no double rations you can just sell the excess of food that way.
i never use this kinda thing, when u know how to attack efficiently. u don't need that fear factor, also u don't wanna attack the enemy without preparation too, unlike computer ai who like to attack in small party troops
Negative fear factor = 50% production, -25% damage. Positive = -50% production, +25% damage. It does not affect health. That means positive is at 50% production and negative is at 150%, 3x as much. The positive opinion does mean they can go to half rations or increase tax. Negative can probably field twice as big armies, so assuming everyone is fighting at once, you have 2x 75% damage and full 100% hp vs one with 125% damage and 100% hp. You'd have 150% damage and 200% hp vs 125% damage and 100% hp. Being good to your people is more of a meme than an actual strategy. But it DOES reduce micro.
could you make a comparison please of how much the fear factor is better economically. I mean with good factor you can tax your population more or give them less food and sell the surplus. It doesn't seem clear-cut to me

Maximum negative fear factor will boost production by 50% while reducing army combat stats by 25% and vice versa.
that's mid maxing to 100% xD

Who would've guessed that when 2 equally sized armies fight eachother the one with the massive buff beats the one with the massive debuff?!
its still interesting to see by how much given that crusader combat can snowball these effects especially well
i love stronghold.
and NEVER knew that the fear loved factory affected the troops i thought it was a economic thing didn't know it had combat effect

Nice
wow that's highly effective!
Yeah but Positive fear factor sucks in literally every other aspect lol:Ur workers are lazier, wander around more, produce less...
if you put a lot of gardens, the warriors will fight well, but the peasants will be lazy and skip work
