the actress definitely got a lot criticism for her weak acting , which quite standed out , as she is the main lead
Yes...but it's not really her fault...she was a model,she even refused for the role,but I think the filmmakers insisted
The essential arc of the story is going from Janardhan seeking heartbreak & pain to get recognition to Jordan at his lowest, with all the recognition in the world, begging that "Whatever happens...My heart shouldn't break"
In the beginning, he will go to any length for that pain. By the end he is willing to go to any length to save himself from it. Remember, he doesn't drink and only does so with Heer - after the hospital scene he is showing up drunk to numb the pain.
The look the old veteran musician ( Ranbir's great uncle and legendary actor Shammi Kapoor) gives is of concern - he knows the sheer talent of Jordan but sees that he is self-destructing.
The movie is highly symbolic and poetic - the cruel joke is even after losing Heer Jordan keeps on becoming more famous. He is at a point where he doesn't care at all about it - but has it in abundance.
It's like the western concept of "selling your soul" - Jordan "trades his heart." Almost like a deal with the Devil, unlimited fame & adulation for unlimited pain and heartbreak.

3 Reason why I go and rewatch this movie from time to time:
1. Music Album and their inclusion in the storyline and screenplay
2. Ranbir Kapoor and his closeup scene with amazing acting skills
3. Seeing my college and getting nostalgia of those lawns

30:57 he is actually Ranbir’s grand uncle in real life. Which means he is brother of Ranbir’s grandfather. He is a very legendary actor from old Bollywood. His name is shami Kapoor :)
Oh this should be a top comment. Also to note the scene they were doing on the boat was an adaptation of the classic scene from "Kashmir ki Kali" done by Ranbir's grand uncle Shami Kapoor himself!!! And he passed away before the release of this movie 💔💔
RK was great here. as was the music...
Nargis was underwhelming but not that bad, given it was her debut in a Hindi movie as a non-native speaker. better than some other modern debutants lately

A week Ago, I was in Mumbai (INDIA), in a Mohit Chauhan Concert. And he sings each & every song of Rockstar Movie and that was Phenomenal. And one of the Best Moment of my Life.
Just for the INFORMATION : All the heavy metal guitar played in this movie is by Orianthi Australian guitarist and singer and songwriter, yes She is the Lead Guitarist of Micheal Jackson - This is it Tour.. Here Imtiyaz Ali the Director and Rehman the music magician only wants a perfect chords for each and every situation and songs like Sadda Haq and Nadan Parindey too, so they Joined her in there project and make This Movie a blast.

Yes, Aditi Rao Hydari who plays the journalist is a good actress. The little sister did go on to star in a leading role in the Hindi adaptation of The Fault in Our Stars.

the reason that the actress’s performance is not the best is because she’s not an actress she’s a model and she did some modeling for a jewelry company and her pictures were all over India and the director of the movie saw some of the pictures and he wanted her to be in the movie and he contacted her agents and she told them she’s never been in movie before but the director insisted and wanted her in so she agreed.
These behind the scenes reason doesn’t help in getting the feeling of the chemistry. Her acting completely ruined the movie for me.
I believe she's a blank canvas so that you can reimagine her to be whoever you were in love with

Sanam Teri Kasam underrated but worth to watch it 💛 i believe Waleska will enjoy it a lot. Efra after DDLJ also. I love the storyline and the music is great. Thats my opinion 🤗

had the opportunity to see mohit chauhan live, what an artist, heavenly voice.
What I think the biggest irony is that thoughout the film it's seen that he's love heals her keeps her alive but ultimately it's his love that kills her too because you know she gets pregnant and her body can't handle it. What was supposedly the most beautiful moment of them is what eventually ended everything

That eating from hand thing, it’s really upto one’s comfort. May also vary from class to class, your community etc., but at the end of the day, it reaches down to comfort.

Rockstar is the movie which made me a fan of Ranbir Kapoor. He is a phenomenal actor. I’ve watched every movie of his since then. This man outperforms everyone he’s in a movie with. Animal is the latest one, where his performance was just extraordinary! I love this man! Can’t wait for y’all to explore more of his movies!!

Yes that song was censored because it shows Tibetan flag and Tibetan people holding board against China, so Chinese brand filed a case. This song was shot in Dharamshala (HP) India where many ot Tibetan resides. Nice review🎉🎉🎉

You should definitely have a look on "Katyar Kaljat Ghusali" , a "Marathi" movie. The story is based on an Indian classical vocalist, Khansaheb.
You will definitely love that movie as there are too well classically trained singers singing in that movie such as Shankar Mahadevan, Mahesh Kale , Arjit and many more . 😊

Mohit Chauhan is very underrated singer! My all time favourite. His voice is unique!
The next movie should definitely be Tamasha... It also has A.R. Rehman in it and better concept & storytelling than Rockstar... A masterpiece which was very ahead of Its Time (2015), Ranbir & Deepika's acting was also top notch in that.. Waiting for that... ❤

45:15 The poster/banner they censored said "FREE TIBET" but they didn't censor the Tibetan flag visible in the next second. The one with the yellow border with the white mountain in the middle and blue skies which you can see at 45:25
Some facts about this incredible album by AR:
1. There are two songs in the end fused together viz. 'Tum Ko' and 'Tum Ho'. Former is the song from the actress' point of view while latter from actor's. Hence, Tum Ko is sung by Kavitha Krishnamurthy and Tum Ho sung by Mohit Chauhan with those angelic hummings and soprano-esque voices by Suzanne D'mello
2. AR featured some international musicians in the album. The groovy Sadda Haq featured drummer Oscar Seaton and guitarist Orianthi. The gypsy type song, Hawa Hawa featured violinist Ann Marie. The song right after it, Aur Ho features Alma Fevoric who regularly collaborates with AR.
3. Multiple genres of music displays AR's versatility as a composer, you have Sufi music in Kun Faya Kun, the Indian classical-western fusion in Dichotomy of fame, the gypsy-flamenco-european music inspired Hawa Hawa, the Punjabi folk music inspired Katiya Karun, the disco transitioning Phir Se ud chala, the Spanish Tango inspired 'Tango for Taj' and of course everything centered around rock music with AR bringing his signature string arrangements and amazing chord progressions in different songs like Aur Ho, Tum Ho/Tum Ko and some places in the background score.
We watched this movie in theater and walked out so confused about our emotions. And loved the movie more and more as time went on. 😂 Ranbir really proved himself with this one as an actor.

"Phir se ud chala" is one of my all time favourite song. "Meri bebasi" (Aur Ho), the toughest song of this movie in my opinion. Mohit Chauhan is such an incredible singer. Truly a rockstar.
Agree, Aur Ho is a masterpiece, reflecting the depth of his fierce angst and loss-unbelievably edgy with raging pain and pathos. Nobody in the world can interpret abstraction like ARR😍

To witness even a better masterpiece, watch Guzaarish of hritik roshan and Aishwarya. One of the greatest acting and musical masterpieces. One of the most underrated movies of him by the magician Sanjay Leela bhansaali himself
He didn't die but he faded away from the limelight and forgotten like many other stars who fade away and we only here about them when they die after long time
Katyar Kalijat Ghusli next please, It is a Marathi drama musical - set in a kingdom in early British occupied India. The music album is amazing, and will be a great way for y'all to experience Indian classical music and also be unique as it is in Marathi not Hindi (i.e, not Bollywood).

In the end Jorden realised that his love is within himself. He found Heer inside him, he didn't need her physically to love her that is why the song lines goes "tum ho pass mere sath mere tum yun.. Jitna mehsoos karun tumko utna hi paa bhi lun" which means wherever he feels Heer he gets her love and he made music the route to reach her inside him.
And at the beginning it started as "yahan se bohat dur galat aur sahi ke pare ek maidan he wahan milunga tujhe" and in the end he did meet Heer in that "maidan" which is inside his head and heart.
The burning guitar signified that Heer died but you can see there is water dripping but the fire goes on which signifies even if Heer died His love for her still continued

Its not flawed... Its based on a concept called "choto galpo" which was very poetically described by Rabindranath Tagor - শেষ হয়ে হইলো না শেষ, means where the story ends but doesn't.
