Katrina - Ranbir dated for around 7 years and when they broke up they had to promote their film and it resulted in some of the most awkward film promotions ever. The two had some really uncomfortable and lowkey funny interviews at the time.
Idk why people are saying they aren't ready to watch Om Shanti Om, the movie came out when i was like 8 or 9 i think and I loved it even then, i didn't get all the references then but still thoroughly enjoyed it, they can definitely watch the movie because they genuinely seem interested in watching it, so I think you guys should definitely give it a go soon!! ✌️
That's the point.. they won't get the references.. for us maybe we have grown up with bollywood so even if we didn't understand the exact reference, it wasn't alien to us..
@@Sanj193 i don't think the references will be that alien because similar tropes exist in all movie industries, there hasn't been a single movie till now that couldn't grasp, I personally think they should just give it a go instead of waiting for so long that it gets overhyped in their heads and they expect something that the movie can't movie because of which they might end up not even liking it 😕
It's not the concept of references that's alien, it's just that they don't know that many actors and didn't watch enough movies yet. They won't get half the jokes in om shanti om cuz they don't know a lot of the actors in the cameos. Better to wait till they're better acquaintanted with bollywood.

A kind note to you guys - don't judge the music and videos from 5 secs clips. Give it the benefit of doubt atleast. This list doesn't mean that you will get musically brilliant songs, its just that we were dependent on TV channels like 9XM, MTV, etc because obviously we didn't have access to internet as casually as we have now, also in schools leisure time fun was to sing and dance on these songs, etc. But Ngl this time maximum upto 2014/15 Bollywood used to produce majority good songs and crappy stuff less but now its opposite the majority is crappy stuff.

i feel like u guys should watch the netflix documentary that revolves around yrf called 'the romantics', the most popular celebrities of all time appear and talk about their opinions and how they got popular, the documentary shows the history of Bollywood, and dives deeper into why this genre or certain actors become popular, and how yrf significantly contributes to the fame of Bollywood, it was so good, u guys would totally enjoy it!
Just one thing you should keep in mind while watching "Om Shanti Om" is that the movie is a spoof and a parody(most of the people who watched the movie missed this point and reference at that time that it's a satirical comedy/drama on bollywood) of various bollywood dialogues, movies, and actors. It's filled with satire on bollywood such as melodrama in indian cinema, horror, rebirth, politics, nepotism etc. Great dialogues, great acting, really a good story, amazing songs. And yes, you guys are ready for it.

Jane tu ya Jane Na, MUST WATCH, its an important movie for 90s kids generation (the movie came out about 13 years ago), one of the best romcoms ever in bollywood, you will love it and its essential watch for any bollywood watcher.

None of these songs are that nostalgic. These are actually not that old. Nostalgia for me is late 90s and early 2000s. More than the songs itself it's the memories attached to each of those songs. It's like a time capsule everytime I hear songs from that era I just get transported back to those times.

Its 2000's .. For us late 90's borns this is what we have actually grown up.. Aside from how music havd changed, it just hits us nonmatter whether songs are comic, emotional, romantic ir just plain silly.. Evdn the ways movies made and the pairings feels nostalgic..
Akshay and katrina kind of reigned in that era which is quite evident in this video..And after ranbir debuted he had gone on to rise, also enraan and kangana pairing.. Those movies ❤
Nowadays it feels as if movies are either mass action, biography, social message or stupid overdramatic comedy which is difficult to bear..Romance is just for the songs.. I do miss simple and sometimes silly plots of bollywood movies..

Well that would be whole another tea for you efra but in simple words salman and katrina had alreadt broken up before ek tha tiger era and the reason was ranbir and there was a period of weird awkwardness during ivs or public stint where he would roast her about it..

Instead if Om Shanti Om you guys should watch any of the Akshay Kumar 2000s comedies...his movies were absolute chaotic slapstick hilarious movies that could only exist in that decade only bcoz you cant even make comedy movies like that anymore....Akshay Kumar was like the Will Ferrell of 2000s...his comedy movies are absolute classics now in Bollywood but he also does great dramatic roles now and he was an action star in the 90s..so he has done it all..frankly any of the Priyadarshan Akshay Kumar movie is 10 times better than Om Shanti Om

9XM was/is? a tv channel that played these songs in the late 2000s and and till mid 2010s. So for children born in 90s that decade is nostalgic now.
Regarding om shanti om, if you are interested you should just go for it.. You are never going to be fully prepared if that's what you are waiting for.. That movie is kind of a tribute to bollywood and there are references which will be understood only and only if you have grown up with it.. So even if you continue watching 2-3 more years of hindi movies, you wont fully get it but that is not a hindrace.. You will be able to enjoy it..

Hey guys, i always like your in depth discussion in those videos. I have a request, please check out a Bangali Band and India's first Rock Band 'Moheener Ghoraguli'. They formed at mid 70's but disbanded at 1981 due to lack of popularity of rock that time. Later at 1995 their lead singer collected all their old songs and released 4 albums (with collaboration with new artists), which became immensely popular and basically started golden age of Bengali rock/ folk rock. One of their song i most like 'Aamar priyo caffe'. I bet Efra would like the guitar solo intro of it 😄
