Darnold made some really great throws. Those throws into levels. Those are hard to see, much less execute. Multiple big plays in crunch moments. His ability to move (something Kirk would not have been able to do) extended plays or allowed him to move to a place where he had a throwing lane. Huge credit to the defense on keeping it close, even though they didn't look the same today, for a while. Both offense and defense showed when it was absolutely needed. And how about our second kicker - hot damn, that's an impressive day!
It's still amazing how Sam Darnold came here as a bridge QB, would probably sit midseason if McCarthy was healthy, but Darnold has been balling. This is his team. You watch Kevin O'Connell's locker room speech and he always hand it off to Darnold at the end. KOC is the mfkin quarterback whispering. Even Daniel Jones choosed to come here.
Sam Donald came to Minnesota as “bridge QB “. It turns out Sam was not a “London Bridge QB”, that falls down, but a “Golden Gate QB”, who will lead Minnesota Vikings to prospect GOLD!
They've blown every off-season expectation completely out of the water. I don't understand how the narrative turned from "they'll win 6.5 games overall this season" to "Darnold will start seeing ghosts again soon", "the Vikings will come back down to earth this week", etc after going 5-0 & destroying their expectations. I mean, I don't put much stock in media attention & all that, but I get the feeling they'd have made a much bigger deal about it if another team were doing it. Keep destroying those expectations, MN!
I think it also helped that the Vikings upped the tempo on their second half scoring drives. Both of those TD drives lasted only about 4 minutes and it seemed to disrupt Arizona defenders who were unable to get set properly. Also massively helped to wake up the crowd
People don't talk about just how well the Cardinals have been playing and how good their defense is. The Vikings played a hell of a game to come back and win.
Old guy here. I watched part of this game, switching between this and the Steelers-Bengals shoot out. It came down to AZ being up 19-16 and had a 4th and goal. So do you kick the FG to go up 6 or try for the TD to make it a 2 score game? I don’t know what I would have done, but AZ kicked the FG to make it a 6 point lead, ensuring that to win, the Vikings needed a TD to win. I’ll bet the Cardinals felt pretty confident that they could hold them, since the Minnesota offense had been weak. Before I could switch back they flashed the final 23-22. The Vikes came back.
@@cayden_bianah, Cardinals made the right call. They got the ball back with a minute, 3 time outs and they only needed a field goal and couldn't do it. Plus, there's no guarantee AZ gets the touchdown on 4th down. You gotta put it on your defense to close out there. Take the FG, force them to score a TD.
@@suninmyeyesyes nah, we all know Cardinals offense isn't good let's be honest here. Kyler can't see over his offensive lineman's shoulders and the coaching staff also sucks. So, go for it, get up by a two score game and win. Don't play like wimps in football.
Once again this guy talks about a game that he didnt watch. No, dude they were NOT running the ball well. The Vikings actually ran 5 times the entire 2nd half.
This Vikings team unfortunately reminds me of the 2022 I think it was, team that went 13-3 by winning all the close games and then got blown out in the first round of the playoffs. Only thing different is the defense may be better, and Darnold at least has some mobility, in contrast to Cousins. I think O'Connell is doing a great job of coaching, but I just dont think they have the talent to go on a deep playoff run, starting with QB. The next 2 games are very winnable (Falcons and Bears) but they have a tough final 3 against Seattle, the Packers, and the Lions.
This team is nothing like the 2022 Vikings. 2022 Vikings had the 31st ranked defense, 9-0 in games decided by 8 points or less. It’s a miracle that team even won half the games they won. Not to mention they had a point differential of -3 despite winning 13 games. This team is for real, legit defense, beats legit teams, consistent play. This team definitely has the potential to be a dark horse contender, it all depends on how well Sam Darnold can rise to the occasion. Personally I don’t think we make it past the second round, but hey anything is possible
@@Maximumconfusion12 Good points. I agree, if Darnold can play well and eliminate the multiple turnover games, the Viking are a dark horse contender. On any given Sunday, they can beat any team in the NFC. However, I just dont think Darnold can put together enough mistake free games in a row to go deep into the playoffs.

The first play you showed is not Sam's fault. Man is un blocked and Addison is not ready for the pass. Sam didn't hold on to the ball.
Yup. Not even 2 seconds off clock before he’s disrupted.

6:38 wow. Akers and Hock both wide the hell open, too.

Cardinals should've went for it. Even if they didn't get it the vikings still had to go quite a ways to score

The Vikings are a legit team and can compete with anyone in the NFC for sure

@@edsmith9855 agreed. And I’m a Vikings fan lol. Hoping they prove me wrong but the Vikings always find ways to disappoint me
To be frank, you gotta give us a fan a great Sam Title.
I wish the Cardinals had won.
