  • In this video tutorial we're going to learn how to crochet this beautiful, top-down sweater with a V- opening.
    In the beginning, I have a chart that states the beginning stitches and set up for each size, please be aware that those stitches apply to projects that are made with the same or similar yarn and a 5mm crochet hook. For different size yarn and hook you'll have to adjust.
    Enjoy! :)

    I'm so happy!! After several restarts, including a complete frog back to the starting chain, I've now completed this part of the jumper! 🤗 Yours is the only v-neck top-down/raglan tutorial I have found that doesn't use the dreaded Granny Stitch. Thank you so much. Right, I'm ready for part 2 now! 🥰

    What if you need more rounds after joining the neckline to get to the sleeve opening length? Do you continue with a front seam? And what if you need more than that to get to correct bust width ?

    Hi .Thanks for the great pattern and step by step instructions. Just one question ....on row 3? Where we work 4 hdc 15hdc. 26hdc. 15hdc 4 hdc I think you may have mistakenly said 13 hdc again instead of 15 when explaining the set up. Apologies if I got it wrong.

    • @KikiCrochet
      @KikiCrochet  5 лет назад +2

      Hello, yes, sorry. In row 3 we should have 15 st. I do explain in the beginning of the row the set up of the stitches and mention 15, but I guess during the row I lost my count, lol. Thanks for mentioning it. :)

    Thank you so much for the great instructios, they are very easy to follow. If I continue increasing until I reach my bust cicumference, my armholes become much too big. I changed it by adding some CHAINS between front and back (see 35:30 of the video ) when I reached my armhole size, ( in order to have enough stitches for my bust measurement ). It was an easy adjustment that maybe others might need to do.

    I’m crocheting this beautiful v neck sweater but when i finish every row and start the new one i loose a stitch, i don’t know what i’ m doing wrong .i notice that my sweater is getting narrower. I close with a slip stitch , 2 stitches , turn and i go into the next stitch, (not into the 2 stitches space)is that right?

    I really liked this video. Your instructions are very clear. I'm working on the body of the sweater now and I keep forgetting to turn my work. I get so involved in the tv show that I don't realize that I somehow work right over my chains that I made at the beginning of the round. This is the first pullover sweater I have tried by crocheting. I got locking stitch markers with some of the other items I bought when I first began to crochet in the fall and I found that I could use them to stop my stitches from unraveling when I set my work aside. It saves me from losing my days work when cats and granddaughters get interested in yarn. Yesterday while I was working in front of the tv I took off the stitch marker and shortly after went past the turning point. I got frustrated with myself, pulled out my stitches and went to put away my work because I knew if I kept working on it in front of the tv I would do the same thing at the end of the next round. As I went to put on the stitch marker it hit me that I could use it as a reminder to turn my work. Since then I have done almost half of the lower part of the sweater and have not forgotten to turn my work once. This is a good idea for you to add to your easy version of doing things for those new to crocheting. I never thought just five months ago that I could make anything that wasn't a blanket or a scarf. Your explanations were so good I even tried a different size than what you did in the video. I never would have thought that I could do that if you didn't go through it so it made sense. I'm looking forward to getting this done before it gets too warm to wear it.

      Hello, Kim and thank you for your kind words! For a 3XL you will need to start with 64 ch, and the set up would be as follows:
      1-14-28-14-1. I've never worked bell sleeves, but I would have to give a try, I would work regular decreases up until the elbow and then from there on I would work increases for the sleeve to open up.

      @@KikiCrochet Yeah, I got that part, I keep having issues though hahah ... Now with sleeves. Correct me if I am wrong:
      we count the stitches then divided by 2 like you said 54/2= 27 so we do decrease in 26,27 (twice mean after every count) then we make 1 hdc in 4 rows and again a decrease which we again divided by 2 and so on?, right? I keep trying but after first row I only be able to do one decrease and tried in another way like divided by 4 and the sleeve became short. I am not sure where the mistake I am making? :'(
      Another thing, when you say turn the work, you mean the normal way as to work in the stitches easier to fit with how I can continue working or you mean sth else?

      I know I need to get to 31 on each front but don't know by how much each row increases. Doing on a size large.

      Hello, Angelique, I haven't understood your question, yet? Do you want to know on every row that you increase in the front for the V opening, how may extra stitches you get?
