Crochet Easy V-Neck Sweater (pt 1/2) - Top Down + Chart for Sizes S - 2XL

- Опубликовано: 1 окт 2024
- In this video tutorial we're going to learn how to crochet this beautiful, top-down sweater with a V- opening.
In the beginning, I have a chart that states the beginning stitches and set up for each size, please be aware that those stitches apply to projects that are made with the same or similar yarn and a 5mm crochet hook. For different size yarn and hook you'll have to adjust.
Enjoy! :)

I'm so happy!! After several restarts, including a complete frog back to the starting chain, I've now completed this part of the jumper! 🤗 Yours is the only v-neck top-down/raglan tutorial I have found that doesn't use the dreaded Granny Stitch. Thank you so much. Right, I'm ready for part 2 now! 🥰
I totally agree. I was looking for the same type of top-down cardigan without the granny stich
I love you. You explain your work so easy. I love your voice, it's so at ease and calming. This will be my next project. Thank you.
What’s the weight of the yarn you used? How about the hook is it size 6?
H hook and 4 weight yarn
This will definitely be my next project, any advice on your own mistakes would be helpful, I hate frogging! Thank you!
I'm so excited! You are so good at explaining increases and how to develop the sweater!! Thank you for a wonderful and clear tutorial!!!♡♡♡
Thank you very much! :)
What if you need more rounds after joining the neckline to get to the sleeve opening length? Do you continue with a front seam? And what if you need more than that to get to correct bust width ?
Hi .Thanks for the great pattern and step by step instructions. Just one question ....on row 3? Where we work 4 hdc 15hdc. 26hdc. 15hdc 4 hdc I think you may have mistakenly said 13 hdc again instead of 15 when explaining the set up. Apologies if I got it wrong.
Hello, yes, sorry. In row 3 we should have 15 st. I do explain in the beginning of the row the set up of the stitches and mention 15, but I guess during the row I lost my count, lol. Thanks for mentioning it. :)
I wish I'd read the comments first. I've frogged this project so many times now trying to figure out where I've gone wrong 😫 15, not 13 - thank you! 🙏🏽
I'm not finding the chart on the blog 😫

How can I have the V come down a little further down its to high on my chest
Thank you so much for the great instructios, they are very easy to follow. If I continue increasing until I reach my bust cicumference, my armholes become much too big. I changed it by adding some CHAINS between front and back (see 35:30 of the video ) when I reached my armhole size, ( in order to have enough stitches for my bust measurement ). It was an easy adjustment that maybe others might need to do.
Hi, I'm interested in what you did because I am making a size 2XL for myself and I can see that for my daughter the shoulders/arm holes are too big but it would be tight in her bust area. She has narrow shoulders and a DDD bust.
Hi, thank you so much for your great instructions!, However, i al really interested how you could ad stitches to the bust area so they armholes are not good big?, Please help, THX
How Many Stitches I Need To Create A 2XL Sweater For This Pattern, For Plus Sizes. Thankyou

Pozdrawiam serdecznie.🌹🌺🙋♥️
Hi, would you please give number of stitches for medium size men sweater?
Hello! It always depends with what yarn and hook you're crocheting with. If you
re crocheting with similar weight and a 5mm hook as I am, you can start with the chains that I have for size XXL.
Thank you dear for the beautiful sweater pattern and clear description of every step. Makes it much easier to understand and follow. Love the yarn too. I'm eager to begin this project.
Could you tell me, How many chains to start with for SIZE- M???
50 chains
I’m sorry but this is so confusing for me becoz sometimes in the video u include the 2 sts from the inc row but sometimes u don’t.
Well what I would like to know is, for example row4 that would be an inc row, but when doing the back bit u also added 2 more hdc when there’s so inc
I have looked & looked on your RUclips and cannot find your size chart. Can you please tell me where I can find it.
Hi Kiki
I’m crocheting this beautiful v neck sweater but when i finish every row and start the new one i loose a stitch, i don’t know what i’ m doing wrong .i notice that my sweater is getting narrower. I close with a slip stitch , 2 stitches , turn and i go into the next stitch, (not into the 2 stitches space)is that right?
Love this, where and how do I get this pattern? I subscribed and looked all over for the pattern but couldn’t find it.
I love this pattern, have made a sweater and a cardigan with it. Do you have this also for summer, looking for a net-stitch I can put stars or so on top. Looked on your channel, might have just missed it. Thanks
Good god you will be bless you make it so so easy not only for beginners but for other who never done a v-neck before because we’re intimidated to make one thank you so so much I given you my virals hug 🫂🫂🫂🫂🫂🫂🫂🫂🫂🫂🫂🫂🫂🫂🫂🫂🫂 for that.
When you are doing the half double crochets are you just crocheting in the back loop or are you crocheting in both loops of the stitch? Also, what is the weight of the yarn you are using?
Please sale as a written pattern.
Hi I just found your channel and I’m so excited to start this you tutorial is amazing very well done ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ 🌟 I really want to get up now and start it. 🥰🥰🥰

Thank you so much for the clear instructions and for not whipping your crochet hook around like you’re in a race. Such a pleasant video.
How many chains I do for a 2x sweater
Hi where can i se thé written pattern with sizes ? Thank you
Do you have a link to the written pattern from your blog? :) I made this in a Bernart Velvet and it's so lovely. :) Followed the large size with a K hook and got my size perfectly. :D
Thank you very much!! I don't have a written pattern, only the video tutorial. What you'll find on the blog, as I have in the beginning if this video, is chart with the chains for each size. 😘
@@KikiCrochet I, too, was looking for something written. Went to the blog, but found it has been removed =( Have you relocated? Where can I find the chart? Help, please =) And thank you!

Hi, can you explain if I want to do a cardigan?

Hello……
So beautiful, and very well explained. I love it!
Thank you very much! :)
62 chain i have so divide
I really liked this video. Your instructions are very clear. I'm working on the body of the sweater now and I keep forgetting to turn my work. I get so involved in the tv show that I don't realize that I somehow work right over my chains that I made at the beginning of the round. This is the first pullover sweater I have tried by crocheting. I got locking stitch markers with some of the other items I bought when I first began to crochet in the fall and I found that I could use them to stop my stitches from unraveling when I set my work aside. It saves me from losing my days work when cats and granddaughters get interested in yarn. Yesterday while I was working in front of the tv I took off the stitch marker and shortly after went past the turning point. I got frustrated with myself, pulled out my stitches and went to put away my work because I knew if I kept working on it in front of the tv I would do the same thing at the end of the next round. As I went to put on the stitch marker it hit me that I could use it as a reminder to turn my work. Since then I have done almost half of the lower part of the sweater and have not forgotten to turn my work once. This is a good idea for you to add to your easy version of doing things for those new to crocheting. I never thought just five months ago that I could make anything that wasn't a blanket or a scarf. Your explanations were so good I even tried a different size than what you did in the video. I never would have thought that I could do that if you didn't go through it so it made sense. I'm looking forward to getting this done before it gets too warm to wear it.
Thank you very much for such a kind comment! I'm very glad you found the video helpful!💖💖
This is great! Could I make it as a cardigan, too? If I don't close the front and keep going back and forth?
Thank you very much! You definitely can!
@@KikiCrochet , Cool! Thank you so much for your quick answer! 😘 I'm going to try it out right now!
My size is small please how many stitches I need please?
Hello! There's a chart in the beginning of the video for all sizes. :)
I can't wait to start this. Thank you. Xxxx
I just discovered your videos on RUclips. I am so excited. You do a wonderful job taking us through this process of creating a beautiful sweater.
Thank you so much for what you do. I’m looking forward to making this sweater.
Could you tell us the measure in cm, please? And could you make subs in Greek? That would be great!
Sorry, not time for subs, there's a Greek version of this sweater if you'd like to see.
@@KikiCrochet thank you for your answer! I appreciate it! I'm going to watch that one
Are you working from the reverse side still after cutting yarn at the v and attaching at arm?
I turn my work in the end of every round, this way, the top looks same as bottom, because once you start crocheting only in one side the stitch work looks different, also, if you work in the round (without turning), you'll get a diagonal seam.
@@KikiCrochet That is precisely what I did and I also slip stitch in the top of the first stitch not in the chain so there’s no holes.

Very nicely explained. I am going to make this. Thanks
Thank you very much! ❤❤
This was so easy to follow! Thank you🙌🏾
I am so 🙌 and thankfull for your reply. I can tell you care, I value your work and time😍😘
Thank you very much! ❤
l 😍 v neck sweaters. can u tell me for xxxl size. 😍 your sweater. how could i add a bell sleveeve. how long is the v neck. thanks. by the way your 👐 are beautiful.
Hello, Kim and thank you for your kind words! For a 3XL you will need to start with 64 ch, and the set up would be as follows:
1-14-28-14-1. I've never worked bell sleeves, but I would have to give a try, I would work regular decreases up until the elbow and then from there on I would work increases for the sleeve to open up.
Hello try using a bigger hook where you want it to flare out at hope it helps
@@mkayahlove6227 thank u much god bless you

Where can I find the written pattern please?

Kiku part 2 of the sweater
Oh yay 👏 the second part! I’m gonna get my yarn today hopefully. I want to start today. I loved your videos on the jacket with cables ❤️❤️❤️ I can’t wait to do this. Your videos are very informative and easy to follow
Bangali
I start with increase@24:27 ? Then continue all way for the 12 rows? I got confused :3
Hello, if you listen carefully to my instructions, I explain carefully how and where you're supposed to work increases.
@@KikiCrochet Yeah, I got that part, I keep having issues though hahah ... Now with sleeves. Correct me if I am wrong:
we count the stitches then divided by 2 like you said 54/2= 27 so we do decrease in 26,27 (twice mean after every count) then we make 1 hdc in 4 rows and again a decrease which we again divided by 2 and so on?, right? I keep trying but after first row I only be able to do one decrease and tried in another way like divided by 4 and the sleeve became short. I am not sure where the mistake I am making? :'(
Another thing, when you say turn the work, you mean the normal way as to work in the stitches easier to fit with how I can continue working or you mean sth else?
Thank you so much for the video, I am really trying to get because I love how you tell steps by steps but I am doing something wrong and not sure what :'(
Omg thank you sooòo much I was looking for this thank you !!!!!
Thank you very much! :)
This is a lovely sweater, thank you! Love your tutorials ❤️
Thank you very much! :)
Thanks..well demonstrated
Glad it was helpful! 🌺
Is it suitable for men?
Yes, it is ,if you pick a different type of yarn. :) :)
Hi.. This is stunning?! I am trying it. But I am really struggling with the nu. Bee of stitches In between. Like the 2 fronts... Pls help
I know I need to get to 31 on each front but don't know by how much each row increases. Doing on a size large.
Hello, Angelique, I haven't understood your question, yet? Do you want to know on every row that you increase in the front for the V opening, how may extra stitches you get?
@@KikiCrochet yes pls. 😁
