Michael was my idol growing up and I used to love Dogs in Space and those end credits. It’s brilliant to hear this song done like this. Much love to Ollie ❤
This cover is achingly beautiful and heartfelt. You can feel the love for Ollie and Michael in every note. I’ve listened to it countless times already and it never fails to move me to tears every time.
Such a great bunch of musicians. Adalita's tone and delivery is perfect for this song. Also great to see Mick playing lead guitar too. Sing Sing is such a great studio- I've always loved working there, whether it be at 'South' on Chapel Street, or the old Gordon Street location. Both have or had good vibes. Cheers all!
This is truly superb - totally does justice to the original in a way that will no doubt introduce another generation to these essential songs and artists. Incredible how contemporary these songs still sound (same with Win/Lose and MaxQ). And the lead guitar sound at the start is so well dialled in - searing in a way that absolutely fits the melody and theme of the song. These songs have been so important to me throughout my life. Thanks Ollie (and all the gang who made this possible), and best wishes.
So glad you did this Adalita. I was a massive INXS fan before going underground and finding Magic Dirt. Feels like going full circle with this one. Only took 30 years or so ha ha ha. BTW The Hutch could hold a room like noelse. Saw them in 1988.
I don't know but for me the original Wirly version was still the best ... It was a good "cover" (if you can call it that with the Duff involved) but that JD-XA bass wasn't great
Yeah, well seeing as this is a fundraiser of sorts (first thing that came to mind so just running with it) for Ollie Olsen whom very sadly and unfortunately has been diagnosed with multiple system atrophy, Adalita singing here is one thing. That aside though, seeing as quite obviously the original singer (being Michael Hutchence) was quite obviously male, in my personal opinion i honestly think that if a female is to cover a song done by a male, that, that song would be best suited to a female whom has a lower octave vocal as opposed to someone of say, a soprano say, for example, octave.
I'm glad I'm not the only one. The orginal, with the vocal strength and range, sent shivers down your spine. This was just "nice". It's a fundraiser, so worth supporting, but I'll probably never play it.
RIP Ollie Olsen 😟

You made me cry. As an old mate of Rhett's and a denizen of Darlinghurst in the Globe Cafe days, thank you.
So wonderful. I love the sounds of Michael. Thank you and my ears and mind have taken a trip down memory lane.

Well at least the music sounds good. Her vocals. I'll keep my opinion to myself.

Yeah na. Uninspired vocals sorry but hard to surpass Michael. Best was the snippet at the end.
