Back in 50’s, the choir of St. Anthony’s basilica in Padua performed this entire work. I sang in that chorus as youthful voice. An unforgettable moment in my memory.

Toelzer Knabenchor , always magnificent. A number of exceptional soloists come from this choir (like Markus Bauer ... Now a respected medical researcher in Munich, I believe)

Amazing, outstanding, with all the power and quality of Tolzer knabenchor, the solist boy is incredible, it has to be an honor to be A Tolzer boy choir.
This is absolutely incredible. Just got the music for this entire piece today in choir and man, I am so excited. As high schoolers, this will be a fantastic challenge. :)

The Tölzer have a very proud record of developing fantastic soloists and Daniel is certainly one of them. His Agnus Dei brings me close to tears. Well done!
One is reminded of the great Hans Buchierl and this is a fine rendering from Daniel of what is, after all, a major work written for an accomplished adult singer.
htcpt Yes that was how I felt. I was moved to tears with their rendition of Agnus Dei. I felt asking our Lord to forgive my sins. It is heaven on earth when you attend the Unbloody Sacrifice of the Mass in the Traditional Latin Roman Rite.
I think this Mass is for Coronation of an Emperor or a King.

The soprano treble soloist is very good , very moving. The whole choir is magnificent, have an excellent conductor also. Bravo!

Ralf Ludewig must certainly have climbed the stairs to heaven for this performance. Yes, Daniel was the perfect soprano soloist, and Julius sang with equal brilliance, but wasn't given much to do by Mozart, was he? I want to acknowledge the volunteer efforts of several who filmed the concert and then edited to a fine conclusion. We are forever thankful.

Außerdem war ich Mitglied eines Knabenchors und sang bei der Matthäus-Passion und später auch bei der Krönungsmesse. Große Bewunderung für die jungen Interpreten, insbesondere die Solisten. Habe die Musik genossen. Es ist seltsam zu erkennen, dass all diese Jungen mittlerweile erwachsene Männer mit Familie, Beruf usw. sind. Ich frage mich, wie viele in der Musik weitergekommen sind, zum Beispiel die jungen Solisten.
Digno de ser escuchado cada segundo de esta presentación. Grandioso.

El tempo, quizá un poco lento para una obra de Mozart, pero un auténtico gozo poder ver y escuchar a Fliegner, posiblemente emocionado, por participar y compartir una magnífica obra con el que fue su coro de infancia. Muchas, muchas gracias por ofrecernos este precioso testimonio de grandiosa música.
The tempo, maybe a bit slow for a Mozart work, but a real joy to see and hear Fliegner, possibly excited, to participate and share a magnificent work with which was his childhood choir. Thank you very much for offering us this precious testimony of great music.

Someone taught these boys to sing! Their Latin is perfect and they open their mouths! Plus, this is what one would have heard during Mozart's lifetime; women were not allowed to sing at Mass.

Meiner Meinung nach, war der Daniel besonders gut. Der Kirchenmusik Mozarts muss himmlischer klingen, und seine Stimme war auf dem Höhepunkt seiner Soprankarriere: gelassen und mühelos, als ob es die einfachste Sache der Welt wäre.
Alle anderen sind sehr gut auch, bravo.
Und vielen dank an die Video-editorin, der Klang ist gut. Du hast aber schon viele Videos gesammelt!
They still know how to do church music in Bavaria...just like in the time of Mozart. Conductor is superb too, perfect tempo
I am not in to religion..but it is this music that makes me teary.....and my heart swell...I know it is corny but this is what I feel right now.
when they sing solo duet, the conductor is just between them, it must be incredible at this position to hear it.
But I just saw that the tenor had difficulties several times to set in at he right time...
somehow distracting...
The conductor was behind the soloists, so they could not see,
but in later parts the conductor came in front of the soloist for them to start punctually.
IT DOES NOT DISTURBE THE GENERAL IMPRESSION OF A WONDERFUL EVENT!

Condivido pienamente le considerazioni di Alessandro Pasotti. Nel campo musicale purtroppo l'Italia è in declino: sono quasi del tutto scomparsi i "pueri cantores" e quei pochi rimasti non sono all'altezza dei cori tedeschi, austriaci e inglesi. Anche i corsi scolastici musicali sono appena agli esordi e non possono competere con l'alto livello delle scuole europee. Per non parlare poi delle pagliacciate televisive in cui si vedono bambini imitare i cantanti leggeri (mi riferisco in particolare a "Ti lascio una canzone"). Il Tolzer knabenchor di Monaco di Baviera è un esempio di grande educazione musicale. In Europa non è l'unico: si pensi ai cori inglesi (King's college choir, St' John's college choir, Libera, ecc.), al Vienna Boy choir, al coro dei bambini di Ratisbona, al Dresder Knabenchor, al Thomanerchor di Lipsia, al Winsbacher Knabenchor, all'Escolania di Montserrat, tanto per citarne alcuni. Solo che la RAI tace su queste realtà: peccato. Si dovrebbe parlare molto di più di grande musica e soprattutto si dovrebbero attuare progetti educativi finalizzati alla vera educazione musicale. L'Italia ha molto da imparare dalla Germania e dagli altri paesi citati.

The Agnus Dei is rather tame - try to acquire the recording of this in Canterbury Cathedral by Andrew Lysle in the 70s. It is available online.

For me, only one thing could have added to this brilliant performance, I would like to have heard the K278 church sonata included. Does anyone know what the Tölzers' followed up with in the concert?
Since the comment was written, I believe the whole evening consisted of Handel’s Israel in Egypt and the Hallelujah chorus from Messiah. Both can be seen on YT. What a fantastic event to have been at.
