thx. so far so good. will be at least a year to see how big some of these SPS get. might have to get me some Christmas presents to fill in the tank some more.
1st year was weekly. 2nd year was every 2-3 weeks. Now that the "tank" and rock is 3.5 years it is once every 2-3 months. The tank itself is not 3.5 years old but a lot of the rock and corals are. Sand is starting to get dirty so I will do a water change soon although recent ICP test was perfect so no rush.
You switched from a 425xl to this right? How much extra rock did you buy? I’m upgrading from very full reefer 350 to the 200 ext and was thinking of 40 more pounds of Marco rock.
I don't remember how much but it was a decent amount. If you go on my build page on reef2reef.com I think I may have mentioned how many pounds of Marco I did. I ended using the cement and making 3 large structures with Marco rocks/mortar and then added my older rocks from my Red Sea to those 2 structures. It worked out well.
How many gallons is lost in the display with an internal overflow I can't find any accurate information on it just says whatever there claiming gallon size is
I aim for ALK of 9. Usually pretty close. I test weekly with salifert. As my corals grow the need for soda ash has been a lot. I am making a gallon of soda ash every couple weeks. PH is usually about 8.3. I don't test often. I did recently at it was 8.3. When you run 2 part it tends to be stable.
thanks. I am probably going to put a big ledge rock over those palys. They continue to grow out of control. I do love gonis though and would love to get another.
Awesome selection of fish , great update!
thanks
Beautiful tank. Everything seems yo be growing in well

Great looking tank! How often are you changing water?

@@tritonpower3641 good to know. Love the rock scape as well. Good to see the tank doing so well! Well done!
the yellow tang is actually a mimic tang
yellow tang is in the garage and not in this video. the one that looks yellow is an orange shoulder tang

I should have remembered exactly how much I used to fill it. Maybe close to 180 gallons. If you research it I bet someone on reef2reef measured it.
Hello ! Can you share with us your refLED schedule ? :)
9a-9p for all of them with 1 hour ramp up and ramp down. The LED50s are at 100% blue and 50% white. The 90 and 160s are at 85% blue and 50% white.
What do you keep your alkalinity and PH at?

The Alveoporas are not the best to stop palys. I recomendo you Gonioporas. All the Zoas and palys hate Gonioporas
